Congress holds reparations for slavery
hearing for first time since BLM protests
rocked the nation—with Dems pushing for
bill to 'consider a national apology'

Congress held its first hearing on reparations for slavery since the May 2020 death of George Floyd, which reignited the Black Lives Matter movement. Members of the Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties met over Zoom Wednesday to discuss H.R. 40, which aims to 'establish a commission to study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery.' Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who's spearheading the effort, argued her case with images, holding up pictures of a beaten slave and lynched black Americans. 'This was our life, the back of a beaten slave.

Comments:

How about a million dollars to each freedman. What, no freed slaves are alive, and we've spent tens of trillions of dollars and counting propping up Africans during the quagmire War on Poverty, with nothing to show for it?

Reparations for what ? The native tribes of Africa sold their own people into slavery. Slavery was outlawed 156 years ago. If you want , trace your lineage and we will pay you to go back to the country of your ancestors. See what life in the 18th century is like.

I’ve been working and paying taxes for almost 50 years in order to pay “reparations” in the form of free housing, free food, free medical care, free school and on and on and on. All at the expense of my own family. You can take your apology and shove it.

There is no sewer, no depravity, no lie, too extreme for the rat party. They will do and say anything to get a vote, from inciting riots to trying to cover themselves in false virtue. When the rat party has paid extortion to the loudest race hustler for the civil war atrocity where they barricaded the doors to an orphanage in NYC and let all the black children burn to death, then they can start apologizing for Robert Byrd, Lester Maddox and all the other rat racist that built their cult and who run it today. Whatever they do just make sure they do it with their own money or the money of their foreign masters.

Isn't it the demoslut party that needs to apologize? It was the demoslut party that dominated the south in those days. It rich southern democrats that created trouble in D.C. and who started the Civil War. So the demoslut party can apologize if they want, but don't include every U.S. citizen in that apology.

Let the Democrats apologize, as it was the Democrats who ran the South and supported the slavery era. I don’t need to apologize as my ancestors had nothing to do with slavery. Also a number of my ancestors served in the Union Army in battles like Antietam, Gettysburg, and Vicksburg where their bones still lie today. When they are at it, the Democrats can do their best to impeach another Republican President, Abraham Lincoln for inciting the Civil War.

The Taki article a couple down from this had a bit of wisdom: under the miasma (pollution/vapor) theory of black underachievement, the root cause is always white racism. And because there is so little white racism in reality, they must find it in the past or make up fake white racism to make their theory work. This commission seems to be part of that finding-racism-where-it-doesn't-exist-because-whitey-is-bad.

Educated and wealthy black members of the political and ruling class argue that they were oppressed. They were not oppressed. None of them was ever beaten or threatened with lynching. Why are real Africans trying to get into the US by the thousands if it is such a horrible racist country? When they get to the US, they become very successful and are far wealthier than they could ever have been back in Africa.I recall what Mohammad Ali said when he got back from his first trip to Africa to fight George Foreman. He was asked what he thought of Africa. He replied, "Thank God my granddaddy got on that boat."

The plantations were owned by absentee landowners in Europe. Because of primogeniture, second sons were given land in America. The people that came here never had slaves, not wanted them. They had no way to support, control, or deal with it. My family came here in the late 1600's and never owned any slaves. Families included the grand parents and children. That was all any of them could support.

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

Thousands of illegal immigrants are being set free across the country as the crisis on the southern border escalates—and the White House admitted Monday it isn’t doing enough to discourage people from seeking unlawful entry to the United States. Speaking to reporters during a press briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged the failures after being pressed about the administration’s handling of the situation. “I would say it’s clear we need to work more on getting the message out and being very clear, now is not the time to come,” said Psaki, before reiterating the Biden administration’s claim that “the majority
