Darn right Trump won big!. People don't remember what the debaters said. They remember how they said it. My lasting impression is viewing Trump and Biden from the viewpoint of the TV camera behind the candidates. Trump was standing tall, showing confidence and LEADERSHIP - AMERICA'S LEADER! Biden, on the left, looked small, weak and frail - NOT OUR LEADER!

BS. If he'd won big people would have left feeling good about the whole thing. Reagan's speeches left people feeling good. Trump's just make people cringe. The fact that Biden's make people cringe worse may make Trump the winner, but not big. I felt like I was watching a couple of New York street thugs trash talking each other.
All this spinning by the faithful is expected, but it is not making the pig with lipstick look like a prom queen, and it doesn't help us to push that narrative. Dont tell me I didnt see what I saw.

Excuse me #2, but I beg to disagree. President Trump has had more patience than I would have ever. Four years of his character being assaulted and you think he should just shoulder it. Sorry he is showing us supporters that he is willing to scrap and fight for this country because America means a lot to Donald Trump. Scrapping and fighting isn't pretty but sometimes telling the truth plays out that way. Look at some of your family arguments. I have no idea where your faith life is (your business) but if you happen to have a Bible, go to Mathew 21:12. I bet that wasn't pretty.

My take-away from the essay is this great ending by Andrea: “Your mission, which I hope you accept, is to go to the polls on November 3. None of this mail-in stuff. Vote in person, every one of you, and make it a straight Republican ticket from Trump down to the local dog catcher.”

"Trump won in a big way." "he will always fight" "Trump also managed to expose what a nasty jerk Biden is." "Trump was utterly dominant, including dominating Wallace."
As he has been doing since the beginning, Trump spit in the eye of "polite" political society. This is absolutely necessary because the Leftist political society uses "politeness" to control the conversation, determining what is "OK" to say and think. Over time, they have declared that what REAL Americans think and say is not "acceptable", locking them out of political discussions through shaming.
Trump was a bull in the Leftist china shop. He refuses to be constrained by their foolishness. At the end of the day, he ruins all their plans and best of all, besides their manipulations, he shows how impotent they are. Sure, Biden spouted campaign lies but Trump had him spinning under his control and Chrissy Wallace was hapless. You can also be sure that Trump took Biden's measure. He KNOWS Biden's weaknesses. If there is another debate, it will be far worse for Biden.
Trump also confirmed that the media is part of the opposition, “I guess I’m debating you, not him,”, and then DISMISSED Wallace as inconsequential, “But that’s okay. I’m not surprised.”. This strategy, that he has used since 2016, clearly identifies the media as a combatant and then ridicules their capability. It has weakened the media to the point of uselessness. THAT is why they hate Trump so viciously. He took their mojo.
Yes, Trump went after his base, but he also went after all potential supporters who care about this Country. There are a bunch of independants and dems that do and Trump reminded them of America's can do, winning spirit, that Trump has exemplified for 4 years.

#2 ... The first time I voted was in 1980 for Reagan, and I remember it well. Reagan was a fighter, too, but he didn't face the obstacles Trump is now facing: the media and the Democrats AND the #NeverTrumpers all aligned to take down Trump and his family by using any means possible, legal and illegal. Wallace was the moderator to protect Biden and to try to keep Trump from getting the truth out. So, it was hardly a 'debate.' Sorry, #2, but our country needs someone who's willing and able to fight these dirty fights, and Donald J. Trump is willing to suffer the slings and arrows. He's been the only one to take it on. What you are witnessing is a civil war, and a civil war is never pretty.

Trump won doing what we ALL should do, fight for the TRUTH. When someone spouted leftist talking points, whether it was Biden or Wallace, he called it down. It's called "debating." Stand for TRUTH in the operable phrase here. Never, ever, ever quit! Not even when it might look impolitic. Bringing up Biden's corrupt kid was absolutely right. Biden's relations' shady deals while he was in government are ALL campaign issues for him. Make a big deal of it!
Biden looked pasty white with too many plastic surgeries to his face. His calling names and losing his cool spoke of a senile old man screaming at the neighborhood kids to get off his lawn. Trump bristled at lies, Biden bristled at truth. Big difference and people saw it.

