Black Sleep Matters

Original Article

Posted By: Magnante, 2/20/2021 4:31:58 AM

Teen Vogue magazine recently published an article by two writers who are calling for “rest reparations” in addition to the regular, old, garden-variety reparations for African Americans (snip) Navild Acosta and Fannie Sosa contend that, on average, Black lives are shorter than white ones because Black people experience “generational fatigue” due solely to the fact that they are, in fact, Black. The two allege that “the American dream is a sleepless one” for Black folks, and claim to have had an epiphany when they realized the reason they were always tired was because they were impacted by "hundreds of years of sleep deprivation" that was due to systemic racism.

Any outrageous train of thought from the black community is being accepted as truth. This is insane. Millions of successful black Americans know the secret to success. The country gives us ample opportunities to better ourselves regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. All we have to do is want it and work toward success and it can be ours. Wallowing in victimization will not produce success. It will only produce resentment and frustration. Many people will not put the effort to better themselves regardless of their race, religion or ethnicity. The ones who do will be successful and each generation builds on that success. We all benefit when our neighbors are successful. The community improves. Our relationships improve because we all are working toward a similar goal. It is about the content of your character and not about the color of your skin. Any race will be welcomed into a community if there are shared values. Our country is proof of that. Reject the lie of liberal thinking that some races are out to get other races. Not true. We just want to live in communities that are safe, prosperous, and show respect for themselves and others, and love for this country. It’s not about race. Dr. Martin Luther King was right. People with the same values will come together regardless of their race. The prosperity that was growing in minority communities under President Trump should have been championed by both political parties. It was a natural point of coming together for the benefit of all Americans. Democrats could not have that. They would rather sentence our minority communities to failure rather than join the President in lifting them out of the cycle of poverty that they were trapped in by years of failing policies. President Trump was betting on the success of minorities while the democrats wanted only to sentence them to the victimhood mentality they had created for their political benefit. This is the legacy of the democrat party.

Its scary watching people reject reality, reason, and logic to make their point. It seems to be happening more and more. Life is akin to crossing a busy 4 lane highway. Lack of success in life tends to come as a result of listening to those community activists telling you that you don't need to work at becoming successful, or that whites are just born lucky. Guess what, you folks have had some serious AA programs aimed right at your community, yet you still complain nobody is helping you. How about helping yourself for a change, and dump your community activists while you are at it. Success takes work and personal responsibility for one's own life. Something the community activists would rather you didn't do.

Well when you put so-called inherited Black sleeplessness together with the new math to be taught in the Northwest, saying that just as privileged White folks believe that 2+2=4 is a correct answer, that when the so taught Black folks believe that 2+2=22 is a correct answer, that both answers must be considered correct. So in the years ahead we will be bound to see Black structural engineers who came up under such “woke” concepts who will construct bridges and buildings that will come tumbling down. After that is when we will see a substantial backlash, that will be defended against by the “woke” using the brilliant excuse that everything that goes up must come down.

One must be very careful when describing any adverse qualities in the black population, especially those measured by the Bell Curve, but this report makes it okay by eventually blaming whitey for the problem. Most important, do not mention the shorter lives of blacks in the same sentence with violence and shooting. It's a totally acceptable cultural thing and we should feel obligated to make it a part of our own culture to adhere to diversity and inclusion guidelines.

Conservatives are happily gloating over the fact that Andrew Cuomo is at, or rapidly approaching, his nadir. (snip) Cuomo's pandering has always been coarse, heavy-handed, and insincere. Though he is hardly a closet conservative, and probably genuinely supports these policies, it has always been obvious that Cuomo manipulated leftist identity groups so that they would have no alternative but to vote for him and make him governor-for-life. (Indeed, until only a few weeks ago, Cuomo seemed to be a shoo-in for a fourth term). Eventually, though, it became clear that the leftist identity-politics groups were getting tired of getting the pimp hand from Cuomo

Meghan Markle, it seems, isn't much of a scholar. While much of the focus has been on her barbs accusing the British royal family of abnormal interest in her baby's skin color and denying him a title and personal security protection supposedly because he is black and they are racists, what's striking to me is how unprepared she was for the royal role she sought when she married Prince Harry. Though the populist tide seems to have ebbed, it will rise again, and soon. The problem that ignited populist sentiment in the first place, whether on the left or the right, remains: the country’s economic and financial system has failed much of the population and is rigged to the benefit of a government-business elite. Resistance to this inequity elevated Trump and pulled the Democratic Party to the left and will continue to roil American politics until things change. The economy’s “rigging” has developed gradually over time and often from the best of intentions.
