Twin Cities-based General Mills is honoring an Olympic champion who remains an enduring symbol of the 1960s protest movement by putting his image on Wheaties boxes. Tommie Smith, who won gold in the 200 meters at the 1968 Summer Games, is being portrayed on one side of the cereal box with fist raised and on the other side in full sprint.(Snip) After winning the 200-meter final in Mexico City, Smith made the Black Power salute upon receiving his gold medal, while Team USA teammate John Carlos did the same from the bronze medal spot on the awards podium.

So, what Woke General Mills is telling us is, despite the hundreds of billions paid by the racist white government in Welfare, Affirmative Action, food stamps, free housing, set asides, minority contracts, and other "Reparations" programs at the tax burden of white Americans, the race problem HASN'T IMPROVED OVER THE PAST 53 YEARS.
I want a refund of my money. And I am tired of hearing nothing but race, race, race

They also need to change the name of the product. How about "Pander Flakes" ?

No more General Mills cereals for us. From now on the only cold cereal we buy will be Aldi's version of name brand cereals.

Now I have to look for GM products in the pantry so I can throw them out. Oh wait! Maybe Iâll let them get stale and mildewy and then send them back to General Mills. This resistance is going to be fun.

#4 is so right. If they are going to assume I'm racist because of skin color then I have nothing to do with them. No buying their products, No giving to charities. Nothing! Lets see them make it in life without our
help.

Darn, I looked forward to turning the boxes backwards.

Got no problem with that. Lyndon Johnson (Democrat, war monger, eugenicist) was President in 1968. The olympics were in October, a month before Nixon won the election. Would we really be angry, (should they ever have another olympics), that olympians raise a fist while joe biden is preezy?

My next door neighbor was in the 68 Olympics and she never was on a Wheaties box. She was the first women to win 3 Gold medals. I would think she would merit being on the box. (Debbie Meyers)

Minnesota's main population centers have become more like Serbia or Somalia than Scandinavia. Since I don't live in a glass house, is hasn't escaped me that within my own home state, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio have become more like Minnesota than non-urban Texas.

My husband was in Vietnam during 1968 (including Tet); my dad was in Thailand. Both were in the military fighting for this country and so that morons like these guys could put their tiny fists in the air and protest their perceived "injustice." I consider my husband and dad heroes. The morons, not so much. Needless to say, I won't be buying any products from virtue-signaling GMills in the future.

I've often used the 1968 Olympic Black Power salute as a turning point for urban black culture. Significant gains were taking place for black families. Then, the Black Power movement resulted in a cultural rebellion. A segment of the population rejected "All things white", including education and family responsibilities.

#27, threats by organized extortion rackets who masquerade as champions of some supposedly oppressed members of the population. As in, ânice cereal factory youâve got here. Itâd be a shame for it to be firebombed during the next violent BLM protest.â General Mills execs arenât altogether stupid, just weak.

Right #10. I go to Aldi first, then to Kroger if I have to. Aldi has good products and they are all very similar. I can get in, find what I want, and be on my way in usually 20 minutes.

OK, another cereal on my "never buy list". It turns out that there are other brands of cereals which are just as good and I have switched from Kellogg. Nothing Kellogg in my house. So, Gen. Mills joining the list.
