If there has been one politician on these pages we have WARNED ABOUT over the years it is Senator Mitch McConnell. The Senate Majority Leader is the most conniving, cunning and Machiavellian member of the republican party.
With his positions solidifying CTH warnings for well over a decade, his actions over the past several weeks now highlight the dark background of his politics. Today, McConnell took the final stab at the people’s president as Donald Trump prepares to depart the White House. The bloom is off the ruse: (Video)The institution of the modern UniParty senate chamber requires a voter to understand the shell game.

The article is about Mitch McConnell. Historically. Before Trump. About the 60 vote (2/3 majority).
Why does McConnell prefer the minority position?
The answer is where you have had to actually follow Mitch McConnell closely to see how he works. When the Majority has around 52 to 55 seats, they need McConnell to give them 8 to 9 votes to overcome the three-fifths (60 vote) threshold for their legislative needs. It is in the process of trade and payment for those 8 to 9 votes where McConnell makes more money, and holds more power, than as a sitting Majority Leader.
The 60 vote threshold, and McConnell’s incredible skillset in the minority, is where he shines. Each of the needed votes to achieve sixty is worth buckets of indulgence to the minority leader and those on K-Street who need the Senate to support their legislative constructs. The votes to get to sixty are worth a lot of money.

Trump's final gift to this nation...the dropping of the masks revealing the duplicitous traitors in ALL our institutions and major companies. They have now self-identified their true allegiances. will be most useful for the eventual sorting out.

Oh Mitch.... such sweet sweet CCP cash filling your bank account.
Must be nice to sell out your country, take big cash for it, claim to be concerned and a champion for America... and get away with it.
We'd all live so much better if our Chinese wife's family worked for the CCP through her dad's Chinese government company.

The Turtle is basically furious that Trump let his anger over the fraud in the electoral system (that cost him his victory) be his focus, when he shmpiuld have been focusing on the Republicans in Georgia, and thus lost the Senate. Much as I love Trump, I have to agree that this was egregious.

I respectfully disagree with #16 in a big way. It seems like you are asking for someone to turn their cheek to all of the fraud. Yep, that is what happened in the 2018 race between Tony Evers and Scott Walker. It didn't do diddly squat for Scott Walker to concede and never find out where the 3-4 bags came from in the midnight hour.
Overlooking something only kicks the can down the road. . .

#16, if you think the Senate was lost because of Pres. Trump, you must not have understood either that he DID focus on the Republicans in Georgia or that the electoral fraud you cite didn't mysteriously disappear when Georgians went to vote.

Apparently the snake (not the turtle, snakes are evil, turtles are not), didn't hear or watch the speech that President Trump made. He is part of the swamp. He's like the kid on the playground that goes along with everyone until trouble starts and then he goes and snitches on everyone. Good going snake.

Mitch knew he had a choice. Either he would sit high and parched on a fence post or we Constitutionalists would. He chose to sacrifice us and continue to enrich himself and live the good life in DC. It’s still our choice whether or not whether he remains there, at least as an elected official.

Now we will clearly see the RINO traitors expose themselves. Remember them in the next primary election. If anyone with the R label votes to impeach Donald Trump, I will never financially support the RNC or its Congressional and Senatorial sub organizations. I will directly support those candidates that have proven their conservative reliability. I plan to remain a registered republican so I can vote against the RINO's in the 2022 election, but after that I will register with Trump's Patriot Party. Jimmy Carter caused me to depart the democrat party, and now it appears that Mitch McConnell will cause me to leave the republican party.

McConnell survived his last election solely because President Trump publicly supported him and worked to get him re-elected. And now, like most Republi-Can'ts, he turns on the President and stabs him in the back!!!!
This is why the Republi-Can't Party is dead to me. I am now a "Conservative Independent". I will never vote for a Demon-Rat, because they are pure evil. But I will only support true conservatives directly. Never another penny to the Republi-Can't Party. If I find a solid conservative running as a Republi-Can't, I will support him directly to his campaign.
But I pray constantly that we will finally stop this insanity and start a competitive Conservative Party in this country so that the useless and ever more evil Republi-Can't Party can finally die!!!!!

There's something more than political disagreement, or policy or $$$, it's personal, it's vindictive, it sounds like the kind of hatred that is irrational, generational, without a real wrong having been committed. Is it as "simple" as Trump not accepting the hoary Deep State Institution's choice of Biden? Is Trump just to disruptive, and all these old codgers don't like their routines disturbed? Maybe McCain still haunts them in their nightmares.
impeach
That sneer on McConnell's face, the way his lips twisted... that is hatred. He wanted Trump gone. And maybe he's made another "cunning and Machiavellian" bargain with Schumer to benefit themselves and "their good friend, Biden" whom they've known for such a long time. Maybe Schumer promised not to pack the courts or change the rules in the Senate.
impeach
Maybe they just plain like each other a bunch. They're such good buds. right
impeach
Both Chambers reek of political favors, of winking at perversity and amorality of all kinds, of which "filthy lucre" might be the least of it. All of us who have read and studied history know exactly what this portends. Then one day, Donald Trump came down the escalator, marched out onto the railroad tracks stood there as the speeding locomotive approached. And he stood there with the engine huffing and puffing, and, damn, the passengers and everyone connected were determined to get theirs... and grinding President Trump into the tracks, well, it had to be done.

Re: #16 Half the blame for Georgia goes to Mitch McConnell who chose the WORST candidate, Kelly Loeffler, when he could have chosen Representative Doug Collins. Problem for Mitch was Representative Collins was more conservative than Mitch wanted to deal withl.
Kelly Loeffler just wanted to look pretty and "play" Senator. Did you notice she did not do daytime radio and very little evening Conservative TV. Kelly's husband is wealthy and Mitch wanted the money Kelly would bring with her.
