In her essay “Stop Being Shocked” published October 14 on Tablet, Bari Weiss listed troubling anti-Semitic trends taking place in the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party. She brings up multiple true-life examples reinforcing her assertion. She then goes on to say that she, like the majority of American Jews, is “disgusted by Trump and Trumpism”; a movement which in her words “normalized bigotry and cruelty in ways that have crippled American society.”

American Jews apparently have no associations with Israeli Jews who have benefited so much from having Trump as President. 3 treaties in the Middle east which have added to the safety of Israel.
Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. A move promised by other Presidents who had no courage to do so.
What does it take to make an American Jew happy?
Evidently the corruption they get from Democrat politicians they help elect each year.

Bigotry is believing that anyone who is different from yourself is therefore inferior. All dozen remaining white supremist are bigots - (white meth-head losers who think that Justice Thomas is inferior to them is just too asinine to deserve compilation).
Liberal elitists belief that Conservatives are deplorable and stupid is the only normalized bigotry in America. Accusing "Trumpism" of normalizing bigotry is completely unsupported - much like Mr. Meth-head conclusion.

I contend that it is the self-hating Jews who are blaming Trump for renewed anti-Semitism. Most anti-Trump people are too busy hating to find out why the President takes the side of Israel in particular and Jews in general. They are more bigoted that Boss Hogg.

What is it with American Jews and Marxist Socialism? Their alliance to this dates back to the 1920's or earlier. If you get what you ask for, the Pogroms will start, and, as always, Jews will be a target for wealth confiscation, and eventually, the camps.

That is one of the most disconnected, nonsensical posts seen in quite a while here, #1.
Excellent commentary, and from a soviet immigrant. And the criticism of Jonah and other soft intellectuals is dead on target.

I keep wondering (hoping, too) if Jonah will some day come to his senses, or whether he is just so invested in his DC Swamp Critter friends that he can't ever recover and see that Trump is the best conservative President that we have had in .....maybe forever.

I would like to know what bigotry and cruelty she speaks of? Give me a few examples, not just your misguided feelings. Something concrete, please. What? You can't think of any particular one off hand?
As far as being anti-Semitic, it's not just one wing of the democrat party. It's the whole freaking party!

It isn't all Jews who hate Trump and conservatism. I attended CPAC this year, and the number of young men wearing yarmulkes was enlightening. It probably explains why DeBlasio and Cuomo have declared war on some Jewish communities. I suspect it is the Jewish equivalent of Cafeteria Catholics who hate Trump and the devout communities are the ones who support him.

Because intellectuals tend to occupations that are abstract and "thinking" focused they dismiss the practical skills of actually "doing" things. People like President Trump are "doers" who have little patience or training in the niceties of philosophical rhetoric and socially acceptable manners. Its much like a difference in Hindu castes between the Brahmin (intellectuals), Kshatriyas (warrior/ruler), and the Vaishyas or merchant/business caste.
The Kshatriyas caste is always insecure because of their dependency on the practical abilities of the Vaishyas and their inevitable generation of personal wealth and power. They use the law, government, and public decrees (state media) to keep their control over the lower castes. They are trained by their elite schools and universities that this makes society happy and peaceful as intended by the gods.
Every now and then someone from the Vaishyas caste dares to challenge their rule because it is destroying society through greed and corruption the Kshatriyas band together with the Brahmins and squelch the rebellion. This is why they hate Trump's national populism and his "deplorable" followers (Shudras). They truly believe only they are fit to rule and Trump is not just wrong but a threat to the natural order of the Universe.

The new favored children of the democrats are currently radical blacks. Enjoy it while it lasts because as soon as they see how many blacks vote for Donald Trump next week, they will find a new best friend.

"Republicans like Romney and Paul Ryan folded like straws in the face of brazenly deceptive attacks..."
The grand deception in American politics is that there are two dominant political parties competing on philosophical grounds that are centered on true national interests. There is one UNIPARTY that includes both such parties as subsidiaries, and maintains the fiction that, at the national level, these national interests are paramount. This UNIPARTY is ever moving leftward. The Dems pushing; the GOP pulling ever so slightly less hard. To quote the Senate Majority Leader, "It's the best we can do."

Here again an accusation that is hard to fathom. "she, like the majority of American Jews, is “disgusted by Trump and Trumpism”; a movement which in her words “normalized bigotry and cruelty in ways that have crippled American society.” He has supported Israel, he moved the US embassy to Jerusalem fulfilling a promise made decades ago an unfulfilled till Trump. I can remember a lot of support for Israel from his mouth and nothing that can be called "anti-Semitism" ever. Because he isn't particularly liberal she brands him a bigot and cruel. How and where has he been so?

This 'soft' Jewess is the equivalent of what we, in my church, refer to as
'C' & 'E' (Christmas & Easter) Catholics or Pointsetta & Lily Catholics. They're only slightly better than the CINO's like Pelosi, Biden and the late Ted Kennedy!

Excellent article. The upper echelon of the Democrat party comprises soft intellectuals and grifters. What core principles they had are currently being smashed to a pulp by the rising Marxist faction. Fasten your seat belts folks, Khrushchev's words are coming true.
