Americans are fed up with millionaire actors and athletes preaching to us about how bad our country is, and evidence for that disgust is everywhere we look.
We see bumper stickers slamming Hollywood, Facebook posts ripping the NFL and NBA, and most significantly we’re seeing epic declines in viewership across the board. (snip) with their relentless condescension, virtue signaling, and total disregard for their fans, Hollywood and professional team sports are hammering the nails in their own coffins.
We’re not asking you to be conservative, just keep politics out of it. If we want politics, we’ll tune to Fox News or MSNBC

My hope is that it gets into the pocketbooks of the "artists" in Hollywood and the Millionaire ball players.

They really think we care about what they think. NOT! We are not the stupid public that the Democrats say we are. Why should we listen to people in Hollywood who take their clothes off in public to get attention and who pretend to be someone else while wearing make up and wigs that other people put on them? In fact, their opinion is moot. Those who speak out are millionaires who are living the American dream and knocking it. They sound more like Communists than Americans. So, just keep your mouths shut! You have caused enough damage to our society and culture for a lifetime.

The article dances around the reasons without naming names. Say its name: Black Lives Matter, false accusation of racism, Social Justice, transsexualism, homosexuality, hatred of Donald Trump, hatred of the police, mixed race couples simply for shock value, diversity everywhere whether it makes sense or not, most times not. Thirteen percent of the population being included in over fifty percent of everything. Sexual exploitation of children. Vulgar language. Insults to all religion except islam. Coincidentally, most of the names and causes apply to both hollywood and pro sports with hollywood getting the nod for being the worst, most blatant offender.

I will admit I've watched baseball, and a few hockey games. Those two sports haven't been too in your face about the BLM BS. The NFL and NBA on the hand are just obnoxious about it. Preaching about how tough it is being black in this country while those preaching are making millions, has falls on deaf ears for most people who are too busy trying to make ends meet. Life is tough. Get over it. It's even tougher when your attitude starts with everybody is against me, and you don't live by the rules of a civilized society, and social norms. Having that attitude and mouthing off to police never ends well for those who seem to think laws don't apply to me.

While preaching Black Lives Matter and honoring various thugs, the viewing public has discovered that Sports Don't Matter. The reckoning is upon the industry...those networks and sponsors will want a huge amount of their billion dollar fees refunded...and that's what keeps $ports and million dollar pay for bench players afloat.

I'm about done with Formula One racing, too. I have watched and read about (before there was any TV coverage) Formula One, international sports car racing and a little bit of NASCAR, especially when I lived within an hour's drive of the Daytona Speedway. I have been a fan since the mid-1960s, when it was very difficult to get any news coverage.
NASCAR has driven me away with the garbage from their half-black driver, but I wasn't a big fan anyway.
And now that obnoxious idiot Lewis Hamilton is pushing his racial garbage on his team's Formula One car, and wearing "Arrest the Cops who killed Breona Taylor" T-shirt on the podium. I turned that off when he did that garbage.
The normal color historically for most of a century for German F1 cars has been silver, and the Mercedes team cars that Hamilton (a half-black driver, white mother) drives have been silver for years, but repainted to black this season, with "End Racism" on them because Hamilton wanted it.
How this BRITISH half-black presumes to understand anything about American politics, is beyond me.
I am very close to totally stopping watching my primary sport that I have watched, never being much of a "stick and ball games" fan - baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey, golf, etc.

It is amazing the self importance celeb's and sports figures have place on themselves. I am still trying to figure out why Springsteen's thinks anyone cares where he lives. What an ego!

Hollywood and pro sports will only begin to acknowledge the problem -- if then -- when they begin to go broke.

It gives me joy to know that, somewhere, the bean counters for the NFL/NBA/MLB are freaking out x1000.

If this is a woke plan to destroy another US industry so other countries can truly compete, it will kill Hollywood all right, but Hollywood has been a bore for years. This may just open up the indies to a bigger audience.

Celebrities and prominent athletes are used to being catered to and lauded most of their lives. It gives them an exaggerated sense of their importance and they feel that the public needs to hear their intellectually shallow thoughts. Most of them are unaware that they inhabit the lower part of the IQ scale.

I have not watched any football this season and have paid so little attention that I do not even know how many games they have played this year. The problem with this is that I was out with friends last night and wanted to talk about something other than politics. It is not so much that we spend all evening talking about sports. It's just that that is usually what gets our conversation started before it goes off on other topics.
I think its hilarious that they try to claim politics has nothing to do with the ratings drop. The people I know fall into one of three groups: those who have never watched sports, those who have stopped watching because of politics, and those whose continue to watch sports as much as ever.

I've been away from Hollywood for decades, except to watch Ricky Gervais at an awards ceremony, but I was a solid NFL fan for over 50 years. Now, I don't even know or care if they have games going on, let alone who is playing. Don't miss it.
NBA? If you enjoy watching LeBron and nine other guys jump up in the air every 24 seconds, go for it.
