‘Mischief Making’: Politico Boss Defends Handing
Playbook Over to Right-Wing Bombthrower

Politico is facing backlash on Thursday—both internally and externally—for handing over the keys to its signature news product for the day to Ben Shapiro, an oft-incendiary right-wing commentator. “We published a piece by a very prominent writer, provocateur, and podcaster. We stand by every word in there, it was very closely edited,” the outlet’s top editor Matt Kaminski said as part of his response to staffers during a Thursday meeting. At another point, the top editor added: “Mischief making has always been a part of Politico’s secret sauce. We were an upstart. Some of that sensibility is always going to be a part of this publication.”

Triggered, traumatized and forever stigmatized.

Like vampires, the left can not stand being exposed to the light... of reason. It is actually painful for them to think about any idea that isn't some warmed over communist hate.

I would hardly describe Ben Shapiro as a "Right-Wing Bombthrower." I do listen to his radio program a couple times a week and find him to be fair and have a razor-sharp intellect.

Occasionally I listen to Ben Shapiro's podcast which appears on a local radio station. I quite enjoy him even though he never appreciated why and how President Trump fought and didn't passively take crap. Since the election Shapiro has consistently maintained allegations of massive fraud are not based on facts. That argument I can accept since most courts summarily dismissed such cases as were filed. What I find incomprehensible is how a supporter of the Constitution seems to have no problem with Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin conducting what many Constitution legal experts consider unconstitutional election procedures. Shapiro is now ready to jettison Trump, although he defends the President's supporters. He does recognize that freedom of speech is under an unprecedented attack yet still is clueless on how to protect it. He himself is a victim of intolerance on college campuses yet still is unable to recognize that the era of polite reasoning is over. The President is needed now more than ever. I hope he doesn't fade into the background.

All who disagree with Ben's thoughts, ideas and positions should go on his show and debate him. Never going to do that because he will shred their ideas in a logical, non-emotional way leaving them calling for their Mama to rescue them

After chaos engulfed the U.S. Capitol last week, some Chinese intellectuals found themselves searching for copies of an out-of-print book to make sense of events. “America Against America” forecast the U.S.’s decline due to domestic conflicts more than 30 years ago. Among the things driving demand was the author: Wang Huning, the Communist Party’s No. 5 leader and top political theorist to three Chinese presidents. Some copies have surged to more than 16,600 yuan ($2,500) on Kungfuzi, an online marketplace for antiques. That’s more than 3,000 times its original asking price in 1991, when Japan was more widely seen as America’s big economic rival.

President-elect Joe Biden's pitch for unity is sounding off-key as the Senate prepares to conduct its second impeachment trial of President Trump in a year, according to Republicans. Biden voiced hopes the Republican Party would have a post-Trump “epiphany” shortly after he announced his candidacy in 2019. But almost two years later, he's having his words used against him as Republicans grapple with Trump's imminent departure from office. Vice President Mike Pence set the tone when he urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not to "further divide and inflame the passions of the moment." Pence wrote that in response to Pelosi's 24-hour ultimatum that he invoke the Constitution's 25th Amendment against Trump, or

It’s no secret that Facebook constantly censors content, but a recent investigation from Vice has the outlet suddenly upset that censorship might even happen to them. The platform has reportedly censored some groups just for using the word “men” and liberals don’t grasp the irony that they can’t say “men are trash.” Vice’s investigation claimed that Facebook is “cracking down” on groups “dedicated to discussing everyday injustices in the patriarchal world that we live in.” These groups reportedly violated “Facebook’s standard for hate speech for seemingly simply mentioning the word ‘men.’” By saying bad things about “men” as a group, not individual men.
