Yesterday, with nine days left before Democrats take total control of the federal government, stunning news rocked the worlds of conservative media. (snip) the new program lineup at Fox News, scheduled to launch on January 18 – represent[s] the most significant changes in the channel’s daytime and early prime time schedule since 2017. (snip) Numerous media outlets have reported in the past two months about the precipitous decline in Fox News’s ratings dominance especially in the daytime. The fact that the 7 P.M. hour has not yet been assigned a permanent host suggests that the shake-up of the schedule has not been planned much in advance.

But if they don't, sorry--would love to see you again but not that much. So long Fox. Wallow in your stupidity and new found "wokeness" as your profits tumble.

Fox News lost it's cachet. They've become old and predictable. However, I still enjoy watching Tucker. But I get him on the YouTube channel a little later in the evening. I must say, he was on fire last night. Tucker is still the best they have along with Maria on Sunday Mornings. I dropped subscribing to cable a few years ago. My Roku and streaming serves me well. Personally, I think 24 hour news has become an old pair shoes. It has seen its day. Why should I sit in front the TV screen at night for hours to watch people talk about news items I read hours before on my computer or cell.

Their news hosts like Martha and Bret Baier have been noticeably anit-Trump and this must change. There is almost no "news" on the myriad of so called news outlets. They mostly have opinions and guests voicing their opinions about events. Even the alphabet channels report news as they want it presented (or not presented), thus opinions.

This does not surprise that they were forced to make a change as viewers flock to other networks. I wonder how they are going to approach the Biden administration. Will they be as hard on him as they were on Trump? If they lean favorable towards Biden and his administration, more viewers will leave and they will go off the air.

I do not trust Fox anymore. Every time something happens that management suspects Judge Jeannine or Lou Dobbs will have a different opinion, they send them on vacation, censoring their voices. Then they reappear, and never are allowed to take up the subject. Even Mark Levin and Sean Hannity choose their words carefully. Trump was the only anchor Fox had. Trump was always on. Now they have stabbed Trump in the back, and no one is interested. Fox has become like Democrats, their product looking the same. They say time for Trump to move on. Trump is me as far as beliefs, so I am moving on.

I quit watching in 2015 when they waylaid Donald Trump in the debates I gradually tapered them off. Carlson, Ingraham and motor mouth Hannity aren't enough to make me watch. Irrelevant. I have not watched Fox News since about Nov 4, and won't do it again, ever. For the last 25 years, Fox News has been on in our home EVERY night for at least one, usually two hours every single day. I DVR'd Brett Baier's show every night, and watched it during dinner or just after, usually watched O'Reilly every night. I DVR'd Tucker when his show started, and often other shows. My dismay started with the first question asked by Megyn Kelly of Trump in the first debate. It has been steadily downhill since then as the Murdochs worked hard to remove conservative after conservative, O'Reilly, Bolling, and more as they used whatever means necessary to clean out the really conservative people on the air. The last six or eight months before election I was still recording Baier's show, but found myself fast forwarding through more and more of the unwatchable Biden propaganda sections, which came to dominate, and in his panel section, mostly leftists and Dem insiders pushing anti-Trump garbage dominated. By October, I was only watching 10 minutes of the show, FFWDing through the rest as garbage. After the election, I was DONE with Fox. I have not watched it once since, and that won't change. OAN is where I watch a little bit of new, but mostly I have tuned out TV new almost entirely. The country has been taken over about 80% by leftist, liars and thieves in the "news" by the Enemedia and in most of the politicians. At least 2/3 of the "Republicans" are RINOs. The younger generation, propagandized since grade school by leftist teachers, and really ruined in colleges, are now in favor of socialism/communism. I don't think THAT is something that can be reversed at this stage.

Arizona did it for me, especially since no one else called Arizona for Dementia Jo for quite some time later. It was essentially a go-ahead for the toss-up states to pull off the fraud by shutting down for the night. And I will never forget the nervous looks of the Fox gang when they called Arizona. It was like a bunch of third graders who got into the candy. We watch some fluffy Fox morning stuff, The Five, and Greg Gutfeld. Gutfeld, done daily, would not wear well with us . though.

I have always thought of Martha as Muffy, the sooty sorority girl from posh Stamford. Her distaste for Trump is her way of showing she is “upper class”. He is NOCD (Not Our Class, Dear) to her. We will still record Harris Faulkner. A civilized woman who seems to be more fair in her approach. An Army brat, her beloved officer father just died. She is very patriotic. Married to a white husband, she is not racial in her approach. Recorded, we can cut out any guests Fox forces her to have. The rest are not on our watch list. We do watch some FBN. Maria, Dobbs, Elizabeth MacDonald. We are really sick of politics right now, so are more apt to skip the whole thing and watch old movies.

