What is the measure of a man’s courage? Is it measured by jumping on an enemy grenade to save his friends? Is it boldly braving enemy fire to pull one of his comrades from the brutal bloodbath of an enemy ambush? Both of those are great examples, but they miss a critical element…Fear. Fear can take many forms, both rational and irrational. In some cases fear can be fairly brief(snip)
Then, there is fear that extends over a long period of time(snip)Regardless of duration, there can be no courage without fear. The two go hand in hand.

I love you, Rush. There aren’t words to adequately express what you mean to me and to all of us to whom you have become family over the years because of the love we share for our country, her Founding Documents and her providential place in history. You have been a huge and crucially indispensable part of that providence for over thirty years. Your example of courage to stand firm in the face of abject hatred and efforts to destroy you, your knowledge, patriotic influence and encouragement is incalculable and invaluable for children (Rush Revere) and adults alike throughout our nation including the halls of government. May God bless you. You are in my prayers.

I have never prayed for the leaders of our country in my 60 year lifetime. But I now pray pray for Rush, President Trump and Mike Pence every morning. We need all of them!

Words will not effectively convey how sad I am about Rush’s diagnosis/prognosis. He has been a father figure, an ongoing presence in my life while raising my three children, and has talked me off the ledge many, many times since I started listening well over 20 years ago. It’s still a body blow to think that he is sick and may not be cured, at least for an good extension of time, to be with us and pull us through another day with his keen and one of a kind mind. He is truly a gift from God with talent on loan, and I am humbled to be reminded of that. All this is selfish on my part because I love him so and I always smile and laugh at his precious sense of humor combined with sarcasm and wit. I’m crying as I write this because he has meant so much to me and my days will never be the same without him, whenever that may be. Rush, you are fighting the good fight and I pray for you multiple times during the day and at night. What a wonderful addition to my life you are and I pray will continue to be for a long time.

Rush’s diagnosis was a body blow. It was hard to believe and even harder to hear. My hero and lunch partner for many of the 30+ years was gravely ill. He was my respite in a busy and sometimes trying day in a law office dealing with people mostly at a crisis time in their lives. I would have lunch in my car in a park close to my work and listen, get informed, and laugh out loud all alone in my car day after day. I would be recharged and go back and finish my day refreshed and hopeful. Only someone with a true gift can leave you feeling hopeful regardless of the darkness of the situation and there were many dark days. He was always there educating, informing, and making me laugh. He is needed now more than ever before and I find myself selfishly asking why now is he faced with this illness. It is God’s timing, certainly not ours. My prayer is that he is given his desire to see his friend place his hand on the Bible in January 2021. While Donald J. Trump may go down in history as guy who saved this country from the evil that was breathing down its neck, it could have never happened without Rush Limbaugh. Those years of daily instruction in the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies have paid off in spades. Millions of us have been grounded and educated and now we go forward to fight the hardest battle of our lives. Let there be no doubt about it, Rush Limbaugh has made an unparalleled contribution to this country. God bless him and give him peace, comfort, and joy as he continues to fight the good fight.

He is also my lunch partner for 30 years . When something big happens I am always curious what his take of the situation will be. The news of his cancer was devastating. I pray for him everyday.
Not surprised how he has confronted the situation. I hope he knows we stand with him.

"The Measure of a Man’s Courage in the Face of Adversity."
I know this is an article about Rush Limbaugh but I am extrapolating it to President Donald Trump. I believe this is the reason why he boldly goes on shows like 60 minutes. And I don't blame him for the impatience he has with the media. There is no light at the end of that tunnel and I would be getting out too. My response to both of these men: let your faith be bigger than your fear(s).
These two men don't hesitate to show their character. The real deal not the fake plastic side that I see with Joe Biden. All I have to say. . .

Rush has always been right at least 99% of the time. There is an old saying that when things get tough, the tough get going. You can see that today if you have been paying attention to the two Presidential candidates and their running mates. In that respect, everyday even after he caught COVID and recovered, Trump is out there holding his rallies that keep getting larger and larger, and explaining that as President of the USA he cannot competently perform the position of being President while hiding in his White House bedroom indefinitely, while in contrast Biden has for the most part been hiding in his residential basement depending on slickly made ads. on radio and TV misrepresenting Biden’s current age related fragile medical condition and his very unpopular socialist oriented political agenda that the socialist Democrats will force Biden to implement if he is elected.

I needed a box of Kleenex to get through this thread. Such beautiful, heartfelt posts. Words cannot express the sadness and sense of loss many of us feel at the thought of losing our hero, Rush. I will always be grateful for the feeling I had every time I heard the opening theme song to Rush’s show. You all know what I’m talking about. Rush Revere...yes you are.
