Rochester’s mayor lied to dodge responsibility about when she learned details about her police department’s handling of the suffocation death of an unarmed Black man in police custody last year, a city-commissioned panel said Friday. Mayor Lovely Warren had said she didn’t learn until August that Rochester cops had slipped a hood over Daniel Prude’s head to keep the mentally ill man from spitting at them during his March 23 arrest after he was seen running naked through the streets. In fact, Warren was told of the incident the very day of Prude’s death—and by mid-April she and then-Police Chief La'Ron

Comments:

Her October 2020 felony campaign fraud indictment for breaking campaign finance rules during her 2017 reelection campaign is probably of no consequence as that's a baseline expected behavior. I say, charge her also for lying about being Lovely.

She isn't very bright, but she was protected by NY rats and a local media that has zero interest in looking for corruption and failure in any rat connected office.

A wood shampoo for anyone spitting on police would work well. Probably better than a hood.

The guy laying in the street sure doesn't look black, maybe because of the lights. I would have said at first glance he was a white man. Article doesn't say, but wondering if then-Police Chief La’Ron Singletary is another of those black women chiefs of police that should be in the kitchen making cookies.

Still trying to take in how odd it is that both of the principal people in this story have such ironic names. Not particularly lovely, on the one hand. And were the other prudish, he would have shown enough self-restraint not to spit, without having a hood covering his head.
