Aides to President-elect Biden say that he will propose another massive pandemic relief bill costing $2 trillion dollars. It will include $2,000 individual checks for taxpayers.Biden will outline more of the plan later on Thursday, but Senate Democrats are also talking seriously about merging pandemic relief with a completely unrelated infrastructure bill. It’s likely the total cost for both measures together will exceed $3 trillion. Moreover, Democrats are discussing ways to use budget reconciliation to pass most of their legislation. This would mean the filibuster would be off the table

Do we have to kick in 10% for the Big Guy, or can we keep the whole thing?

The bidding war starts. Biden's in for $2T. Senate's in for $3T. By the time they are done, it will be $7T.

Annual GDP is in the neighborhood of 20 trillion plus. With another few trillion, the feds will have borrowed one half of the entire country's economic output.
Tax revenue is as follows:
FY 2020$3.71 trillion (estimated)
FY 2019$3.46 trillion (actual)
What they have done and are going to do is just abject insanity.

Why not a $5,000 kabillion dollar relief bill? Then we will all be bazillionairs! Seriously this handing out money the US doesn't have is ludicrous. The treasury does not contain 3 trillion dollars, and no person, country or entity has 3 trillion to loan us so where exactly does this money come from? It is either, it doesn't exist, they are just numbers on a screen. My question is how much longer this loonacy can continue?

Rob from the rich. So the military was rich. Buh-bye military. This pains me. I want to see us the strongest, baddest, best equipped (and paid) military in the world. Oh well. Sigh. I won't be telingl my kids to re-enilst anymore as it will not be in their best interest.

I'm sorry to say that President Trump was just as profligate as Bush and Obama. All three will pale to the profligacy we will see over the next two years and maybe forever if our federal elections are conducted in the manner they were this time around.

No whining here. Few said jack opposing the other trillions tossed the public as "stimulus". This money is green, like that other good guy's stuff was. Just more numbers from that long-empty vault beneath the Treasury of the United States. Like those loaves and fishes. What a wonderful country we have. I don't know of any other country that did this for its citizens...well, for everybody! We're all socialists now...

Is Biden going to follow Trump's example and donate his salary to the government. Maybe some reporter should ask him where he is sending his first installment.

I've said it before, the main way to take excess cash out of the economy to avoid inflation is to raise interest rates. And there's a big difference between 0% interest on $30T in debt and 20% or 30% interest on $30T in debt. That is unless we want to pay $500 for a hamburger and eliminate SS, Medicare, Medicaid and the military.
We could always start printing our own money at home (with a government approved printer - of course) and go full Weimar Republic or Venezuela.

Biden just read off his teleprompter a big time “snow job” aimed at the American people laying out a long list of handing out money and telling the country that the country must back everything that he and his VP decide to do. To bad the DC Democrat political crowd and their media propagandists never did that for Trump. I guess we will see what happens.

If larger checks are to be given, they should go only to small businesses that were forced to close and lost money. Us retired folk who chose to retire have enough, I think, it’s working people who have lost money and need some financial help.

Biden trying to buy back support. The way they are spending and printing money $2000 will only buy you a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread with the inflation it will cause. Venezuela , here we come.

Again, do the math. $2000 x 300,000,000 = $600 Billion.
So, the other $1,400 Billion is what, just rounding up? No, I suppose it will be yet more overseas money laundering for kickbacks to the politicians and their families?
This is simply obscene.
