Author Meena Harris, the niece of Vice President Kamala Harris, walked back a tweet Monday that assumed the alleged shooter in Colorado was a White man. “The Atlanta shooting was not even a week ago. Violent white men are the greatest terrorist threat to our country,” Ms. Harris wrote. She later deleted the tweet but stopped short of apologizing, writing, “Insecure men getting defensive about this my god y’all are so f—-ing fragile.” “I deleted a previous tweet about the suspect in the Boulder shooting,” she added. “I made an assumption based on his being taken into custody alive and the fact that the majority

The MTA will continue splashing out for its $300 million-per-year subway cleaning effort into the future—even as the COVID-19 crisis that spurred the practice winds down, officials said Tuesday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and transit officials instituted the “24/7” subway cleaning effort in the spring as ridership cratered in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic—at a cost of $250 million, MTA budget director David Keller told city council members during budget hearing. “We anticipate to spend about $300 million dollars more on an annual basis going forward,” he testified. Officials will ask FEMA to reimburse the costs,

Fully vaccinated Americans can gather with unvaccinated family members and friends without any restrictions who live under one roof, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Monday. In a clarification of its guidelines for those who have received one of the three approved vaccines, the agency said that visits should be kept to one unvaccinated household at a time amid fears of large gatherings, CNN reported.
Officials also reiterated the unvaccinated people must be at low risk for severe illness or death from COVID-19.
More and more research suggests those who are fully vaccinated are less likely to be asymptomatic and spread

Former President Barack Obama on Tuesday released a statement on the Boulder shooting saying recent killings are being driven by “disaffection, racism and misogyny”—despite Colorado officials identifying the gunman who slaughtered 10 inside a grocery store as a Syrian-born immigrant. Authorities have not alleged a motive for suspect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, but his brother told the Daily Beast he was “very anti-social” and suffered from paranoia and possible mental illness.(Snip) “It will take time to root out the disaffection, racism and misogyny that fuels so many of these senseless acts of violence. But we can make it harder

Gila Bend, Arizona, Mayor Chris Riggs says he is declaring a state of emergency due to the ongoing border crisis, blaming the Biden administration for sending migrants to his town by bus. Riggs, in a First on FOX Business interview, said that his town is not equipped to handle the number of people coming in, especially in the middle of a pandemic. "Border Patrol let us know that they were going to be dropping migrants that had been detained for 72 hours in our town, which we really didn't understand because we have nothing here," Riggs told FOX Business. "We have no charity organizations

Fired FBI agent Peter Strzok, whose Crossfire Hurricane probe into the Trump campaign relied on a since-discredited Russia-sourced dossier, is rebooting an unverified Democratic claim that two Republican senators relied on Kremlin disinformation from a Ukrainian politician. Mr. Strzok re-aired the claim in a March 16 tweet. GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin have hotly denied the allegation. They assert that Democrats, not Republicans, injected Ukrainian politician Andriy Derkach‘s name into the investigative record in a probe of Hunter Biden, President Biden‘s son.(Snip) Last week, the director of national intelligence (DNI) released the Intelligence Community Assessment

Twisted threats from the staunchly anti-American Chamber of Commerce take precedence over codifying that young women should not have to compete against men in college sports. Good to know that Gov. Noem is so "business-friendly"; passing this little test will win her solid backing later on, but not from me.
