This past Sunday, Bill Gates (net worth, $133 billion) and Anderson Cooper ($110 million) got together on 60 Minutes to discuss the numerous sacrifices Americans will be expected to make to avert an imminent climate catastrophe.
First, we should refrain from referring to these sorts of conversations as “journalism,” since Cooper never challenges any of Gates’s wild predictions nor displays even a hint of professional skepticism regarding the subject matter. Cooper simply cues up the next talking point like a host of an in-house corporate video.Gates, who has a new book out called “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster,”

Cooper and Gates should go to Texas this morning and ask about how many Texans are ready to give up fossil fuels and move on to a permanent Green New Deal style energy situation. Maybe while there they can show the Texans a quick way to thaw out all the frozen and useless windmills?

Bill Gates is a peddler of vapor. He didn't invent DOS. He didn't invent Windows. He didn't invent multi-tasking. In fact, the only thing he has done is build on the work of others, never giving credit and always taking credit. He's a helluva salesman, but I'll never buy the snake oil he is selling now.

Hey, National Review, I see that you are distancing yourself from the term "journal alism" by putting it in quotation marks. Yet you fail to distance yourself from the term "imminent climate catastrophe." Do you believe a climate catastrophe is imminent? Are you not aware that Algore published a book in 2006 making the claim that in ten years we would face catastrophes? Are you aware that 2016 has come and gone? Are you aware that this is 2021, five years later? Is the deadly snowstorm the result of catastrophic climate change? Are you aware that the windmills and solar panels are Algore's and Kerry's prescription to head off catastrophes?
I believe that the hand of God is showing many people just how small and devious Gates, Kerry, and Algore are!!
NR, go away!!

I worked with Bill Gates twice.
The first time, his handler kept a pair of clean, pristine eyeglasses for Gates to use on camera. When the interview was over she took them back and gave him the smeary ones he had worn earlier. He whined that he wanted to keep the clean ones, but she knew the clean ones would be a mess in a matter of hours.
The second time, when he sat down in the chair for Hair & Makeup to fix him for the camera his handler said to the make-up artist "When you get to his nose hair, go to town."
This is the guy who wants to run your life and mine?

Why is it that the rich want to run our lives, or buy our future by funding liberal politicians or causes? Why can't they fund causes that Make America Great by allowing people to freely be their best? Control and power come to mind.

#2, that's exactly what Steve Jobs did, too. Wozniak invented the Apple computer, Jobs just was the marketing guy. Woz got rich, too, but Jobs ran the show. It happens all the time.

People in Texas are trying to survive in single digit temperatures with no heat (gas or electricity). This is a climate catastrophe for the many feeling the brutal weather. Those politicians who have stood in the way of having backup for the citizens in times of emergency deserve to reap the result. Natural gas is a clean burning fuel and that is no reason for not building another power plant. The government does not want any. There are no incentives to build new plants, therefore, no one will invest in building any new ones.

LIke a retired person who finds out that doing "nothing" is untenable, Gates runs around looking for things to do, sadly, out of his purview. In some places such persons are known as seagulls - they fly in, crap all over the place, then leave. As previous poster made clear, he was known for one thing and even that wasn't unique.
Apologies to the gulls.

In Germany they heat with wood burning stoves and in the towns there is a thick layer of smoke everywhere. When I was there I asked some people why nd they told me they can't afford to heat with anything else. Unintended consequences.

When I was in the infantry stationed in Germany, I loved their forests. They were so clean, the deadwood was used for heating. Forest misters were responsible for the clean forests. That was years ago, perhaps has changed with the times.

Me thinks that Gates is desperately trying to divert attention from the reality that it was HIS pandemic models that the blue states were using to keep their boots on our throats for all those extra months. Gates can't even pull off working software that doesn't need patching, and he expects us to think he can solve climate problems? The errors he wants to enforce on the rest of us, you just don't come back from so easily.
Gates is a hardcore depopulationist when it comes to everybody outside his own family. He is one sick puppy.

I am just rereading "State of Fear", by Michael Crichton. Great, useful references about climate change hoax.

To build on #4 - does this clown ever look in a mirror?? Lose the Mr Rogers sweaters and sweater vests and go buy a comb - he always looks like he just rolled out of bed.

Why was there no Global Warming when millions of buffalo roamed the plains, and all the human population burned a variety of hydrocarbons for heat, light, and cooking?
