It was for your own good. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce coordinated with a bevy of left-wing activists, unions, and others to “fortify” the 2020 election for Joe Biden. The Chamber is getting the open borders it wants and the soft-on-China policy it wants, all to the detriment of working families. Of course, in the Time recounting of a year-long initiative that pulled every lever of power in the country, the Chamber’s motives were pure, to ensure a fair and unquestionable election. To do this, the Chamber helped to change election laws nationwide, destroying election integrity in multiple swing states and demonizing anyone who questioned the results.

Leftist Mayor of London Sadiq Khan unveiled a Black Lives Matter inspired ‘diversity’ commission on Tuesday, which will review all historical monuments in the British capital. Mr Khan’s Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm, which is comprised of left-wing activists and celebrities, will seek to “improve diversity” in London, targeting statues, street names, memorials, and building names. The stated intention of the group will be to determine what “legacies should be celebrated” and to increase representation among “Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, women, LGTBQ+ and disabled groups,” a press release from the mayor’s office said.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has only been in office a little over two months, but he is already a boil on the side of Lady Justice. Gascon has not only raised the ire of the Deputy District Attorneys in his office, but of District Attorneys in other counties across the State. Gascon’s “Special Directives” are being disregarded by local and regional law enforcement, and the liberal-leaning District Attorneys Union has filed a restraining order against him. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark Arnold, and Judge James C. Chalfant have recently neutered Gascon’s policies of removing enhancements and special circumstances in criminal cases, and not enforcing three-strike allegations.

Mitt Romney is a spring chicken. At a sprightly 73, the GOP’s 2012 nominee is: one year younger than the outgoing president and 2024 frontrunner, five years younger than both the incumbent president and the Senate minority leader, and seven years younger than the Speaker of the House. In the uppermost echelons of American government, only the Senate majority leader—boy wonder Chuck Schumer—is any younger, and only by three years.

A French nun who is Europe's oldest person has survived Covid-19, just days before her 117th birthday. Lucile Randon, who took the name of Sister Andre in 1944, tested positive for coronavirus on 16 January but didn't develop any symptoms. She told local media she "didn't even realise I had it". She isolated separately from other residents in her retirement home in Toulon, southern France, but is now considered fully recovered. Sister Andre, who is blind and uses a wheelchair, is now looking forward to celebrating her birthday on Thursday - although she is going to mark the occasion with a

A scientist on the WHO's controversial fact-finding mission to Wuhan has today launched an extraordinary attack on US intelligence—saying it is 'wrong on many aspects' about Covid. Peter Daszak, a British-American expert in pandemics, warned people not 'to rely too much' on information coming out of the US and instead to 'trust' Chinese data. He also accused President Biden of 'trying to look tough on China' after a State Department spokesman questioned whether Beijing had been fully open with the WHO investigation.(Snip) But Daszak's own credibility is in question after it emerged the organisation he heads, the EcoHealth Alliance,

The claim is so pervasive as not to be questioned: Five people died as a result of the January 6 “insurrection” at the Capitol building, killed by blood-thirsty Trump voters at the president’s behest, out for revenge over a stolen election.
Even though only one death—the shooting of Ashli Babbitt by a still-unidentified police officer—is provable by video evidence, the other fatalities nonetheless are accepted as an article of faith to stoke public outrage about what happened that day.
The most tragic death, the media and lawmakers lament, is that of United States Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick.(Snip) himself a supporter of Donald Trump.

The bulk of seniors who are at risk from COVID have either died of the disease, survived the disease or been vaccinated against the disease. New cases are dropping quickly.
Over ten percent of the overall American population has been vaccinated – over 40 million of them – and that figure is increasing at the rate of about 11 million a week. It looks like nearly everyone who wants to be vaccinated will be vaccinated by late spring. Meanwhile, drug treatments have proved increasingly effective. Most recently, the FDA approved a drug cocktail from Eli Lilly.
There will come a time when COVID masks are no longer necessary.