Trump answered the first question, two minutes, then Biden spoke two minutes, then back to Trump and then Biden started the interrupting. Biden told lie after lie like he always does and Trump will not let his lies continue, he calls him out with the truth. Trump got several things out about Biden’s past actions, and lies, things that some people have never heard. Trump got Biden to disavow the Leftist platform, of course Biden is beholden to the Left and is fully supportive of whatever they tell him to do. Some people don’t start paying attention to elections until thirty days out, they need to know Biden’s history of lying and lousy leadership and they aren’t going to hear it from the media. Biden looked frail, pale, very elderly, mouth agape, and adjusting his wire. Will the media call him out on using a wire? Wallace did everything he possibly could to shut truth down and run interference for Biden, my God are they boyfriends? Politics is a dirty business and we finally have a street fighter President who loves this country and it’s citizens. Nervous Nellies are going to be uncomfortable. Too bad, so sad. Trump 2020.

The one-sided analyses by the MSM are annoying, and their facts are either false, misleading, or lacking context.
Actually, it was Biden who called Trump variously a liar, a fool, a clown, and of curse, a racist. He also told the President "Will you just shut up, man?'
Chris Wallace continued his audition for a position at CNN by actually contributing to Biden's diatribes against Trump. He is a disgrace to the once respected profession of journalism. At one point the President asked "Do I have to debate you too (to Wallace"). Worse, the few hard questions Wallace asked of Biden went unanswered, with no follow-up pressure from the hapless Wallace.
The Committee is looking for ways to improve the debate; I suggest getting a decent moderator.

These so-called debates are not ‘debates’ and never have been. They are set up to be political theater so I don’t know what people were expecting. Trump was aggressive and Biden was evasive and petty. Whether you liked their performances or didn’t it’s really irrelevant. No one changed their vote over this. And Wallace was a complete jackass. Was that a surprise?

I disagree with your premise, #2. No one feels good about any political debate these days. The left won’t allow it, as they turn everything into a nasty, vicious blood sport, even innocent dinner conversation. I watched the debate, as well, and I know what I saw. I saw Trump being the same guy he’s been for 3-1/2 years. Why on earth would anyone expect something different? If you don’t like him, ok, that’s your prerogative. But, with democrats wanting the next debate format changed, despite their loud, all-too-predictable cries of victory, I question just who is doing the spinning.

I think we were all uncomfortable with Biden and Trump yelling over each other and saying "shut up"...., because in our real life experiences, in our homes or work places, that would have been very traumatic to witness.
But I heard someone say on the news today that the reason we are in this mess with the "progressives" trying to seize the reigns of our government is because of feckless republicans who knuckled under and didn't fight back.
The days of gentlemen giving respectful speeches is apparently in our rear view mirror. We have a fighter representing us in the ring, but we may have to be able to stand a little of the spray on the front row, when he lands a punch.

Biden looked like he was dragged out of a nursing home, during a nap, was running on fumes. Many might believe, from Biden's looks, that he hasn't much longer to live. The democrats should be embarrassed for running a candidate in his shape but they aren't because they have no shame. It reminds of the democrats having Mueller run their Russia collusion investigation, as in not up to the job. Chris Wallace is no jounalist, he is more akin to phone a friend on an ongoing basis!

I think it does not matter who "won" the "debate." It was an opportunity to see what is important to each of these candidates for Leader of the Free World. Former VP Biden told me all he is interested in is regaining power for the Left; and he used emotional pleadings to try to keep his base and sway the opposition. President Trump used his actual achievements, warnings about socialism/communism, and promises (which he keeps) for a positive future for America. As others have said, "Be sure to vote and vote straight Republican."

