Parler CEO John Matze announced late Wednesday that he has been terminated as the company’s CEO.
Matze said that the Parler board on Jan. 29 decided to terminate his position, adding that he did not participate in the decision.
(Snip) “I understand that those who now control the company have made some communications to employees and other third parties that have unfortunately created confusion and prompted me to make this public statement.
“Over the past few months, I’ve met constant resistance to my product vision, my strong belief in free speech and my view of how the Parler site should be managed. For example, I advocated for more product stability and what I

I always look askance at those “boards” who oust the founders of successful companies, the persons who had the vision and guts to set them up in the first place. I am not especially a fan of Bongino, so view him as a publicity-seeker until I know more.

There is more to this story than we now know. I will be just listening and watching. Since I have NO interest in any sort of 'social media', EVER, it doesn't directly affect me. But, if we have no outlet for any comments from our leaders - they are successful at shutting us up.
So, I guess we need some web presence - and yet the big boys of the left are trying very, very hard to shut up everything that disagrees with their hideous, leftist, chaotic, un-free, dystopian nightmare.

Just another drama. CEOs come and go. This one went. Like I care. Don't go long on Parler.

There is always much more to know… but on the face of it this looks like more left-wing pressure. We have also watched the Mercers - Robert and Rebeckah - swing this way and that. Surely she knows nothing about internet social media so could be susceptible to pressure..
FTA:
Matze previously told The Epoch Times in mid-January that his company’s terms of service were approved by Apple, Amazon, and Google.
The technology giants had never indicated non-compliance, for the most part, before Parler saw an explosion of growth that occurred following the Twitter bans of prominent conservatives, including President Donald Trump. The wave of new arrivals left Parler scrambling to moderate its platform, Matze said.
He said that he believed the big tech companies’ decision against Parler is a “coordinated attack” to “kill competition in the market place.”
“We were too successful too fast,” he added.
Matze has always - so far - seemed like a decent, reasonable person. The only thing I know about Bongino is that he was apparently at various times an NYPD police officer and a Secret Service agent, with no mention of any distinction during those stints (why not now?) and that he’s just another noisy Fox personality. He leans shock-jock. Ran for Congress three times and failed.

The Epoch Times is a valuable source of information but understand it is associated with the Falun Gong, Chinese dissidents, blocked in mainland China.

OP, I believe her father was or is the power behind BB right now as well. Our news sources are being squeezed out, and if Bongino is a part of the problem, that truly disappoints me. Talk about shooting your credibility in the foot Dan. I truly hope you didn't have a part of this.

People - particularly left-wing Communist sympathizers - have demonized the Falun Gong - The only group in China who have resisted the Communist takeover. A further read about the Epoch Times than simply Wikipedia (a source that is not considered by thinking people to be reliable for more than dates and places of birth and such), will find the Epoch Times is a force for good in a world where that is almost never said about a news publisher.

For an interesting exercise re the Epoch Times, do a Google search and see who has come out against it: Left-wing publications like the New York Times, The Atlantic, NBC News, and so forth. A real piling on using words like “conspiracy theories” and “brainwashing” and trying to relate their news reporting to QAnon. Be serious. They are a straightforward news reporting company that seems to me to include much more factual information than other outlets. And I have not noticed spin. They are Conservative. Is that not OK? Is that suspect?

Rebekah Mercer and her sisters apparently also have a big stake in Breitbart.

Parler is controlled by Rebekah Mercer, daughter of billionaire Republican Robert Mercer. Dan Bongino, a Parler investor of unknown magnitude, has jumped into this rather harshly against founder Matze. This is a detailed article from a reliable publication.