One of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s first actions after confirmation has been to order a “60 day stand down” to combat extremism. This follows the widespread and mostly baseless establishment fantasy that “right-wing extremists” and “white supremacists” are running rampant and pose some immediate threat to the country.
The details and definitions will ultimately determine whether this campaign is a sensible one that is in keeping with the Constitution or ends up being a purge of the overwhelmingly conservative ranks of the military. No reasonable person would object to removing dangerous and disloyal people from the service, but such a limited goal is distinct from punishing those with merely dissenting

Given that there have been only four presidential impeachments in American history, and given that only one man has twice suffered the indignity, viewers who tuned into the start of Donald Trump’s second Senate trial had a right to expect a buzz of excitement and a sense of drama.
What they got instead was buzz-kill and all the drama of watching paint dry. Who knew impeachment could be so lifeless and history so meaningless?
Certainly Chief Justice John Roberts knew. His refusal to preside reveals the exercise to be a cheap knockoff rather than the real thing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stands accused of violating federal law by inflating Coronavirus fatality numbers, according to stunning information obtained by NATIONAL FILE.
CDC illegally inflated the COVID fatality number by at least 1,600 percent as the 2020 presidential election played out, according to a study published by the Public Health Initiative of the Institute for Pure and Applied Knowledge. Put this one in the “we had to burn the village to save it” column of bad ideas … again. Despite the obvious unconstitutionality of the plan, McClatchy reports that Democrats still want to keep the so-called 14th Amendment Option in reserve in the all-too-certain case that the impeachment trial results in an acquittal for Donald Trump. Democrats want to defend the Constitution by violating one of its core controls on congressional power, it seems: House and Senate Democrats may push ahead this week with a censure resolution to bar former President Donald Trump from holding future office over his role in the U.S. Capitol riot

If you read the headline of a blockbuster, 6,000-word-plus story in Time magazine, you might think former President Donald Trump wasn’t so wrong about the election, after all.
Despite the tease, Molly Ball’s “Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election” doesn’t allege widespread voter fraud in what some Trump supporters still insist was a “stolen” election. Nor is the essay an exposé of illegal activity that would justify the Trumpian challenges to the results that threatened to tear the country apart.
But what Time did uncover is disturbing enough, even if most of those involved are proud of what they did

Interestingly Politico is picking up on a fear amid the GOPe (establishment) that President Trump will likely not only survive the second insufferable impeachment effort, but he is likely to exit stronger than ever…. and that means retaliation against the DeceptiCon class of republicans.
This is the blind spot of the UniParty, their inability to see that smart Americans have identified their motives and are prepared to destroy them.
This is the aspect CTH warned about(Snip) The GOPe is so fraught with elitist perspectives, it continues to assemble as a hopeless echo-chamber, and they never see what is happening at the grassroots level in Middle-America.

Voltaire’s apocryphal maxim “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it” is in the process of being turned squarely on its head. Today, a more suitable rendering might read: “I disapprove of what you say, you are exiled, goodbye.”
To be adequately maintained, classical liberalism demands three key virtues. Humility, so that each of society’s competing factions might comprehend that it will not always hold power. Tolerance, so that the habitual reaction to a difference of opinion is the shrug rather than the bayonet. And forbearance, so that the immediate rush of victory can be subordinated to longer-term ambition.

If you think state and federal government COVID-19 policies are too restrictive, you haven’t been to a college campus lately. Schools across the country have imposed extreme, micromanaging rules on 19-22 year olds—a demographic more likely to die from the seasonal flu and pneumonia than COVID. (Snip)
Many schools, like Southern Methodist University, forbid students from having guests in their dorm rooms. Others have even installed security cameras in the hallways aimed at residents’ doors to monitor adherence.
Most institutions have isolation dorms or, as some students call them, “isolation prisons,” where students who test positive for COVID are forced to live alone for two weeks (sound familiar?).

