Insurrectionists that stormed Capitol Hill and uploaded videos to the right-wing social media app Parler gave away their GPS coordinates to the app.
That data has now been scraped and archived by researchers, who could use the data to help identify criminals. Many rioters including the Proud Boys—a Southern Poverty Law Center designated hate group—shared videos on the app, but hacker “@donk_enby” on Twitter has shown that the metadata (information about the content uploaded, such as number of megapixels in the videos or rotation) includes GPS positioning.(Snip) The hacker was previously working with academic researchers, helping them ingest Parler data, they told The Independent.

How dare those 74 million voters get angry about being disenfranchised in the presidential election by the Democrat Party.

The Independent is NEVER a reliable source, always a leftist propaganda outlet.

Over the last week, leftist/socialist totalitarians in the DC cabal declared open war on anyone with a different view of things.
Difficult days lie ahead.

Apparently, leftists exploited the fact that Parler's authentication vendor (Okta) had withdrawn their services (in concert with AWS and other tech companies) and were able to create admin accounts on Parler, extract the data, and get it over to another hosting site where they are making it available to law enforcement and any leftists who in their current jihad want it to target conservatives and "fellow travelers".
We need to stop thinking that the left is going to play by some semblance of rules or that laws mean something to them. They plan to make sure that you can't speak, assemble, work, bank, and ultimately exist. There will be no future elections - just simulations to give the appearance of normalcy. Your voice will be silenced. And if you attempt to rise up, they'll conveniently overlook laws like the Posse Comitatus Act to send federal troops to put down any rebellions by the "deplorable" who refused to hand in their weapons as demanded by the new Biden-Harris administration.
They have learned well from their CCP masters...

The Proud Boys are no more a hate group. This language is inflammatory and should be censored.

They just keep pushing the limits.
It's going to get ugly.
Not that it isn't already ugly, but the fools are going to push us into real trouble.

Oh well. The good news is that on all sides, left, right up, and down this is an Insurrection of the THUMBS.
Twit away, live it up, go to lunch, look scary, don't come around my house.

Notice how they falsely call Parler a "right-wing" app? Do they ever call Twitter a "left-wing" app. Never do they label leftists as leftists. But they are always quick to denounce others as right-wing extremists. We must not abandon Trump and we must fight the tyranny of big tech.

The Brown Shirts are hard at work and on the job to identify the Enemies of the State. What they don't remember is that they were the first to be purged when Hitler consolidated his power.

#8, yes, the info on their phone remains on their phone.
What is meant is that info in the digital photos and videos give away personal information (placed there automatically by the phone) about the person who owns or used the cellphone, allowing other (tech-savvy) people to identify the owner of the phone. That means law enforcement and/or bad actors can find out who they are, where they live, where they work, where they were when they created the photo or video, etc, etc.
