LOS ANGELES—Fox Corp’s Fox Business Network has canceled “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” a weekday program hosted by the business journalist, the company said on Friday.
News of the cancellation came one day after Dobbs, 75, was named as a defendant in a defamation lawsuit filed by voting machine maker Smartmatic, which argued that three Fox hosts including Dobbs falsely accused the company of helping to rig the election against President Donald Trump.
Fox said the move to end Dobbs’ show had been in the works before the lawsuit as part of a revamp following the November 2020 presidential election in which Republican Trump was defeated by Democrat Joe Biden.

Fox is attempting to dig its way out of a hole (and, btw, the hole has a gravestone above it).

I watch Lou Daily. I'll follow Lou Dobbs to another network. I would think that Blaze TV, OANN, or Newsmax would be smart to make an offer to him.

Was this a management decision or one of the Murdoch children's spouse(s)?

FOX doesn't deserve Lou Dobbs. I hope he enjoys some well deserved time off and then gets his own prime time show on the Trump America First network that will dominate all news channels starting Day One!!

Will Fox and others fight this suit? I hope so. It's going to be expensive, but the discovery stage is going to be fun.

Fox News Channel should make it official and change their name to Sheep News Channel.

They didn't fire Lou Dobbs. They pulled his show off the air but kept him under contract which requires him to keep his mouth shut about the agreement or lose all his salary and benefits. I he speaks out on any competitor network they can cut him off without a cent. This was not about an editorial disagreement this was about muzzling dissent.

Am furious, and have both EMAILED AND CALLED Fox News AND SUGGEST ANY OTHERS WHO ARE UPSET DO THE SAME. Used to watch Martha McCallum at 7 p.m. EST but as it became obvious she was being forced to pull her punches re: the election I turned to Greg Kelly on NEWSMAX, a very nice man but not as sharp and on the $, so I went to my perennial Lou Dobbs and it was obvious nobody was pulling HIS strings. Sometimes I agreed with him, sometimes not, but always food for thought. Then WHOOF, he was gone last night. I pulled up the Thursday Dobbs that I had dvr-ed and he was at his best as always, but among those he mentioned briefly as being RINOS was Paul Ryan, now on the Fox board, and boy does it show. And POOF!!!!!!! Fox still has good guys like Levin and Carlson Steve Hilton and, amazingly, Waters et al. but Fox is making it very hard to stay tuned and certainly almost impossible to always trust them and have loyalty.....I could see that earlier with Neil Cavuto, a man I USED to trust, and certainly just having that detestable Chris Wallace arounds is disgusting. What, maybe 4 people watch Fox News Sunday?

And poster #9 is absolutely right about muzzling Dobbs, which makes them all the more detestable. I am a middle of the road Republican, not some rabid right winger, and I am beyond disgusted.

if they think they're going to silence Lou Dobbs they are living in an alternate universe. fox news should be ashamed to ever air any programs in the future. where's paul ryan? good comment #9.

Another nail in the Fox coffin. Asman IS a very FINE and thoughtful host, but he is no Dobbs. The pretenders running Fox now don't have much of a clue (what a surprise!) and have joined the trendy gaggle of Thought-Police GAGGERS seeking to stifle free speech (as Big Tech is doing) to suit their own agenda ... their own agenda runs contrary to the Founders' intent, but hey, nobody's perfect, right? Only Tucker & Hannoty are left worth watching on Fox now ... the rest are obedient sheep (like PRAVDA) ... Soon it'll be Buh Bye Fox.

I understand that Maria Bartolromo is also ones of the ones the voting machine company is targeting, and she is the very best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!! If she goes, we are GONE! Oh for Roger Ailes, who never would have put up with this!

Maria Bartiroma is a journalist and her Sunday programs always hit pay dirt. Fox is making a huge mistake by pulling these names off the network. I only watched her, Lou Dobbs and now and then Tucker. I’d rather watch Hallmark!!!

I don't think Dobbs will be bound by any contract, as Fox News has broken it, making it null and void. I would guess Fox decided to cut based on the lawsuit, and have not terminated the contract because notice is required. After the notice period is expired, I would guess that Dobbs will be gone.

I would bet that Fox did not want Lou Dobbs to say anything about this lawsuit and he refused, so they took him off the air. It will be interesting to see what Maria and the Judge do, considering they have also been named in the suit. Fox is really digging a grave for themselves

"Rabid Right Winger" here! I liked Reagan but thought him too liberal. Lou Dobbs is a man of honor and truth! He no longer belongs on the very liberal woke FNN. True Conservatives are being systematically shut down and silenced. It reminds me of Germany in the 30's! Never thought that I'd see it in the US, but then again something had to happen to bring about a world ruler (AntiChrist). We are watching it play out as the Bible spelled it out in Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelations. Amazing stuff! I belong to the Creator of The Universe. The Word! Jesus Christ so I'm not worried. All is well with my soul!

Fox News appears to be having a bout of Paul Ryan's Revenge, the side affects being a steady stream of a loss of viewers, and the lack of reliable on screen commentators. Couldn't happen to a more cynical cable network. And there is no Pepto Bismal to take to stop Ryan's Revenge.

“…planned changes” Otherwise Fox was going to have to explain why Dobbs as fired and Bartiromo and Pirro - also named defendants in Smartmatic’s lawsuit - were not.
