Last week’s Senate runoff elections in Georgia gave the Democrats full control of the federal governing apparatus. America is now a one-party state, and the Californication of the country will soon begin. But there’s one man who can slow it down if not stop it, at least for a while: Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin.
The West Virginian could erase the Democrats’ de facto Senate majority (the Democratic vice president is the tie-breaker in the 50-50 chamber) simply by changing parties. This is no radical suggestion. Manchin is the most conservative Democrat in the Senate, if not all of Washington, and

Naive idiots. Have you not heard Joe Manchin already said he'd be okay with DC & Puerto Rico becoming states?
He is only in it for (as Don Surber said)...in it for JOE. Turtle McConnell ain't gonna pay as much as billionaire Dhims will to get Joe's vote.

And Lisa Murkowski will switch to being the Dem that she is. So really Joe Manchin won't do anything. Hardly an earth-shaking plan.

Manchin has already been there too long. Just like all the rest of them after being there for years they become all about the money and p-ss on the people. This is why we need term limits. NEW blood of both stripes, that way you have people in there who have the fire in their belly for what they believe to be the right path for America, as opposed to how to put some of those TRILLIONS of tax payer dollars, into their accounts.

Camel-lah won’t have to break very many ties because we have the usual suspects on the Repub side, Collins, Murkowski, Pierre Delecto, and probably several more, who will gladly lick the boots of their Demo overlords. Past is prelude. We are screwed. I haven’t seen or heard one Demo pol who exhibits a shred of integrity or allegiance to the Constitution they swore an oath to protect and defend...and very few Repubs as well.

He won't switch...if he's not bought and paid for, trust me they have blackmail to keep him in line. He's going nowhere.

If Lisa Murkowski switches parties she will get crushed in 22. Could get primaries by Dems for not supporting the first impeachment or any number of other reasons and would lose the general election to a red ham sandwich.
I strongly encourage her to end her political career.
Btw, Twitter has lost about $6 billion in market cap (43b to 37b) since banning Trump on Friday. I hope all the Twitter employees gleefully pushing that are enjoying the consequences of the adults speaking with their wallets.

This guy is only conservative a few months before election and the voters in WV believe him. His talking about opposing the stimulus is phony since he knows enough rhinos will vote with the dems for it. Hope WV gets wise to him a gets a repub in his place.

Are you kidding?????? Manchin keeps getting re-elected and admired because he is "independent". Someone should actually LOOK at his voting record. 99% of the time he does as he is told.

Joe was a decent Governor in West Virginia, but when he moved to DC he let Chuck Schumer induct him as a member of the swamp. In 2016, Donald Trump received 68.5% of the West Virginia vote, and in 2020 he received 68.6% of the West Virginia vote. In both elections, all 55 counties of the state were red. After Joe was re-elected the last time, he voted to impeach President Trump. I think he is good enough at math to know that with all of the Trump support in the Mountain State this will be his last term in the US Senate. As such, he will do all he can to feather his own nest at every opportunity. Truly a very unreliable and dangerous politician.

In 2016, Pres. Trump carried W. Virginia by FORTY points. He would have changed then. He will vote for ANYTHING that does not harm the W. Virginia
economy. New states, packing the S. Court etc., no problem. According to the American Conservative Union, Manchin's LIFETIME rating is 27%. In my book, that ain't no conservative. 40 to 60% is considered Moderate. Don't hold your breath...

Check the facts, Manchin is a born liar. He talks a good game but has voted with Nancy at least 90% of the time. He fooled the people of WVA time after time. He will never change parties.

Keep Joe Manchin...but I will trade you one Lisa Murkowski for one Tulsi Gabbard even though she is cute but crazy unlike Lisa who is crazy and not cute.

I agree with the first poster. Manchin is a coward. The only vote of his we might get, as he's indicated, is on court packing. And it won't be needed, because Biden won't need to push the issue -- Roberts and likely Kavanagh are in the bag on abortion, the only issue that truly motivates liberals as far as the court is concerned.