The Murdock family and especially the two sons who 'remade' Fox earned this and then some. I hope they are ruined, but considering how high the original audience took them, even a failing Fox will make money. Or not, if they are this stupid and this unpatriotic, they are probably capable of completely destroying Fox. Air America paved the way for these cretins. Zero concern for the noncommunist commentators on that network. Like us, you are on your own. You signed a contract with demonic morons.

My Fox viewing is WAY down. Gutfeld's Saturday evening show is still OK, plus Levin on Sunday. Daily shows I don't watch anymore. I listen to Hannity maybe an hour on the radio, plus Rush when he's on (or Steyn, the best of his guest hosts), and Dennis Prager sometimes. I adored "The Dennis Miller Option" podcast but that ended recently, a sad development. I listen to a lot more music. Internet radio has tons of interesting stations. I watch old movies ("North by Northwest" and "Cabaret" most recently). I get "The French Chef" on-demand on Pluto, and it's a lot of fun to watch. Facebook got too political for me (how many 30-day snoozes can you do) so I've been off it for a week. It's easier and easier as time goes on. I will be off until at least the end of the month. Maybe it will be better post-inauguration.

Pelosi’s Third Impeachment Folly 21 replies

Does the President have a right to free speech? Josh Blackman, a constitutional law professor writing on The Volokh Conspiracy, suggests he certainly does and that his speech on January 6 is a weak reed (as was Nancy Pelosi’s past impeachment folly) on which to gain a conviction in the Senate. (Remember an impeachment vote in the House is basically an indictment with no effect unless the Senate finds guilt after a trial.) Looking at the most analogous case, the impeachment of President Andrew Jackson, he finds plenty of reason for senators to vote against it.

If Fox News wants to restore its cable news ratings dominance, changes will have to be visible far lower in its organization than what is being reported. Though I was angry over its election night coverage and have been dismayed at the behavior of a number of its on-air personalities, I take no joy in the ratings crisis that seems to be engulfing Fox News. For all its faults, its reach, resources, and stable of outstanding talent like Tucker Carlson make it an essential voice

At his press conference on July 8, Joe Biden offered a rather bizarre interpretation of history, in which he likened Ted Cruz and his challenge to some electoral votes to Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels and the “Big Lie.” Biden illustrated his point by referring to the Allied bombing of Dresden in February 1945 in which, he said, “250 or 2,500 people” were killed. (snip) As an historian I am flummoxed at Biden’s illustration of Dresden as a Big Lie. (snip) Except the Nazi Big Lie was not about Dresden. Rather it was about the British and American bombing of Hamburg in 1943.

Despite the national focus on the political battles in D.C., the state election results provide very positive news for Republicans. Republicans increased their trifectas (governor and legislature control) to 23 states (24 with Alaska if they ever finish counting). There are twelve states with divided control, and seven of those have Republican majorities in the legislature. Despite the Democrat huge advantage in money and media support, Republicans increased their number in Congress and in statehouses. This gives the Republicans a deep bench of intelligent, honest, and capable elected representatives at the state and local level.

On his Monday Fox News program, Tucker Carlson spelled out what America’s corporate overlords are doing in America. Essentially, they are “de-personing” anyone who dares to question what happened in America on November 3-8 or who even supports Trump. In a world run on computers, they are unplugging everyone who does not toe their party line. (snip) The usually ebullient Tucker is manifestly upset, even angry at what’s happening in America. Americans are expected to be aghast at the events in Washington, D.C. on January 6. A vicious mob of revolutionary Trump supporters, we are told, swarmed the nation’s capital and, in an act of insurrection, unlawfully entered the hallowed halls of Congress. Unlike the “fiery but mostly peaceful protests” that were reported over the summer, the media have been quick to claim that this was not a “mostly peaceful” protest (despite the protestors being, by any estimation, mostly peaceful), but the entire event is being categorized as a bona fide riot that had been fueled by Donald Trump’s irresponsible and untruthful rhetoric.

