US Sen. Chuck Schumer on Sunday slammed Texas for getting caught off guard by last week’s massive winter storm—saying the Lone Star State is paying the price for ignoring climate change. “The bottom line is, Texas thought it could go it alone and built a system that ignored climate change,” Schumer said during a Lower East Side press conference, referring to the state’s decision to stay off the country’s national power grid. “It was not what’s called resilient, and now Texas is paying the price,” Schumer said. “I hope they learned a lesson,” he added. The storm, which swept across a large swath

Swine Schumer sang a different tune when New York was hit by "superstorm Sandy," taking in billions of dollars in FEMA money. Hundreds of millions of dollars went to bail out the NYC MTA, which ignored the internal Global Warming studies they commissioned and left brand-new rolling stock in the exact same low-lying areas the study said would flood, even though they had plenty of advance warning. Being a Marxist means never having to say your sorry, but also grants carte blanche to go on the attack without reprimand.

This man is a lying, hateful, hypocritical b———-d! Remember, the Biden administration told Texas to cut back on emissions, and by going to wind mills, they shut down the coal generating stations.Second, we have global warming according to settled science, so why should they be prepared for a very rare snow storm? That’s like making buildings in the NY Metropolitan area earthquake proof like they do in California. Give me a break!

Chuck ( you imbecile ) , " climate change " will be the result of the sun ( our star) expanding, about a billion yeas from now. The weather comes and goes, climates are stable. Where I live , New Jersey . we've had not much of anything snow falls, last year there were none, four years ago we had a blizzard on the first day of spring. Chuck , you are among the dumbest and most self serving idiots in DC .

Frankly Chuck U, I think those people in Texas are a little slow. You probably thinks so too, you know, they way they talk with that drawl? I strongly recommend that you personally go down there and explain it to them. And, to save the government money, you should purchase a one way ticket. I’m sure they would enjoy your company and the fact that you would be so willing to “teach them”.

Chuckie Schumer did not "rip" Texas.
He opened his mouth and said something incredibly stupid, that was based solely on his feelings, not on logic, reason, or facts.
I don't know what bothers me more -- that this idiot is in Congress making laws that effect all of us (when he clearly doesn't have enough working brain cells to comprehend anything before him), or that Reuven Fenton & Jorge Fitz-Gibbon use a stupid headline like that to preface their article.
Yes, Chuckie, we did learn a lesson -- that this "green" garbage -- like windmills that freeze up when it gets cold -- are totally useless, while good old fashioned fossil fuels work great no matter what!!!

So, the oil in the unheated gearboxes and motors of the Texas wind turbines thickened up and tripped the turbines offline on overtorque, and moisture in the natural gas pipelines froze, shutting down some pipelines.
The point here is that Texas was not prepared for the Arctic conditions they experienced.
But then, why should they have been prepared. You absurd Warmists have been telling us for years that it is the "End of Snow," and that we will have irreversible Global Warming, ice packs and glaciers will melt, and island and cities will be submerged.
Make up your mind, Leftists. The planet is either warming or cooling. You can't get cold from Global Warming.

Texas is waking up, shocked that our Republicans running the state are RINO's, who have adopted the Green Energy policies, that and diversity. ERCOTs brags they have more women, more minorities, as accomplishments, but no more electricity, actually less electricity, which is their job. How many in Texas knew that the Texas power grid is ran by people that don't live in Texas? The Chairman of ERCOT lives in Michigan, and has a major in public administration. The Vice Chairman lives in Ca., and is a banker. The CEO lives in Texas, and is a lawyer. Is there an electrical engineer running ERCOT? It looks not. How are ERCOT leadership appointed? They board appoints its members. Good Grief! Supposed ERCOT reports to the Public Utility Commission, which has 3 member appointed by Greg Abbot. But don't look for anybody that knows anything about producing electricity there either, all lobbyist loyalists. Then our Republican state legislature. With 254 counties, nobody in the state really has any say over the people ruining our lives. Texans have been lied to about Republicans being conservative. They are not. They are political hacks. Greg Abbot is among the hacks with the business closures, masks, and now trying to cover his failures by calling for the resignation of ERCOT members. Really, Governor, if you wanted to get rid of ERCOT members, you would order the PUC to fire them, not beg them to resign.

Sure thing Chucky. We Texans learned a lesson. When it gets cold wear a coat and don't go to New York.

Chuck the Schmuck is such a nasty, foolish jerk.
"Climate change" has always been getting hotter, you know "our children will never know what snow is" and "we'll all die of heat stroke" as all the ice at the poles disappears.
This is just WEATHER. It varies A LOT. I remember as a kid in the '50s in coastal Virginia digging tunnels in the snow. It must have been 24" deep or more. Hasn't done that in a while, but it periodically DOES vary and over a very wide range.
This is NORMAL, Chuck. And all your politically motivated lies are not very convincing to those of us with a brain and a memory, and who know how science REALLY works.

And Schumer ignores science.
Climate change is a millennia long study. It's not about decades, it's about Eons. The temperature of Earth regularly chills till the entire planet is an ice cube, then swings the other way till there is no ice at either pole.- all regardless of what Humanity does or can do. We are "coming out" of an Ice Age, and the temperature is swinging up. We are actually (and on schedule) slightly above Earth's average temperature. Even if we waged all-out nuclear war, annihilating most of civilization, the temperature blip of the warheads detonating would be a few hours or days long, and the resulting nuclear winter might last a decade, then it would be back to normal, steadily getting warmer. It will, with or without man, get so warm, the glaciers melt and the Ice Caps disappear from the poles (or nearly so). Then it will swing the other way. The process takes thousands of years.
Anthropomorphic Global Warming (or Climate Change) is about the politics of the few controlling the many. The political Elites want a believable excuse to lay their hands on the reigns of energy and ride it to their satisfaction and profit. It is nothing but a scam.

During the Summer it gets hot, and during the winter it gets cold, and no climate change advocate is going to change those facts, as that is the way nature has worked since the planet came about. Its winter now and when the wind turbine motors freeze up and the solar panels are covered with six inches of snow, those renewable energy sources will not generate any power. the way to go is by using every diverse source of energy and not get hung up on just renewable sources of energy that are venerable to the elements of nature that are sure to come.

California is certainly not ignoring climate change and we have had the same problems as Texas, just a different season. The problem is alternative energy sources are totally unreliable. Calif knew for 15 yrs that there was a big problem with the electrical grid and would only get worse. What did Calif use as the solution? Add more wind and solar power and this summer it all failed and we had rolling blackouts. And if we have another warm summer this yr it will happen all over again because nothing has changed. Texas should have stuck to fossil fuel and there would have been a lot less suffering. What happens when these states start bringing in wind and solar, they stop adding to the electrical grid in the conventional method. The only method that is truly reliable. Also add nuclear power

Almost every restaurant in NYC is on the verge of going out of business because of Democrat lack of leadership during the pandemic, and this useless windbag has the temerity to slam Texas because of a freak cold weather front.