Those who view style being more important than substance may cringe at some of President Trump's remarks, but they would be forced to do more than cringe if the democrats get control of the House, Senate, and White House!
Besides, people cringe because they are afraid. Afraid of what someone else may think. Afraid that other people are not as enlightened as themselves and can't understand what is happening.

I have no doubt the agenda for the debate was written by the DNC. Wallace started the debate with a confrontational question from a fake NYT article about Trump's taxes. That was the clue right where this debate was headed. Most of Wallace's questions were designed to trap Trump. Plus he injected his own opinion a few times. The one about Charlottesville was the most egregious. It was very apparent Wallace was shilling for his friends on the Left and in the process he looked like the back side of horse. FOX News should not renew his contract. He's no prize package. In my opinion, the only FOX person to moderate this debate should have been Maria Bartiroma.
President Trump may have interrupted Biden more than we liked, but there were words and blatant lies that Biden said that were ugly and showed a mean spirit.
Overall, I give the debate a D, Wallace an F, Biden a C, and Trump a B+

I haven't heard a single person say Trump shouldn't fight back. The issue some have is HOW he's doing that. There are tons of ways to drain the swamp and they all don't involve getting deep and dirty in the slime and muck yourself. He's smart enough to figure out that after 3 years if he's not getting the result he wants, he should try something different. So since he hasn't deviated at all from his style, he must be getting the exact outcome HE wants.

If Chris Wallace wanted a civilized debate he should not have been asking "gotcha" questions. Many of the questions put to President Trump were based on assassinations made by the Biden campaign. An example of what I mean is the the one about removing statues of Gen. Robert E. Lee. Wallace said, "You said about the demonstrations to remove Gen Lee's statue that 'there were good people on both sides of the argument'. Will you now renounce the the violence of the White Supremacist groups?" There are three things wrong with this question.
1. It assumes that the people in favor of keeping the statue were all White Supremacist.
2. It implies President Trump was calling White Supremacist good people.
3. And, most important, ignored the fact that President Trump condemned the violence of both White Supremacist and Antifa at the time and many times since then,
Wallace insisted that the President condemn them once again, which he did.
When President Trump asked Biden to condemn the violence of Antifa, Biden refused and Wallace let it pass.
It is outrageous that Wallace claims that President Trump did not answer the question.
As to Gen. Robert E. Lee, historians know that he was much more the leader of the Army of Virginia. When Lee agreed to surrender, many of his commanders wanted to continue to fight a guerrilla war. Lee admonished them to accept defeat rather then prolong the misery and suffer and work to heal the wounds of war. He used his influence to help restore peace. And, when the KKK arose, he spoke out against it. At that time, he was admired by both sides.

Some have suggested that President Trump should have allowed Biden to mess up instead of interrupting him. Only problem is that Wallace would have interrupted and tried to save Biden. If the moderator will have a mute button to shut off interruptions in the next debates, will a 'moderator' like Wallace mute himself? The "non-partisan" commission is definitely not that; they are as partisan as the swamp itself.

Trump does need to be more disciplined, and realize Joe will meander if given the opportunity.
He also needs to remind people, over and over, how he has been spied on, and hint how the previous administration didn't provide for a peaceful transition considering the spying, and the resistance many displayed. How he's been falsely accused simply to hurt the American people and economy, how some people watching know what it's like to be falsely accused, but how he won't back down, he's fighting for America, the American people to remain the best place to be in the whole world. Where hope and opportunity is available to anyone, from any background, from any circumstance they might start. That he's working for free, that he's donated his entire salary as President to charities, but how he still pays the taxes on that income.
He also needs to remind people he wasn't considered a racist until he announced he was running for POTUS, how he was honored many times by prominent African-Americans.
And, why do Democrats need to say this, as Chris Matthews once said, "people won't vote for a racist".
Remember, significant portions of the Democrat party were openly racist. President Woodrow Wilson was openly racist, and enshrined many of the institutional racist programs. How Joe Biden's own mentor, Robert Byrd, was the former grand wizard of the KKK, and Biden praised as "a good man". Thus, they need to portray anyone not a Democrat as racist. It's their dog whistle. And, ask, "how sick and twisted is that folks?"

