moderator Steve Scully will have to decide
whether to cut President’s mic as Commission
prepares to tell candidates to accept new

The next presidential debate may give moderator Steve Scully the ability to turn off Donald Trump's microphone but some fear that won't stop the president from interrupting and talking over Joe Biden like he did in their first meeting. The two candidates will face each other next on October 15 in Miami for a town-hall style debate moderated by the C-SPAN host. The rules of engagement will be different at that meeting, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Wednesday, in an attempt to curb the chaos from Tuesday night's debate, which was compared to a dumpster fire.

This is absurd. Mute the President of the United States? How about ask better questions and don't pick sides with Biden and there will be no need to interrupt.

They want to turn off President Trump's microphone so Biden will be able to hear his campaign's answers to the moderator's questions through Biden's earpiece. Biden seem distracted at times during the debate because there were "too many voices" coming at him.

Why don't they get a conservative to moderate these debates instead of always picking some deranged leftoid????

This is a one-sided article to say the least. The writer totally ignores the facts that Biden too was involved in starting numerous interruptions. Check the videos and correct your article or move to CNN

Board of directions of the commission: John C. Danforth, Charles Gibson, John Griffen, Yvonne Hao, Jane Harman, Antonia Hernandez, Reverend John I. Jenkins, Newton N. Minow, Richard D. Parsons, Olympia Snowe. Are any of them not anti-Trump?

Don't forget, Biden interrupted President Trump first. Biden was also so disrespectful of the office of the President. I stopped watching after 1/2 of listening to Chris interrupt President Trump and not Biden. Disgusting.

70 years of U.S. Middle East policy resulted in 70 years of failure. In less than 4 years Trump has achieved monumental success in the middle east by tossing out the old rule book.
Finally, someone has come along and changed the way presidential candidates debate. I love it! And I am greatly encouraged by the fact that the usual stale-fart elitists are up in arms.
Looking forward to seeing Scully the morning after he mutes the President's microphone.

Who is on this Debate commission? Anything like the Whitehouse press corps? Thought so. It’s a miracle Trump was elected with the “all out” get Trump media! Fortunately, Trump talks directly to the American people! And we have the Mayor of Realsville, Rush Limbaugh!

Why did the Trump campaign agree to have a former Biden intern and Ted Kennedy staffer moderate a debate?

The President should just not show up and show these dweebs just how irrelevant they are. No Star No Show.
On a side note, there would be big money in a device that could mute Barack Obama.

Even if his mic is turned off President Trump can continue to talk loud enough to get picked up on the other open mics. He could walk closer to Biden and chase him around the stage so that his voice gets picked up.
As long as Biden can hear him he will be triggered to respond since it is very hard to ignore someone and keep your train of thought when you are under pressure.
My own approach that I used with the last debate is to not watch it in real time and wait for the YouTube stream. Then I'd fast forward and only listen to the first part of what Biden said. Since its usually just canned stuff that repeats DNC talking points I skip to the points where only President Trump is talking. This way the debates are much more pleasant to get through.

My, my, my. So much fuss to protect the man who, according to the left, already won the first debate. The party of BLM, Antifa and Hollywood are such delicate little things, aren’t they? Pubbies, you continually disappoint in letting the left dictate the terms.

CSpan is as biased as all get out.
I am seeing in this article the reflection of unseemly disrepect for the President of the United States. They speak of him like teachers in the lunchroom, clucking about an unruly kindergartener. Mute the President? Penalize him by taking away his time? Dangerous ground, boys. Dangerous ground.
I think that ditching the Commission on Presidential Debates is long past due.

Any organization that claims to be non-partisan is almost always lib. The Presidential Debate Commission is obviously pro-democrat. Moderators are invariably lefties. The predecessor to the commission, The League of Women Voters, is also lib. Dump the commission.

The reality is that TRUMP was in charge of the last debate and everybody knows it even as the media tries to gloss it over as a dumpster fire to deflect attention. TRUMP should not debate again citing Biden's outrageously disrespectful attitude. Biden's been exposed as a jerk and he has had to disavow some of his party's platform for the TV audience which includes old fashioned Democrats. Another debate allows him to rehearse canned and thoroughly discredited accusations like the one he tried on TRUMP ridiculing troops.

Now word on cutting Biden's mic.
Of course they will cut Trump's mic. They aren't news. They are propagandists. Its not fair. It will backfire on them big time. Can see Trump using any number of options including having a personal microphone.
Its not going to work.

a town hall debate., I will always believe, cost george H.W. Bush the presidency.
An obese teenaged black girl asked Bush a convoluted, non sense question, and he glanced at his wristwatch while she blathered a question about how the national debt affected him personally.
Dollar Bill Clinton jumped in and offered an answer completely unrelated to the question, but he was sincere and felt her pain.
then a pony-taIled doofus hipster pony-tailed dude told the two candidates that they should 'treat us as children and tell us what you will do to take care of us. Bush could have told the hipster that adults shouldn't act like children, but was too polite. and Dollar Bill Clinton launched into a litany of proposed programs.
bush lost at that point.
And no one should expect questions from 'undecided voters,' at the next presidential debate. That would be like believing that Chris Wallace was neutral at the first debate.
DJT's people let him down by agreeing to a town hall format.

Time for Mr. Microphone by Ronco. I'd be tempted to start with a demand for an apology from biden saying the President called dead troops losers, but the President will do what the President will do and if you are going to prove biden is a liar the debate will last all night. IF the rats steal this one, kiss your world goodbye. In fact kiss the world goodbye.

The League of Women Voters needs President Donald J. Trump for their debates a LOT more than President Trump needs any debate. Under anachronisms, find Leage of Women Voters. Right after hoop skirts and before sun bonnets.

If Trump tells them no, and if they refuse, then have Trump send in his people to take over the electronics and cameras. Such a move as cut off switches MUST be approved by both sides agreeing, or it ISN'T DONE!!
Also, to have a fair debate, have questions asked by someone working for the opposite side. Let Scully ask questions of Trump. Let Sean Hannity ask questions of Biden.
That would be a fair debate.

Daily Mail should have found the following:
1. Scully tweet from 2016 calling attention to a Never Trump column.
https://mobile.twitter.com/SteveScully/status/710943428314419201
2. Tweet of a young girl (rumored to be Scully's daughter) being manhandled by you know who.
https://twitter.com/SteveScully/status/739143342634700800
Of course GOP should have found all both as well.
