CNN said it is involving "law enforcement" after James O'Keefe, the founder of the right-wing group Project Veritas, crashed a morning editorial call with CNN President Jeff Zucker and said Project Veritas would be releasing tapes from previously recorded phone calls.
"Legal experts say this may be a felony. We've referred it to law enforcement," the CNN PR account tweeted on Tuesday in response to a video of the call O'Keefe posted on Twitter.

What happened to 'defund the police'; and, 'ACAB'?? Is this situational?

O'Keefe has an "anonymous source". End of story.
Probably works to O'Keefe's advantage that CNN makes such a stink about this. This will just strengthen the buzz.

I would have preferred they not announce their presence on the calls. That would leave CNN guessing who on their team spilled the beans.

I watched this yesterday on a video. If I didn't know O'Keefe was deadly serious about his work, I'd have thought he was breaking in to comedy show business. His complete deadpan look, but a slight grin was a give-away to his talent. Go, James! He rattled Zucker, by the sound of it. Like a good liberal, he tried to pretend he knew all along. Yeah, right! /s

Transparency. The big Turnaround has begun. Maybe they'll learn how to do their jobs properly from this. Nah, they're dead to real reporting.

Indeed a felony in certain states like Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Maryland ("electronic intercept" laws") but NOT in California.

But it was okay for CNN to have surreptitiously taped Melania's conversations about Christmas decorations at the White House?

I don't believe James is too worried about Jeff Zucker. He has L. Lin Wood on retainer.

O'Keefe has been waiting for this to happen. now, everything that was said in the phone call is evidence and must be presented in court. zukee is probably eating his tongue right about now.

O’Keefe got legal advice before he released the videos. CNN will get nowhere, especially with the police.

Typical leftist. When something goes wrong, call the government (police) to fix it.
Myself, I don't have much need for the police. Problem solving skills, don't 'cha know.

Its easy to see which side of the aisle the Wrap is on. "Deceptively Edited"? O'Keefe targets often tried to edit themselves and others VERY deceptively. And were usually caught red-handed.
So long as O'Keefe, as a journalist and third party doesn't buy or sell stock, I think he's in the clear. However Law Enforcement COULD take action on CNN and Zuckerberg, if they admitted to illegality in those tapes.

CNN was all in with the “defund the police” scam. One question to CNN, if the police are defunded who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! Give us a break.
