What Happened to the Riots?

Original Article

The riots of 2020 are the battlefront of a movement hatched from an alternative history built upon an abstruse foundation of systemic racism and white privilege. In early summer, they created an apocalyptic spectacle of 23 American cities in flames (snip) According to the Bridging the Divide Initiative, a Princeton think tank that conducts U.S. protest modeling with a wink and nod to the left, there was a free fall in the number of BLM-associated demonstrations and uprisings from a late-May peak to an October low. Who or what was responsible for this plunge?

They're simply re-stocking & re-tooling, getting ready for November. Don't worry, they'll be back.

There's really a simple explanation. In many of the cities where there has been rioting, it's starting to get COLD at night and it's too much for the Leftist darlings. They went back to their parents' basements and are sipping hot chocolate. Of course there is the reality that polling is about 2/3 against the riots. Chaos didn't sell very well. Dems, like in so much they do, were shooting themselves in the foot. The problem is, the dems don't have anything else to offer. BO is about to hit the campaign trail but all he has to offer is tales of how wonderful it was when HE was President (and that Joe guy was VP), but EVERYONE knows that is a lie after seeing the economy under Trump. BO will babble but he will only diminish himself and Joe will vanish behind BO's monstrous ego. Heck, maybe they could seal the deal by dragging Hillary out to campaign for Joe as well. However, Joe might have to worry about getting hit on his head with a shovel. Hillary doesn't like to share her toys (the presidency) with others.

There are still a few around, a la Rochester N.Y last night, but what is truly significant is that there were NONE at the Presidential debate....none at all? Isn't that, as the Church Lady used to say, just special?

What happened to the riots? Better to ask where are the rioters. They are likely all busy filling out hundreds and thousands of 'ballots', and flooding the system. Hope I'm wrong.

The riots are still on here in Portland! They just destroyed a history museum and toppled a statue of Lincoln. Apparently our Marxists didn't get the memo that they should cease. Either that, or nobody counts rioting here in the People's Republic of Portland as happening in America.

Obviously the leftist and liberal Democrats covertly blew the whistle to their “foot soldiers” in Antifa and BLM to call off the riots, as much as possible, until after the November election.

Good read, and I'm sure good links, up until the end. "the recent arrests in the Wisconsin plot to kidnap the governor offer a first whiff of that transfiguration,..." Uh, I'm sure that was the MICHIGAN plot and I think that it is a smoke screen. I mean, you have people burning, looting, destroying, and devastating communities while killing cops on the one hand... and this small bunch of idiots who did NONE of that but flapped their gums on the other hand... and just look at what gets the press. Yeh. I'm so impressed with the FBI for catching these dudes. In just 6 months. Why, just imaging what that same FBI could do with Anthony Weiner's laptop (with its back up of all of Hillary's emails) in, say 4 years? Yeh. Just imagine.

If there were ever a time when a tide changed direction in a single political moment, it was at the Trump set-up with Savannah Guthrie. For about 45 minutes Guthrie just jumped all over The Donald (snip) A woman with an innocent question — I believe she was a Trump-leaner — asked her already forgotten question. But her comment changed the entire energy of this one-sided event. She looked at The Donald, now 45 minutes into being hectored at every comment, and said: "Mr. President, you have a beautiful smile." Trump seemed genuinely stunned

There are a lot of substantive comments to make about the two town halls. Trump held up well even though Savannah Guthrie was attacking him like a maddened chihuahua. Biden also held up well thanks to George Stephanopoulos's gentle handling and an increasing number of very long commercial breaks. (And was Biden fed the questions in advance? He seemed unusually prepared.) But the real star had to be the woman in the red mask sitting behind Trump. She nodded supportively every time he answered and shook her head every time the maddened chihuahua interrupted

The man who was to have moderated a town hall-style debate tonight between President Trump and ex-VP Biden has been suspended from his job as C-SPAN’s political editor after admitting to lying about his Twitter account being hacked. (snip) He likely concluded that his lie was going to be exposed and may have feared legal consequences if an FBI investigation came to that conclusion. It was the Commission on Presidential Debates that made the request to the FBI for an investigation, so it is not clear to me if Scully has any legal liability for filing a false report.

The polls appear to be shifting in favor of Joe Biden. A commonly heard explanation from Trump supporters is many of the polls are oversampling Democrats. This is true in some cases but not all. So, is something else going on here we do not really understand? (snip) According to a recent Cato Institute poll, 77% of conservatives are now afraid to express their political views versus roughly 50% of liberals. This includes 40% of Republicans with a college degree and 60% with a post-graduate degree, who are afraid their political views will harm their careers, versus only 25% of Democrats.

The surest way to convince people that they ought to pay attention to something is to tell them they shouldn’t be allowed to see it. About a century ago, when Boston had a municipal movie censor, producers vied to be “banned in Boston” as a way of convincing the public to flock to their flicks. This century’s version of the same lesson is called “The Streisand effect,” after the singer drew attention to her lavish seaside estate in California by attempting to suppress aerial pictures taken of it. Nobody ever said Joe Biden was a quick learner.

Recently, my pastor noted during his homily that it was Respect Life week. He mentioned that President Trump had signed an executive order to protect babies born alive. The order reads: "Every infant born alive, no matter the circumstances of his or her birth, has the same dignity and the same rights as every other individual and is entitled to the same protections under federal law.” I wasn’t sure why he issued this order because President George Bush had signed into law H.R.2175 - Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002. There's a bad joke about a music scholar who visits Beethoven's grave in Vienna. As he nears, he hears the Ninth Symphony being played backward. He turns to the cemetery caretaker and asks, "What's that strange music?" The caretaker answers, "Oh, that's just Beethoven de-composing." With apologies to Groucho Marx, we now have the answer to the question: “What if they held a Biden-Harris rally and nobody showed up?” The answer is a shocked TV street reporter. Arguably the biggest sensation to come out of the debacle of a town hall NBC had with President Trump was the so-called “nodding lady.” Positioned directly behind the President’s left shoulder for one of the most widely used camera angles, she was applauded by some and attacked by others for nodding her head and displaying thumbs up in agreement when the President answered many of the attack questions posed to him by Savannah Guthrie. But she wasn’t originally positioned there. Before the town hall began, a Caucasian lady was originally positioned there.