President Trump doesn't need to win debates; he needs to win the election. To do that, he needs to win votes he doesn't already have. We are not the target he needs to acquire. I would crawl across a barbed wire barbecue to vote for President Trump. He's already got my vote and most of yours (I hope).
To win this election, President Trump needs to win more of the middle than Joe Biden. He needs to appeal to that target audience. Which means he needs to be appealing in some way. There are people in the middle who agree with almost everything Trump does and almost nothing he says, and they are particularly put off by the way he says it. Winning people over and appealing to voters is not weakness; it is the essence of how you win elections.
My concern is that President Trump harmed himself unnecessarily the other night, which harms me in turn, and our country in the end. I hope it isn't so, and I wish it were otherwise, but I also greatly fear much of what #2 said is true.

Good summation, #31/32
Does anyone remember the foreign policy question segment?
no
Does anyone remember that when DJT came to office ISIS was still rampaging throughout the Middle East and threatening us and the world, there were hundreds of thousands of refugees pouring into Europe, bringing chaos and violence in the region, all of the Mediterranean littoral? These terrorists raped and tortured and soaked the sands with blood, destroyed archaeological treasures which had survived in some cases millennia? ALL of that was the work product of Obama-Biden, Hillary and Kerry.
And there's more.
The media will not cover this extremely important fact: President Trump has presided over the destruction of ISIS and the restoration of a more peaceful and much less violent stasis in the area.
POTUS will really win a debate when he can be disciplined enough to articulate three main accomplishments.
Most people begin to forget, or put into the back of the mind (people can retain only so much in their minds at a time), once the "emergency" fades. Another example is the coronovirus. He needs to remind people that in the beginning we were told that more than 2 million people would die if the economy were not shut down, in order to flatten the curve blah blah. The LAST thing he wanted to do was wreck the economy, fully understanding how this would hurt individuals (he warned that the shut down could be more devastating than the virus), and his excellent economic success in an election year, but did what the "scientists" said.

Considering the massive voting fraud that is coming I'm not sure it matters what Trump did. I sure wish he had taken a moment to stop everything and ask Wallace why he and the rest of the media ALWAYS leave off the second part of the infamous quote. The part where he does condemn white supremacists. He could ask Wallace to admit that they do it to create a controversy that isn't there. Than turn and confront Biden about his lying and mentioning that the nonsense about that being a reason he decided to start his campaign, is a sick joke when the organizer of the riot was on record as a BIDEN supporter. 'Don't you feel guilty about being the root of a riot, Joe?'
Stupid viewers believe every lie the rats repeat all over the media. Spending a half hour on deliberate lies would have been a great service to the country. Lies and corruption. The bit about that's been debunked should have opened another pointed review of the facts. Hunter Biden has on the record payments from the Russian woman to start with. Explain that Biden. Then explain how Hunter got the AMTRAK job. Politicians in NY went to prison over smaller things. MAKE him discuss it. MAKE him account for it, on TV. Just like the tape of him bragging about interfering in the Ukraine investigation of money laundering.
You can't do any of that when you just react to every lie. MAKE A NOTE OR TWO. Then insist on the time to take them apart.

Of course Joseph Biden did give the debate watchers, as he looked stoney faced into the TV cameras, a little treatise on voting, just go vote. Nothing out of the ordinary, when he did that he wanted to keep from answering President Trump, and as we know, any old time corrupt liberal Democrat politician who spent over 47 years in DC should be able to do that.
One thing everyone should know about the old line liberal Democrats, when they meet you on the campaign trail, more often than not, they will ask what can I do for you? Then they promise the world, but in reality only hand out crumbs. Then you don't hear from them again until the run up to the next election.

I have to say that I didn't believe that the bias would be so obvious and that the boosting of the failing Biden would be done so straight forwardly. What a shame that it couldn't be a REAL debate rather than the sham the the democrats made of it.
