It was a bit of a surprise to read tweets from Lanny Davis, the famous attorney and associate of Bill and Hillary Clinton, detailing the possible secession of the blue states from the rest of the country. You can read portions of the sequence of tweets here or here.
This may be Lanny's way of venting Democrat frustration. Despite every dirty trick the left has employed, Trump is still president and may continue to be through 2024. Okay, if you red-state rubes will not kneel before us, we will pick up our socialist toys and create a country of our own!

And of course, Davis doesn't know squat about the south or geography. The biggest natural port in North America is Norfolk and the Chesapeak Bay's other ports.
Boeing is moving to SC. The rest, they can keep.

Agree OP, great reads, and getting less "fictional" by the day.

I had forgotten what Lanny looked like. So I looked up "slimeball" in my Funk & Wagnalls - - and there was his picture.

Make my day. We will have a wall up around the Republic of Texas, one of the biggest exporters of oil and gas on the planet with the warm water ports to back it up.. Get here while you still can and leave your socialist tendencies behind you.

All those Red sections in Blue states would want to secede to the Red.
Therefore if not allowed they could call for help from Red America.
We send in troops to help as Blue would have how many to defend dem?
The result in the end is Blue city states surrounded by Red America.
Talk about pressure points.

The demoncrats already tried that once. It didn't work out so well for them. In this case, we should just let them go. California, Oregon and Washington can go it alone in their big cities. The rural areas where all the food is grown will no doubt continue to be part of the good ol USA. No food, no electricity, not much water since you allow it all to flow to the ocean to protect bait fish. We'll be happy to see you go.

Lanny Davis is and was useless. He worked at GE as an attorney and never understood the business and stood in the way of closing deals. We signed a breath of relief when he left.

Secession must be approved by both houses of Congress and signed by POTUS. It'll never happen ... close to impossible. That is why the Puerto Rican residents are forewarned that once admitted they can never get out. Hawaii is a case in point. Native Hawaiians want their islands back ... secede from the US and join the UN as an independent nation. Native Hawaiians were told a long time ago and even the last 50+ years under super-majority Democrat party rule that secession was impossible. How do you think the 2 Democrat senators and 2 Democrat congresspersons will vote on secession? Thought so.

When Texas seriously started talking about seceding from the union, lie-berals were screaming that they could not do that.
But when blue states threaten to secede, the rest of the union says "please do -- you will not be missed!!!!"{

I refuse to make fun of the first name “Lanny”. However, he may have a good idea, for the “Red” states, which could stop propping up the pathetic economic policies of the “Blue”. The separation agreement must leave a provision for immigration of people who believe in free enterprise and self-sufficiency.

I live in a bright red county in a blue state, my bright red county is surrounded by other bright red counties. There's not a chance in hell we secede! All it could possibly accomplish is a civil war in their shiny new blue country. Who are the masters of this new country which is not subject to the laws of the USA going to send to keep us in line? The State Police? No way, those guys are smarter that that! The National Guard? Nope, they all reside in red counties. Who, will make us comply? So, all you would end up with is tiny pockets of new blue country in the end. The red counties would secede from the new blue country the second new blue seceded. Secession talk is just stupid liberal dreaming.

Go ahead. Within 2 months the new blue country will be a starving shiite hole and will be begging the red country for foreign aid.

What are the options? 1 - fight, we know the left is willing to escalate to violence, so the response must also be violent. And what of the military? Leadership is corrupted by leftists. 2 - Acquiesce - accept a socialist oligarchy and live under their thumbs. 3 - Secession - perhaps the best of the bad options. Also the least likely to occur.

We cannot allow secession by states. It must be by coastal marxist enclaves. For NY State, kick out NYC, Hudson Valley, half of Long Island. For Colorado, kick out Denver & Boulder. For California, kick out a 35-mil-wide strip along the Pacific Ocean. And so on.

I doubt it, but perhaps this is the only solution.
Read Kurt Schlichter's dystopian novels about this. Start with Indian Country, and then go to The People's Republic.
Good reads, worth the time.