Conservative congressmembers filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and now hope to prohibit enriching relatives through the campaigning process.

Midwives have been told to stop using terms including "breastfeeding" and “breastmilk” as part of a new trans-friendly policy at an NHS trust.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) NHS Trust is the first in the country to formally implement a gender inclusive language policy for its maternity services department — which will now be known as "perinatal services".
Staff (snip) have been given a list of alternative terms to use when addressing patients including "mothers or birthing parents", "breast/chestfeeding" and "maternal and parental".
Instead of saying "breastmilk", they can choose from "human milk" or "breast/chestmilk" or "milk from the feeding mother or parent".

Senators Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania joined all 50 Democrats in voting to uphold the constitutionality of [Trump's post-presidency impeachment] trial.
First, concerning a certain Senate Democrat: you too, Joe Manchin?
Clearly, the Republican senators listed above have, by their vote against the express language of the Constitution, made common cause with the rabid Senate Democrats

For years folks have debated the value of bitcoin. Warren Buffett has declared it a gigantic hoax. Economists have struggled to see if it fits in the convention of money. (snip) But now the debate has been settled. Elon Musk, our new arbiter of all that is in and out, has purchased $1.5 billion in bitcoin and announced that Tesla plans to accept it as payment. Bitcoin predictably has jumped to a record high, in excess of $46,000, and now is up more than eight-fold in the past year. Since Nov. 3rd, one particular line has been repeated almost to the point of becoming a meme: “There will never be another honest election in this country.” (snip) This reflects conservative defeatism. A year has passed since the last US service member was killed in combat in Afghanistan — the first such stretch since the war started almost 20 years ago, a report said Tuesday. The last two Americans who died in battle in the country — Army Sgts. 1st Class Javier Gutierrez and Antonio Rodriguez — were slain on Feb. 8, 2020, Stars and Stripes reported. But the period of calm, which coincides with the US-Taliban peace deal, could be threatened if the US decides to keep troops in Afghanistan past a May 2021 deadline, the military newspaper reported.

Give the green shirts long enough and they will reveal their true intentions. This happened most recently when a Massachusetts official said “we have to break” the will of the average person to cut greenhouse gas emissions. It’s another in a long line of admissions made by the climatistas – thank you, Steven Hayward, for adding that descriptive term to our lexicon – that inadvertently exposes their authoritarian urges.

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan and Sarah Palin locked horns in a heated interview on Tuesday concerning former President Trump and alleged election fraud. Morgan insisted there was no evidence of voter fraud and Palin was ready and willing to spar over it. Palin adamantly claims there were “shenanigans” in the 2020 presidential election. Piers Morgan demanded that she admit it was a fair election and that Biden won in the end. That led to a tense exchange of political opinion. The first thing that happened was when co-host Susanna Reid tried to box Palin into a corner forcing her to admit that Trump actually told supporters to riot.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said Tuesday that his franchise would no longer play the national anthem prior to his team's NBA home games. It's a long-standing tradition to play the anthem before home games in all major professional sports, and even all the way down to high school athletics.
Cuban said that will come to an end with the Mavericks.
The national anthem hasn't been played at any Mavericks games so far at the American Airlines Center this season—preseason or regular-season games. Cuban told ESPN that he consulted with NBA commissioner Adam Silver before letting the rest of the world know about his decision, ESPN reported.

People may need to get vaccinated against Covid-19 annually, just like seasonal flu shots, over the next several years, Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky told CNBC on Tuesday. “Unfortunately, as [the virus] spreads it can also mutate,” he told CNBC’s Meg Tirrell during a Healthy Returns Spotlight event.(Snip) Public health officials and infectious disease experts have said there is a high likelihood that Covid-19 will become an endemic disease, meaning it will become present in communities at all times, though likely at lower levels than it is now. Health officials will have to continuously watch for new variants of the virus,
