Washington—Black service members in the Air Force are far more likely to be investigated, arrested, face disciplinary actions and be discharged for misconduct, according to a new report that looked at racial disparities across the service. The report by the Air Force inspector general, released Monday, said Black members of the Air Force and Space Force are less likely to be promoted to higher enlisted and officer ranks, and one-third of them believe they don't get the same opportunities as their white peers. And it concluded that "racial disparity exists" for Black service members, but that the data did not explain why it happens.

Any thought that more blacks might be breaking the rules, or is having that thought racist?

Of course there will be no discussion of the difference in behavior among the races.

Not discounting some racism but these disparities are ALL due to racism?

And blacks in the general public are more likely to kill blacks but nobody seems to give a hoot in Hades about that racial disparities. Seems we should investigate why blacks are so racist towards blacks to the point of killing them.

Is there a comparative study between all the services - Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and Air/Space Force?
My (blond) son wouldn't consider joining the Air Force because he said everyone in the Air Force was blond and he didn't want to be stereotyped. I thought that was a weird comment until I was at a function at an Air Force Officers' Club. Virtually everyone in the room was blond. There was one Black couple; most of the darker-haired and darker-skinned people were in our Army contingent.
This was years ago, but the Air Force has always been a little backward on the social front.

Only ever sent one of my Air Force troops to Leavenworth. She was African American. She also stole thousands from the unit booster fund. Sat on two courts martials. African American aircraft mechanic told a security cop to eff off when he asked for a security badge on the flight line. It went downhill from there. And an African American admin type who was cashing a check for his full paycheck every payday, and lots more checks cashed in between paydays. Watching Monday Night Football last night, I never saw a White Guy involved in the dustups. As Steyn says, the purpose of political correctness is to train you to not see the obvious.

Sub-Saharan blacks survived in their environment using a very different skill set than those in Eurasia.
Strength and agility were the traits that survived in one area where planning and resource management were required elsewhere.
Why is this so hard to accept? It does not diminish the moral standing of anyone.
Oh... and Irish redheads should use sunscreen.

That's the result of Affirmative Action hires. Perhaps this explains why black neighborhoods harbor the most violence and crime? Perhaps this explains why African nations are the most despotic and brutal in the world?
It has nothing to do with skin pigmentation, and has everything to do with the prevailing culture in those societies.

Lol, its the same reason why prisons are full of'em. They commit over 70% of the violent crimes and yet are only 14% of the population. If you count all crimes it probably goes over 80%. Diversity is destroying this country.

The story is the same in all of the military branches and in the civilian security forces that employ all races to support the military. There is a certain group of lazy, careless, screwups that ignore the rules, sleep on duty, harass others not in their group and can't pass the promotion exams but are promoted anyway to satisfy quotas. Anybody care to venture a guess what makes up that group?

Is that possibly because most blacks in the service, just as in civilian life, lack any proper home training?
And consequently, they commit infractions at a higher rate than whites?

If (as is the fact) blacks are more prone to act criminally, then this makes sense to investigate them more.

Times change and not for the better. I was a squadron commander in the 80s and while there were blacks in the squadron statistically they were responsible for fewer disciplinary problems than whites. I was proud to serve with them and discharged only one in three years and that was for refusal to work with white squadron members because he "hated" whites. His problem was he had never associated with a white person until he joined the Air Force (he was from Detroit) and was so indoctrinated in racism there was no hope for his adjustment. His problem seems like a cancer that has invaded some black youth and their attitudes do them no good - only harm. It seems to me the recruiting service has failed to look behind the signature on the enlistment paper. Lastly, the military is a reflection of society at large and coddling one group while denigrating another cannot be allowed to be brought into the service. Anyone who thought the days of studying and learning were behind them when they left high school either get with both or they will fail. Military service is a never ending course of study and the sooner members learn that the easier life becomes. Don't learn it and you will find life ain't fair no matter your color.

OP mentions the Tuskeegee airmen.
I'll check national obits every so often to see if I missed a celeb passing.
For many years, a Tuskeegee airman shows up every couple weeks or more.
It would appear there were more Tuskeegee airmen than people who went to Woodstock.

Could it be that "more often" blacks are committing the offenses?

Gee, perhaps it is because they do a hugely disproportionate number of the crimes.
Hard fact, blacks commit crimes at a dramatically higher rate than whites.
For example, blacks are seven times more likely to commit murder than a white person.
Hard facts.
But noticing these facts is said "is racist".
Facts are facts. Don't do the crime if you don't want to do the time.

promotion in the USAF is heavily weighted in favor of individuals who take college courses. When I supervised a Physical Examination section at a base hospital, I required all of the people who reported to me to take a college course. And I allowed them to study, during quiet times of the work day.
The IG had mounds of raw data. The report is shamefully inadequate, especially on promotions.

If you don't do bad things, you don't get investigated and you don't get in trouble. Perhaps they should mention that in their study as well. Idiots.

I have witnessed this first hand...yet the Government still allows BAD supervisors to get away with this.
I am retiring soon after 34 years with the Air Force. I have seen this many times, sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant but except in rare cases, always covered up and ignored. I'm glad I'm leaving as the workplace is more toxic than it's ever been and this is the tip of an ugly iceberg. Until those that actually DO these bad things are forced out 'with NO RETIREMENT', nothing will change. Color me GONE!

There's no end to the whining and no one is allowed to explain why it happens, so bring back the Tuskegee Airmen and give them their own bLACK-run organization where they can behave as they see fit and achieve as they are able. Likewise with schools, medical facilities, you name it.
