President Biden has omitted Dr. Seuss from Read Across America Day which is always held on March 2nd, the same day as the children's author's birthday.
Biden continued a presidential tradition by making a proclamation that declared Tuesday to be Read Across America Day, but he broke the tradition of his predecessors by leaving out any mention of Dr. Seuss. Both former President Barack Obama and former President Donald Trump both recognized Dr. Seuss' contributions several times in their proclamations each year. Although the White House has not explained why Dr. Seuss was left out of this years proclamation, but it is likely

I'm guessing this wasn't an intentional affront. Not-my-president Senile Joe Biden is just getting more and more lost in his dementia by the day that he is having trouble reading the notes his handlers give him.
Besides, it was after noon, and so he was really missing his nappy time.

'In addition, some of Dr. Seuss' most iconic books feature animal or non-human characters that transmit Orientalist, anti-Black, and White supremacist messaging through allegories and symbolism.'
Remember the hysteria 40-50 years ago when it was claimed that playing LP albums backwards at 78-speed revealed commands from the devil that were driving kids to commit suicide and other violent acts? Some pretty impressive engineering going on in those recording studios, eh? Ted had similar talent but in prose. What a genius! The unfortunate part is that there will be no going back.
At what point do we start banning classic black and white movies and television shows simply because there were no minorities in the cast?

What racial undertones? I truly believe the left makes this crap up about racial whatever so that they can eliminate anything that they want. This is getting out of hand and it will not end well. They need to back off and put their left wing loonies in the corner.

It is beyond me that the very person seated next to Robert Byrd is now telling us how to act racially. Back when he was sitting with Robert Byrd, my mom was teaching her children not to look at someone's skin color. Don't you just love being lectured by a President on the things we shouldn't do but he did?

In Dr. Seuss's first book, And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, there's a full page drawing of some of the usual Seuss mayhem and in the picture there is "a Chinaman who eats with sticks". The picture has a Chinese man running while eating a bowl of rice with chopsticks. The oh so easily offended clutched their pearls and had a fit. Actually, Dr.Seuss was quite the prog. Just read The Lorax for a rather ham handed treatment of environmentalism. Me, I prefer The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.

This madness will continue until there is hard pushback. The longer we ring our hands and take it on the chin, the more powerful the left becomes in defining our culture. We must not cower in the front of foolishness we know is a lie. The left is offended by everything because they view life through the lens of racism. Their chip on the shoulder mentality makes it impossible to even have a conversation. Of course, conversation is not what they want. They want to be able to define the culture and the rest of us must go along with it. This strategy is a form of brainwashing. When they declare something a truth that is the end of the discussion. You either agree or suffer the consequences. Most will just agree just to get along and before you know it, welcome to the dystopian nightmare. Do not the left define you.

I am beginning to think that every day democrats have a hundred stickers that say "racist" or white superminis" on them, and that they are compelled to stick them on someone before the day is over. I'm wearing thin on these fascists. There was a time when even the French knew how to deal with bad leadership.

If I had a penny for every time I read "Are You My Mother" to my Granddaughter, I would be set for Life! There is nothing in those Wonderful Books that should be offensive to anyone WITH Half a Brain. Sadly, we are dealing with people who were not blessed with even that much Sense! I think it's going to be the Little Stuff that is going to take down the Biden Administration. People , sometimes even Democrats, have that line that is getting pretty close to being crossed. People already think, either the Election was stolen and that was the ONLY way Biden got into the White House, or that Biden is really, really sick and should not be in the White House letting his Minions call the shots. Either way, we have a disaster waiting to happen. And then the Woke Idiots running the White House go after Dr. Seuss and prove once again the Patients are running the Asylum! God help us!

Racism in this context is the tool and catchphrase used by those consumed with anger and hate to demonize and marginalize those that do not mirror their ideals and self-constructed self-image of victimhood. It is a stepping stone to exert brute force and power. With the nonstop drum beats of the cancel culture, we are figuratively being shackled with severe limitations on thought, speech, and the written word. Twentieth-century history shows us very clearly who we are rapidly becoming and it is not anything good. This is just another example.

I read all the Dr. Seuss books as a child and while it has been years, I remember them as more stupid than anything else. My late mother, an English major thought they were garbage and steered me into better books as soon as she could. Having said that, they aren't racist, sexist or any other "ist" so they shouldn't be banned. Anything that gets children to love reading is worth it.

What exactly is racist? I can think of no words in any of the the books that could be considered racist. As for the pictures...they are cartoons. Many are caricatures of what they are supposed to represent... not real life (like most things in children's books). Maybe the liberal whiners would be happy if the books were republished with real politically correct pictures of whatever was in the story was about (real Chinese, real Black, real African Natives...). Of course, I'm not sure where they will get pictures of Brown Barbaloots and Truffula Trees and some of the other offending stuff.

if you think this is bad (canceling Dr. Seuss), wait until they start telling you what you should read. Communism for Kindergarteners anyone? That would be too blatant, but it would be the them being pushed. There's no God? Commies don't believe in God. Chinese and Black Racial Superiority? Both want to be in positions of authority so its not a stretch. Female superiority? Same thing.
Right now, they are content to tell you what not to read, but that will change.

The same people that party in blackface and KKK sheets now what to ban Dr. Seuss books because of 'racial undertones'.
I notice that there are no specific examples of 'racial undertones' given. This is probably because an examples of 'racial undertones' they may point to would be immediately recognized absurdly stupid examples of seeing what is NOT there. To some people, every thing has 'racial undertones'. Counter Culture would have you believe Abraham Lincoln was a racist.
An inconvenient truth: If all, or even a majority of white people are racists, blacks would still be living under "Jim Crow" segregation.

The problem is we have Dementia Joe in office and his handlers get whatever the want because he will do it. There's no telling what all we will see from the realm of insanity going down this road. The most dangerous person in office is one who cannot perceive anything and knows not where he is at a given moment. Anything goes.

In utter frustration, I ask: is there no limit to the lengths leftists/liberals will go to destroy, remove, shame, and corrupt every normal facet of our society? What is it about them that makes them want to corrupt everything they can touch? I am sick and tired of this tyranny by the minority(s). When will the vast majority of Americans who live decent, normal lives stop feeling "ashamed," rise up and say, "enough: we are done letting you normalize crazy concepts/viewpoints and clearly abnormal human behavior (to wit: Dr. "Rachel" Levine). We will no longer tolerate this!