In 2020, Democrat riots caused billions of dollars in property damage, destroyed historic sites, and assaulted and murdered dozens of people. Meanwhile, on January 6, President Trump asked patriots to walk peacefully to the Capitol to cheer politicians who, copying Democrat, objected to Electoral College votes. Some hotheads (encouraged by Antifa plants?) entered the Capitol, as Democrat protesters have done many times before. This time, though, Democrats demand that Trump leave office immediately under the 25th Amendment or be impeached and that all Trump-supporting politicians across America be expelled from office.

There was no revolution. There was no pro-Trump coup attempt. Everyone knows it. A couple of crackpots who pranked at the Capitol are now being called a “revolution.” As if that crazy, painted-face shaman with the buffalo-horn hat was leading -- what are they calling it? Ah yes, an insurrection. There was a call by millions of Americans for election integrity. It was met with “shoot to kill” behavior and then a great purge. It wasn’t a revolution; it was more like an ambush. No one is asking who gave the shoot-to-kill order or who gave the order to invite protesters into the Capitol building.

The Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. A police force dedicated to protecting Capitol Hill has more personnel in its service than the police forces of most of the country. Congress' private cops are the 19th largest police force in the country. It’s a larger force than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, or Milwaukee with a massive $460 million budget. It’s the only legislative federal force in the country that is answerable exclusively to Congress. While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. After the Capitol Hill riot, expect it to go higher. Much higher.

During former President Bill Clinton’s testimony before a grand jury about his Oval Office shenanigans with 22-year-old White House intern Monica Lewinsky, the Philanderer in Chief shrewdly said, in response to a question, “It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” In Apple CEO Tim Cook’s case, it depends on what his meaning of “that” is. More precisely, in the case of Apple’s de-platforming of conservative-leaning social media site Parler, it matters a hell of a lot what Cook’s meaning of “that” is, when he says of Parler: “We don’t consider that free speech.”

A group of students at Harvard University are demanding that the degrees earned by Trump allies be revoked as punishment for their political opinions.“Harvard must revoke the degrees of alumni whose incendiary language and subversion of democratic processes—rooted in a history of white supremacist voter suppression—incited the violent insurrection on January 6,” the petition said, which was obtained by Fox Business. “This includes all who have used their platforms to deny the validity of the presidential election. They do not and should not represent a university committed to ‘strengthening democracy’

Various left-wing writers (some of them nominally Republican) have been salivating over the prospects of a GOP civil war. Nothing would make them happier than to see Republicans tearing each other apart in a fight over President Trump and the future of the GOP. However, this will not happen. It is a sign of how self-delusional the anti-Trump forces are that they could look at the House of Representatives vote on impeaching President Trump (for the second time) and convince themselves this is the harbinger of a Republican civil war. The House voted 232-197 Wednesday to impeach the president. Every

Pallets of empty cardboard boxes were delivered Wednesday to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Moving day is less than a week away and preparations are underway for Trump’s departure and the Bidens arrival. Before the Bidens arrive, deep cleaning is scheduled to take place in the White House and Jill Biden has plans for a million-dollar bathroom renovation in the East Wing. We are still in a pandemic so it’s reasonable that intense cleaning will happen as one group leaves and another moves into the White House. This year the cleaning that takes place during the transition between two administrations is more intense (and costly) than normally done.

Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) warned Friday that one third of Republican voters could leave the party if GOP senators vote in impeachment proceedings to convict President Trump. Paul made the comments in an interview on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle. The senator’s remarks come amid an increasing divide between congressional Republicans who oppose impeaching the president, and a smaller number who support the measure following the riots at the Capitol on January 6. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) is reportedly hopeful that Republicans can use impeachment to purge Trump from the GOP...

President-elect Joe Biden has unveiled a $1.9 trillion relief package that includes a third stimulus check of $1,400, in addition to the $600 direct payment issued last month. But Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts thinks struggling Americans need more cash to weather the ongoing pandemic. Markey called for Congress to pass his proposal of $2,000 monthly stimulus checks in a statement on Friday. "The $1,400 in direct cash assistance is a down payment that will help families make rent, put food on the table, and pay the utility bills after Senate Republicans blocked that additional funding back in December," the

Retired Army General Stanley McChrystal has compared the MAGA riot to the evolution of Al-Qaeda saying in both instances people followed a 'powerful leader' who 'justified their violence', as he warned America is headed for a homegrown insurgency. McChrystal, the former commander of American troops in Afghanistan, said there are terrifying parallels between the birth of the terrorist group responsible for the September 11 terrorist attacks and the violent siege on the US Capitol last week that left five dead and sent shockwaves around the world. Donald Trump has given his supporters 'legitimacy to become even more radical', he told Yahoo News,
