All that work for, and faith in, Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett! As with John Roberts before, we are once again the victims of unrequited affection and lost labor. Like other Republicans, I expended lots of hours and effort to do my part in getting all three confirmed. I wrote articles, did radio and TV interviews, gave speeches, called Senators and asked my friends to do so, and spoke to countless people.
I even attended the Senate Hearings for two of them; and in the case of Kavanaugh went face-to-face against a wild group of “feminists”

All of a sudden, here it is the end of February and there is no State of the Union (SOTU) address scheduled for President Biden. That’s odd because last month, Biden promised what sounds exactly like a SOTU:
"Next month, in my first appearance before a joint session of Congress, I will lay out my 'Build Back Better' recovery plan," he said. "It will make historic investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, innovation, and research and development in clean energy."
AP and PBS both got wind that the address was to be given on February 23 in and said so in posts that are now deep-sixed

Seven weeks into his presidency, senile Joe Biden surprised many by calling in a Syria airstrike.
Which was puzzling, given that there seemed to be no immediate threat. And that's just for starters. (snip) What's vivid, though, is that questions are being raised about whether Joe really made the call.
First, note that his vice president, Kamala Harris, was kept out of the loop. According to a report citing a White House official, she's said to be steaming that nobody told her before it happened. (snip) it goes against what Joe has explicitly said, as well as his well-known desire to suck up to Iran.

In a trail of observations that began with Trump's campaign in 2015 and peaked during the last year of his life, the late Rush Limbaugh, as he was in and out of the studio battling cancer, was on a path to the previously unthinkable. He was ready to let go of the ideology he'd spent three decades promoting — Reaganite conservatism — and replace it with right-wing populism. Specifically, the right-wing populism of the just-defeated Republican president. Why?
Limbaugh, the self-proclaimed "mayor of Realville," was constantly trying to see around corners. What he saw was a political movement that offered more staying power and strength against the left

Our vaccine is experimental, and we, the people, are being herded into a mass drug trial such as the FDA has never before attempted.
That is the unembellished truth. Nobody in authority wants to mention this truth. Instead, there’s a long trail of rah-rah news propaganda, about fabulous new stadium-parking-lot vaccine sites (because, what else would a parking lot at a stadium be used for these days?), numbers of doses available, and reports about the elderly in nursing homes doing a dance of joy at getting their jabs and maybe being let out of jail to see family and people other than one another.

One of the most chilling examples in modern times of the accelerating full-spectrum assault on free speech and the First Amendment took place yesterday on Capitol Hill, courtesy of a subcommittee of the Democrat-controlled House Committee on Energy and Commerce. For over three hours on Wednesday afternoon, the subcommittee held a virtual hearing titled Fanning the Flames: Disinformation and Extremism in the Media. The target was conservative media in general and Fox News in particular. (snip) The tone of the hearing was set early on by one of the witnesses, the self-identified “Latinx. Queer” Kristin Danielle Urquiza,

I’m sure that there are some Americans, somewhere, who voted for Joe Biden because the media assured them that Joe is an honest, decent family man – all of which is patently untrue. (snip) It turns out, though, that Hunter’s unutterably sleazy sex life was even worse than those paying attention knew back in 2020. Get a gander at this Daily Mail headline: “EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden was living with his brother Beau's widow Hallie while sending raunchy texts and FaceTiming in the shower with her married SISTER as they declared their love and she called him her ‘prince’”

To his legion of obsessed enemies, it is a fortunate thing that Donald Trump owns his own Elba, otherwise known as Mar-A-Lago. Not quite an island, but a place where America’s Bonaparte can be safely exiled, secluded, and sealed-off from the general populace. Carefully watched and heavily guarded, they imagine he too is approaching madness; angrily stalking the grounds, bitterly rehashing his humiliating defeat. (snip) The bedsheets are tied snugly together and on Sunday, February 28, Trump will dodge the searchlights and descend the compound wall. Loyalists are waiting outside to whisk him to Orlando, where he’ll address the annual CPAC Conference.

Sometimes, Tucker Carlson shows a real touch of genius. That was the case with his suggestion for true societal change in America. It’s time, he said, for America’s elite educational institutions (the Ivy Leagues and other high-ranking colleges and universities) to stop promoting generational affluence. They need to jettison their rich student body and, in the future, admit only disadvantaged students.
Tucker opened his proposal by noting that we’re currently experiencing a non-traditional revolution in which the ruling class is attacking and destroying the working and middle classes.

The two most prominent Democrat governors in the country, New York’s Andrew Cuomo and California’s Governor Gavin Newsom, may both be tossed out of office over their botched handling of the Covid panic. (snip) More broadly, the economic and social price paid by residents of states with lockdown hardline Democrat governors like Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, and California is starting to look way too high. “Free states” like Florida are not doing medically worse than states where joblessness is stratospheric (snip) this leaves Republicans as the party of hope and prosperity, with Dems the party of doom and poverty.

There is one major lesson that conservatives and frankly all Americans must learn: never accept at face value the reporting of any news event. By foolishly acquiescing to the version of a story put out by the denizens of the mainstream media, the citizenry allows the ruling oligarchy to set the narrative and exploit the inevitably fabricated incidents that further their cause. In place of “mainstream media,” they ought to be called Gaslight Media, for their role is not to report the truth, but rather to manipulate the public into a mental state conducive to obedience.

At a time when Americans are starting to suspect a COVID-industrial complex with an entrenched interest in permanent lockdowns, out comes Joe Biden with a very bizarre video tweet from his newly appointed CDC director:
(snip) The unmasked woman with the strange, smirking, mirthless grin, making that grim message about COVID having no end in sight and calling for everyone to wear a mask is Biden's appointment to the Centers for Disease Control, Dr. Rochelle Walensky.
Who the heck delivers news like that with that bizarre kind of extended smile? And worse still, the head bobbing, and that flippant giggly ending? That's the image she wants to project
