National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins contradicted the Biden Administration on Sunday when he said the Trump Administration deserves credit for the “breathtaking” coronavirus vaccine development. “The Operation Warp Speed, for which I give a great deal of credit to [former HHS Secretary Alex Azar], was a[n] effort that many of us were not initially convinced was going to be necessary. And it was thought about as a Manhattan Project,” Collins saiCollins also noted vaccines “got done in 11 months from when we first knew about this virus is at least five years faster than it’s ever been before.”

No masks, no lockdowns, no social distancing, no more rules about the size of citizens gathering. Grinning, malevolent, communist death democrat slag illegally put in place over another totalitarian government agency of a federal government out to enslave us. We will no obey any longer. Covid 19 is a ridiculous minor disease that only affects really susceptible sick people. Everybody else it's a sniffle. You want to wear a mask and look stupid and uninformed, feel free. You want to help them put the boot heel on your neck and keep it there, feel free. Real medical people need not apply.

#6, I have known two people who were not visibly ill yet died from covid. One was 24 years old and died at the beginning of awareness of covid (that person was overweight), the other was 65 and seemed healthy, worked a physical job, on her feet all day. Most people do recover, but covid can be deadly to people who are not outwardly sick or weak.

In other news today, National Institute of Health boss Francis Collins announced that he has voluntarily stepped aside and will accept a post with the NIH remote outreach post in Antartica, effective immediately. He was last seen walking out of the office carrying a cardboard box. And a heavy, winter jacket.

Francis Collins is a brave person. He is also probably next on the Biden hit list. Look for an early retirement announcement soon or a transfer to somewhere that his skills would be "more in line with administration goals" like researching radioactive lichen in the Antarctic for the next 4 years. He committed a cardinal sin in the Biden administration: He acknowledged and dared to compliment the Trump administration Covid-19 efforts and vaccine. I'm surprised he wasn't arrested for treason.

Isupport Nancy Pelosi’s call for a ‘9/11-style inquiry’ into the mêlée at the Capitol on January 6. I do so not because I think there is any valid analogy between the terrorist attack on the United States by Muslim fanatics on September 11, 2001 and the low-level riot at the Capitol. There isn’t. On 9/11 some 3,000 innocent people were murdered, billions of dollars of property was obliterated and important symbols of American economic and military might were attacked, utterly destroyed in the case of the World Trade Towers, seriously damaged in the case of the Pentagon. On January 6, a pro-Trump rally

What causes wars? Innately aggressive cultures and governments, megalomania, the desire for power, resources, and empire prompt nations to bully or attack others. Less rational Thucydidean motives such as fear and honor and perceptions of self-interest are not to be discounted either. But what allows these preemptive or aggressive agendas to reify, to take shape, and to leave tens of thousands dead? The less culpable target (and wars are rarely a matter of 50/50 culpability) also has a say in what causes wars. The invaded and assaulted sometimes overlooked or contextualized serial and mounting aggression. They displayed real military weakness or simple political ineptness that eroded deterrence.

Last Friday, during President Biden’s G7 debut, he announced a $4 billion program to assist in the distribution of coronavirus vaccine to poor nations. This is more than a little ironic, considering the chaotic vaccine rollout over which he has presided in the United States. It is particularly so in view of the ineptitude with which Biden’s fellow Democrats in blue states have managed their distribution programs, which have been far less efficient than their red state counterparts. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for example, West Virginia has delivered twice as many full (two-dose) vaccinations per 100,000 residents than has California.

You’ve heard the expression that the coverup is worse than the crime? Well, in the case of New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D), the opposite might be true. Cuomo is under bipartisan fire after an aide admitted that his administration deliberately delayed releasing information showing the true extent of covid-19 deaths in New York nursing homes, out of fears, according to the aide, that the information “was going to be used against us.” Stonewalling the Justice Department is bad enough, but Cuomo did something even worse: His administration provided inaccurate data to public health officials in real time, at the beginning of the crisis,

The public health community has long since concluded that the perils of prolonged school closures are far greater than the risks posed by COVID-19 to students and teachers. This fact has not been lost on parents, who are growing increasingly impatient with teachers who won’t return to the classroom. This frustration will increase exponentially now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued new guidance on how schools can and should safely reopen: “It is critical for schools to open as safely and as soon as possible, and remain open, to achieve the benefits of in-person learning and key support services.”

Governor Greg Abbott requested statewide designation for major disaster relief from President Biden. Biden denied the statewide designation and only approved some counties in Texas, not all of them. Abbott asked for a declaration that covered the entire state because the winter storm knocked out power and heat throughout the state, as well as leaving millions of Texans without water. Texas has 254 counties. Biden approved only 77 counties for disaster relief. The governor calls it an important first step but it falls far short of what Texas officials requested.
