Conventional wisdom holds that the progressive dream of Medicare for All died—or at least was deferred—when Joe Biden secured the Democratic presidential nomination. Many supposed the former vice president would be more moderate on health care than the president under whom he served. But recently Biden has started sounding a lot more like Barack Obama or even Senator Bernie Sanders. In early July, six unity task forces convened jointly by Biden and Sanders released their policy recommendations for a putative Biden Administration. If implemented, they’d represent the most left-wing governing program in U.S. history.
The healthcare task force stopped short of endorsing Medicare for All.

It's very important to realize that "health insurance" or a "health plan" is not the same as "healthcare". Health insurance is not a right, It's a commercial (or government) program that you have to be enrolled in and has to be paid for by somebody.
Healthcare is the actual delivery of care by doctors, nurses hospitals etc. All hospitals are expected to offer emergency care to anyone regardless of their ability to pay. Teaching hospitals in most states deliver pretty comprehensive care to those who cannot pay.
Millions of Americans do not have health insurance. But they certainly can, and do, get healthcare.

Even Medicare isn't free.
There is a payroll tax to fund it.
I pay over $100/month for part B.
I have to pay a co-pay when I go to the doctor or get services.

Getting emergency treatment at a hospital is a privilege, a kindness by a benevolent society. To say you have a "right" to the services of doctors and nurses is to say that they are slaves to your wants. Slavery was outlawed in this country a long time ago. Just try rounding up a bunch of black doctors and telling them you have a right to make them treat your white behind, see what happens. I bet they will have a totally different view of your "rights."

Why would anyone want to be on Medicare if they have private group insurance? Medicare has big deductibles (for hospital) and premiums and copays for doctor services. Many doctors won't even take Medicare because the reimbursements are so low.

Yes it is true that the uninsured do have some access to emergency care but it must be understood that it becomes paid for by hospitals and doctors usually without any compensation. The problem here in the US is that seeking help when a problem has risen to the level needing emergency help is much more expensive to 'society' than preventive care. More importantly providing ANY level of care to the millions who illegally came to the US (like Omar) is a monetary sinkhole almost without limit. As other's wiser than I have pointed out, open borders with free welfare and health insurance is a recipe for disaster. Maybe establishing a basic level of universal healthcare might could work but in our 'democracy' where the loudest voice gets more freebies I doubt it.

Health insurance has always been somewhat of a socialist program. The productive working people pay a high price and the parasites pay nothing. Medicare for all would only magnify that principle. Including coverage for illegals would push the productive working people up over the fifty percent tax bracket because the parasites tend to shove everything into their bodies but the kitchen sink and demand that doctors fix it for them.

Gun ownership IS an actual enumerated right.
I want the government to pay for my guns.

I would like to see health insurance become a CONTRACTUAL right: that is, everyone who pays a national sales tax receives the right to a voucher with which he or she can purchase a "Bronze" plan.
Such a Bronze plan would be a minimal level health insurance plan from any legitimate insurance provider in the US, tailored to the buyer's specific needs. We can start small: one doctor's visit per year, one blood test, one set of x-rays. Pay for the plan entirely with a national sales tax.
. Anyone desiring a higher-level plan -- Silver, Gold, or Platinum -- could do one of several things: pay for the extra coverage himself, get his employer to pay, have Medicare pay if he is 65 or over, have the Veterans Administration pay if he is a veteran, have his home state pay, have some charity or foundation pay.
Under such a plan, everyone gets some minimal level of health insurance. It does not add to the deficit or the national debt. It requires few regulations and little bureaucracy. The citizen, not the government, is in control of what he or she buys. The plan helps US employers because some of the burden of paying for health care will be lifted from American corporations and companies, making it easier for them to employ workers; thus, it is pro-jobs and pro-growth.

The state already provides a healthcare floor. We don't have dead bodies piling up in the streets. What the left wants is healthcare provided for routine services, as well of more catastrophic issues. If that were to be done, then those people's real wages will have to be reduced, because the money has to come from somewhere, and the wealthy don't have enough.
