When a New York tabloid published the alleged contents of a computer hard drive purporting to document the Ukrainian and Chinese business activities of Hunter Biden, the newspaper cast the information as a "smoking gun."
Enter the FBI. Less than three weeks before one of the most contentious presidential campaigns in history, federal authorities are investigating whether the material supplied to the New York Post by Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, is part of a smoke bomb of disinformation pushed by Russia. If the NY Post is a “tabloid” then what the h—l does that make USA Today?
And it took four twits to write this tripe.

It does make sense. The FBI knows deep down the Dept of Just-Us and the FISA judges have their back.

Reminds me of the Monty Python skit - wife walks in on hubby in bed with a hooker - hubby flatly denies it. Hooker calmly puts on her clothes through the accusations and denials, and by time she leaves, wife has no proof and thinks she's misread the situation. Hubby wins.

The FBI got the laptop last December. FBI agents have known for months that these emails are authentic. This phony Russian Election Interference investigation is a cover story to protect the Biden Crime Family.
FBI Director Wray is hoping that he'll say in office long enough for a President Biden to keep him there. This is what James Comey was doing regarding Hilary. Although Comey lost his bet on Hilary being elected, so far he's not indicted and is wealthy from selling his books.

It is a heck of a lot more likely that this entire article is a disinformation effort fully coordinated and approved by the DNC than it is likely that the trove of emails area a disinformation effort by Russia.

We are watching the coup play out right in front of us. 4+ years of this and some cockeyed optimists are still waiting for those loyal, patriotic, Special Agents to step up and take down the rotten core of the FBI. They are NEVER going to show up. The record proves every single one of the Special Agents who swore an oath, lied.

Ah, the rotten, corrupt old FBI....always coming down on the political side of the Democrats, no matter what.
I am becoming more and more certain that the only solution for the FBI is to disband it and NEVER reconstitute it. We will just do without a federal law enforcement central agency. We didn't have that for the first 150 years, we'll survive just fine without this large criminal conspiracy with badges.

Just playing devils advocate, but maybe the Trump administration knew that the media and Biden camp would claim foreign disinformation, and have the FBI preemptively working toward debunking that claim. When the feds come back and say no, these emails are the real deal, the media and Dems are stuck. Sadly, that's probably not what's going on.

Stay tuned.

If it is a disinformation campaign why doesn't the Biden campaign say that the emails are not Hunter Biden's? They could easily have Hunter come out an say this wasn't his laptop? Who ya' gonna believe USA Today or your lyin' eyes?

This is an out and out smear. Everyone knows the emails are Hunter Biden's. The American media is attempting to discredit the NYPost (a tabloid???) and to muddy the water, all to protect Joe Biden. Shameful.

And as a double post thought... if they weren’t Hunter’s laptops... long forgotten- and now not his rightful property- why did Hunter’s lawyer ask for hard drive day before news hit front page?

What’s new? As the FBI has been running politically based anti-Trump Russian “collusion” investigations now for well over four years and has come up empty handed? If the Russian Secret intelligence services could be faking out the FBI for so long it’s common sense that the FBI must be reorganized at the top. If not, adversarial foreign intelligence services are going to be running the US Government and the FBI ragged with bogus leads, as their countries go about taking advantage of the USA all over the world. If you traveled lately it is clear to see that many foreigners in influential foreign countries believe that the USA has population groups that are among the stupidest in the world.

The FBI doesn’t probe political disinformation or any kind of publicly disseminated disinformation. It’s only a crime when you lie under sworn testimony. If that were the case our jails would be full of politicians and journalists. At best it’s a civil issue of liability or criminal for stealing a laptop which is just a slap on the wrist. If they are probing, it’s because the information contains possible evidence of criminal activity and they need to determine if it is reliable and usable as the basis for further investigation.

A very long article that recounts the Trump impeachment before getting to Biden, but does not mention that the Biden campaign has not disputed the authenticity of the laptop or the emails.

Typical FBI practice: Investigate the ones unmasking crimes by Democrats. It keeps conservatives on the defensive, gives the Enemedia a "hook" to distort, delay, and downplay the crime itself, and shields the Leftist wrongdoers from any consequences for their crimes. I long for the days of Eliot Ness's FBI, back when it was a respected and effective law enforcement agency.

Over and over we hear that the rank and file FBI agents are patriotic and honourable, and it's just the top that is corrupt. Sorry, no. Too much has been revealed about the FBI, and anyone still an agent is corrupt if only by continuing to work for an utterly discredited organization. It needs to be abolished. Start all over again and fill all the slots with men and women dedicated to truth and justice.

Does Wray know something we don't? This is some thing he would pull only if he was sure that Biden was going to win. I hope when President Trump is re-elected he slaps that stupid grin of his face once and for all.

I doubt the Biden boy would buy a used computer. so it was purchased by someone, and the purchase would have been reported back to apple, which would have records of the purchase. even my lowly HP laptop could be traced back to me through HP company records.
wouldn't the technology geniuses at the fbi contact Apple to find out who the original purchaser was?
Or will the FBI give the computer/hard drive to crowdstrike for analysis??
USA Today just lied itself in circles. It was never a good newspaper, but a quick source for various articles pre-dating the existence of Yahoo and Google.
now it is completely worthless.

To #17:
At the very least, Hunter Biden is guilty of two crimes: multiple counts of failing to register as a foreign agent (same crime as put Manafort in prison), and multiple counts of possession of crack cocaine.
At the very least, Joe Biden is guilty of treason (for selling out America's foreign policy for cash bribes) and, while not a crime, he is also guilty of repeatedly lying to the American people regarding his knowledge of Hunter's activities. Remember that while Joe failed to curb China's imperialistic moves in the S.China Sea on one ill-fated trip to China, his crack-head son, Hunter, came home in charge of a $1.5bn hedge fund...and not because he had any prior experience running any kind of fund, and not because he had been in and out of crack rehab a dozen times in prior years.

James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, et al, threw the FBI behind one of the several anti-Trump coup attempts in his first term. We watched and cheered their defeat, lamenting how they had destroyed the bureau's reputation and credibility. How foolish is it to treat "FBI investigation" as if it still carries the weight of integrity and credibility that it had before that?

This is a campaign flyer for Biden. The Post is now a "tabloid". USA Today is doing everything they can to smear the messenger while finding every loophole to cast doubt that the message is even true. They even throw in "Russia!" They go so far as to reword the quote from Biden's campaign about two GOP led investigations finding no wrongdoing in the article as if it's hard news. But then again, it wouldn't be the first time Biden was involved in plagiarism.
