California's Gavin Newsom goes

For someone whose previous career was in San Francisco's trendy restaurant industry, California's Gov. Gavin Newsom has some bizarre ideas about why people gather; what a comfortable dining experience is; and how people, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says, will do what they do. Nope, he's got some weird stuff up, motivated, he says, by a supposed new wave of COVID: (Snip for tweet) Kelly ran out of space before she could mention another onerous restriction, which is that only three households may gather. Anyone with a lick of common sense knows that neither he nor his constituents are going to observe these ridiculous diktats on the country's biggest

I do not understand how Californians live being micro-managed by the never-ending (and constantly growing) state, county and local rules and regulations. Our sister wanted to change the length of her swimming. She was told she needed to bring her entire residence "up to code." For openers she was told she had make a change to her wrought iron swinging gate. That expense was estimated to be $25,000. She said, "Screw it."

No reporter ever asks for--and therefore Newsom never has to produce--documentary scientific evidence in support of each of his absurd, roller-coaster edicts. This has been the case with every governor and so-called expert starting with Dr. Fauci when they repeat the mantra that they are "just following the science." What science, whose science, which science? Show us the science!

If only he had this much fervor to clean up the cities, work on the homeless crisis, and then trust the people to do the right thing. He a petty tyrant. He's afraid to lose anyone to the pandemic. Be cautious and smart, of course, but "We're all gonna die of somethin' some day" (Joycelyn Elders, Clinton's Surgeon General, the one who said she had gone to an "Errric Clapner concert" lol lol she was really something else...). President Trump was right when he said we can't live in fear.

Joe Biden hasn't even been ratified as president and former first lady Michelle Obama had this to say about all that vaunted national unity he called for: (Snip for tweet) She must have been boiling with hate for years, because last night she simply couldn't contain it. According to People, citing a string of tweets: “I’m beyond thrilled that my friend @JoeBiden and our first Black and Indian-American woman Vice President, @KamalaHarris, are headed to restore some dignity, competence, and heart at the White House. Our country sorely needs it,” Mrs. Obama wrote at the start of a lengthy statement shared on social media.

So how does this unfolding U.S. election disaster look to Venezuelans, Venezuelan-Americans, and neighbors in the region? Just sum it up this way: Venezuelans are coming out in force to state they've seen this movie before. The fraud being played out now sounds as if Democrats used Venezuela as their how-to guide. Here is a curation of choice tweets, starting with one from an obvious Venezuelan: (Snip for tweet). Here's another Venezuelan from the western city of Valencia, who's seen this travesty, too:

We are told that we can't gather together even if we haven't tested positive for Thanksgiving or Christmas. That's the word from the CDC and other bureaucracies and state governments, the former of which had also carved out an exception for protestors and rioters. We can't go to church if we have no symptoms and haven't tested positive, nor can we go to indoor dining or many other places For months we have been told that even if we are asymptomatic, we can be spreading the disease. We close down businesses, sporting events, schools, and other things if so much as one person has tested positive.

Is the U.S. on track to see its first election utterly stolen in front of its eyes? The way Venezuela's Hugo Chavez used to do it in the face of huge, huge enthusiastic crowds protesting against him back in Caracas? How else to explain strange doings like these? (Snip for tweet) Michigan, too, needs some extra time to count the ballots. And so did North Carolina. And so did all of the states where Trump was running ahead -- Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan... The counting suddenly shut down. Arizona went down a suspicious 90 minutes before the announcement that the state had flipped to Biden.

After a humorous car stunt on a Texas highway outside Austin, where Trump-flag flying cars surrounded a big Biden/Harris campaign bus like a swarm of butterflies, the Biden team has cancelled now three events in Texas and called in the FBI. According to the Texas Tribune: The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Friday incident in which a group of Trump supporters, driving trucks and waving Trump flags, surrounded and followed a Biden campaign bus as it drove up I-35 in Hays County, a law enforcement official confirmed to The Texas Tribune Saturday.

Texas is a state that loves humor and can laugh at itself. Just look at the names of some of its cities -- you can feel it in names like Corsicana, Indianola, Texarkana...nobody else's state has names like those. And of course, there's the phrase "Texas-sized" which bigger Alaska can only envy. Nobody says 'Alaska-sized.' But everyone knows 'Texas-sized.' It's humor in the hyperbole. So in comes the humor-challenged Joe Biden campaign from its basement to make a stop in Austin, Texas, with some of its team taking a big bus on one of the state's huge flat highways.

Democrats campaigned this year for mail-in and early voting as if it were the most important issue in politics. Now we think we know why: They wanted voters to make their selections before Bidengate arrived. As of Tuesday, more than 41 million ballots have already been cast, two full weeks before Election Day, and about 30% of the total cast in the 2016 presidential election. How many of those votes were decided before the Hunter Biden email scandal emerged? We’d guess quite a few.
