The destructive California wildfires are a reminder of Francis Bacon’s observation that “nature to be commanded must first be obeyed.” When political environmentalism tries to impose its will on nature, it will make you pay. (Snip) The costs required to keep the forests from ever burning are potentially huge. “Year after year, environmentalists litigated and lobbied to stop efforts to clear the forests through timber harvesting, underbrush removal, and controlled burns. … What happened among California’s tall stands of Redwood and Ponderosa Pine also happened in its extensive chaparral. Fire suppression along with too many environmentalist-inspired bureaucratic barriers to controlled

In my 2019 book, The Social Media Upheaval, I warned that the Big Tech companies — especially social media giants like Facebook and Twitter — had grown into powerful monopolists, who were using their power over the national conversation to not only sell ads, but also to promote a political agenda. That was pretty obvious last year, but it was even more obvious last week, when Facebook and Twitter tried to black out the New York Post’s blockbuster report about emails found on a laptop abandoned by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter.

Is the average American voter really thinking about all the ways to get back at voters who voted for President Trump? [Tweets] Well, it's what certain influential Democrats want, full blown show-trials and purges, same as the communists pioneered. Seems that equality and redistribution, don't really motivate them in the promises of socialism -- purges, show trials, Gulags and re-education camps are what get them going.
And it makes sense. Socialism has failed everywhere it's ever been tried, every time, every place, every place it's ever been practiced, people are poorer,

Years ago, a young man told me that his generation doesn't care about Rush Limbaugh or Rachel Maddow. Instead, they get their cultural and political information from podcasts and videos. And in the world of podcasts and videos, one of the biggest political stars is 36-year-old Ben Shapiro — who refused to vote for Trump in 2016. This time around, Shapiro has given Trump an enthusiastic thumbs-up, both because of Trump's proven history of conservative governance and because the Democrats have become insane.
In a statement that lasted less than nine minutes, Shapiro opened by succinctly stating the three reasons why he supports President Trump in 2020:

There is no shortage of polls or pundits predicting the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. But “outcomes” include more than simply election results. Who is gaming out how America — and the world — will respond? We are.
While national polls suggest an edge for former Vice President Joe Biden, the winner isn’t determined by national polls. It is determined by who wins the Electoral College. Victory is won in the states.
Scaring Voters into Mail-In Increases Election Uncertainty
Due to the political stoking of fears of contracting COVID-19, a massive push has been made, mostly by the left, to encourage voting by mail. This significantly alters the calculus on Election Day

France plans to expel over 200 radical foreigners after the killing of a French school teacher in what French president Emmanuel Macron called an "Islamist terrorist attack," Fox News reported Sunday.
The 231 alleged radicals were identified by the File of Alerts for the Prevention of Terrorist Attacks, which French media say is a primary tracker of terrorism within the country.
Of the individuals identified, 180 are currently detained, and French authorities plan to soon arrest the other 51. Paris already had plans to expel all the radicals listed, but the attack on the French citizen and school teacher accelerated those plans, Macron’s government confirmed.

Yes, that title doesn’t make much sense, but neither does a group that promotes banning firearms starting a national organization called Gun Owners for Safety. Nonetheless, The Hill recently reported that the anti-gun group Giffords is doing just that. This effort is being sold as an expansion of the group’s campaign to fool gun owners at the state level into supporting an agenda that is clearly against their own interests.
Giffords has been working on establishing what it calls Gun Owners for Safety State Chapters since at least January 2019, and claims to have three under its wing. The states it mentions, Colorado, Minnesota, and Texas, all have groups

In May of this year, political light-years ago, a syndicated piece by David Limbaugh was published on this website, “Trump Supporters: Fear Not Those Discouraging Polls.”
Light years, yes, and much has changed since May. But the fact remains that the polls could not be reliably trusted then, and cannot be trusted now. Many of them are intentionally designed to dishearten and dispirit voters who support the president. Their designers and the people who work for them are in the business of seeding the ground with hopelessness.
The idea that Joe Biden’s catatonic campaign could be eclipsing the invigorated Trump sweep across America seems patently counterintuitive. While Biden struggles

A top Republican senator acknowledged the possibility that the FBI investigated whether there was child pornography on a laptop that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden.
Journalist Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, about a Business Insider report that described faint handwriting on a subpoena served last year to a Delaware business that was given a computer to repair but never retrieved. The device purportedly contained data about foreign business dealings and other matters related to the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.
The subpoena appeared to show the FBI agent who

“The relationship between men and women,” writes Megan Fox in her recent book Believe Evidence: The Death of Due Process from Salome to #MeToo, “is a mysterious and beautiful thing. When each is acting within their boundaries, there is no end to the joy that comes from male and female love, familial or romantic.” The weakening of men and the empowerment of women, as “women claw their way to ever increasing power and fix men (especially young, white men), in their crosshairs,” destroy the sexual, romantic and institutional bond between the sexes.

Today is the anniversary of the birth of singer/songwriter Laura Nyro. I want to take the occasion to revisit a few highlights of her songbook and perhaps acquaint some readers with the joys of her work in another extended lockdown edition of this series.
In my high school class those of us who followed pop music obsessively knew we had discovered someone special in Laura Nyro. We prided ourselves in being able to recognize her hand in the covers of her songs on AM radio. We thought that, along with Jimmy Webb, she was a songwriter with something special to say. We were blown away by Eli and The Thirteenth Confession

First, CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield warned that sharing Thanksgiving dinner indoors with a group of loved ones was very, very dangerous. Now, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Mendacious Midget™, is joining the chorus. In an interview with Norah O’Donnell on CBS News, the media darling said the following about the holiday:
"That is unfortunately a risk, when you have people coming from out of town, gathering together in an indoor setting. It is unfortunate, because that’s such a sacred part of American tradition — the family gathering around Thanksgiving. But that is a risk. Given the fluid and dynamic nature of what’s going on right now in the spread and
