It’s very late at night here in Sandpoint, Idaho. There is a magnificent silvery blue moon casting a glittering spell on the waters of Lake Pend Oreille. I am in my dining room looking at the accumulation of mail over the past few days. Nothing good. I just get bill after bill and that’s depressing. I don’t want to pretend I’m broke, but that torrent of bills is wearing me down.
Tonight was the first debate between Mr. Joe Biden and President Donald J. Trump. To put it mildly, it was discouraging to me as a citizen and as a student of politics. Herewith a few notes on the evening.

Okay. Fine. Most of the MSM , post-debate, want the debates closed down. The 2nd tier MSM says the President did so-so. What does 2 and 2 equal. Four. President Trump won the debate, okay? A lot of us were watching, too. Enough said.

Every word out of China Joe’s pie hole was a lie - Trump will defend himself, everyone knows that. If trump had bored in just a little more on Hunter the whore mongering drug addict, I believe the “corn pop” Creepy Joe we all know and love would have come out, regardless of whatever drugs he is on.

This is the result of the culture rot which began in the 60’s. It has affected every aspect of our lives. We have devolved into an extremely casual society where decorum, proper English, manners, appropriate attire has been abandoned. We no longer dress for any occasion. Church? Weddings? Funerals? Business? It’s come as you are and people have taken that to heart. We no longer dress as a means to express respect. Therefore, we believe very little deserves respect. Some of us are trying to keep the status quo going because we understand that how you dress determines many times how you behave. As an older person, I am saddened by it. Don’t even get me started on language. My heavens, the words that pass for conversation now are having the same affect on society as the way we dress. So much of what matters has been rejected by society because individuals have denounced the value of civility. America has become profane and slovenly. My fear is where do we go from here? What will this country look like in a few years? We must teach our children that we are better than this.

" it’s been a sad, chaotic day"
Yes, we are where the Left has dragged us. Trump, rather than ceding the ground, has chosen to fight them where they stand, in the mud, and beat them. This is why we fought on the beaches of Normandy, because that is where the enemy was.
Ben, bless his desire, would like to hose everyone off, coiff their hair, and sit down with tea and have a polite debate. There is one BIG problem with that. The Left cannot win such a discussion and they know it. Thus we have riots, to intimidate.
The illusion of political politeness is the same as thinking the odds are fair in Las Vegas. The Leftists have long rigged the playing field in their favor. They have been pompously polite (think of Jon Carry lecturing on foreign policy) because they believed they couldn't lose. Now we have Trump, who refuses to play in the rigged game (and builds peace in the Middle East). Trump who, in stepping outside their elitist structure, has achieved amazing, almost unbelievable things. If the media were honest, they would credit him with thinking-outside-the-box, fresh ideas. They can NOT because working outside their strictures cuts THEM out of the loop and their POWER and CONTROL is more important than outcomes. As their control failed, their nasty, vicious reality has been exposed.
When Trump pointed out that law enforcement does NOT support Biden, it was far more meaningful than the actual words. The Left exists outside law and established structure and only pretends to follow the rules. Just as calm in the streets will prevail when law and order is supported, political civility will be restored when honesty and truth is restored to the debate of ideas. For now, it may take some "brass" political knuckles to make it happen. So be it.
Rather than moan over the raw struggle we face, I look forward to the required victory we seek, and celebrate the WON battles along the way.

#6 is correct. The wife and I dress better in Church than most pastors do. The F word is commonly used by all ages and genders. The phrases thank you and you are welcome are nearly extinct. I reckon getting older is a good thing, however, seeing society decay is an awful way to end such a great life on earth. Luckily, the best is yet to come. Have a blessed day folks.

The left is rioting, burning, murdering, and cheating in order to obtain complete power over people's lives, which they never intend to surrender. I don't think that is an occasion for being civil, but a time for confrontation, a time for fighting. The right will never surrender this country to socialists.

His comments are good.
His closing is right on the money.
"Mr. Trump is no saint but he looks a lot better than Mr. Biden. If we have a Biden/BLM government coming up, we are in for some hard times.
Much much worse than today."

#6- A kajillion likes! Wonderful and deeply appreciated composition of what so many of us along in years have observed and grieve for our country and, more importantly, the disregard for appropriate church attire—for the dignity and reverence in tribute to our Lord. Prayer is powerful and desperately needed at this time for President Trump, his family, our nation as founded. Only by Grace.
