President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden went head-to-head on Tuesday night, and moderator Chris Wallace got knocked out. Wallace seemed to push left-wing talking points to help Trump and hurt Biden, but both candidates talked over him. Trump and Biden brought out the fisticuffs and both got in a few good hits. Biden stumbled but he did not come across as a bumbling fool.
While Trump and Biden both went on the offensive, Trump got in more clear statements and Biden came across as shifty, especially on packing the Supreme Court.

Longtime Republican pollster Frank Luntz told CNBC on Wednesday that participants in his focus group were let down by the first debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
"I have never had a session blow up where the participants were disappointed on both sides, where everyone was embarrassed and everyone was upset about what had happened," Luntz said on "Squawk Box," while agreeing with the participants' assessment.

California is the first state in the nation to consider reparations for those harmed by slavery and racial discrimination. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill on Wednesday that will create a task force to study the issue. "After watching last night's debate, this signing can't come too soon," Newsom, a Democrat, said on a phone call announcing the decision. The legislation, Assembly Bill 3121, calls for a nine-member task force to document the historical and present impact of enslavement on African Americans and to "[r]ecommend appropriate remedies." Those recommendations, including the possibility of "full reparations," are to be presented in

Chris Wallace’s overt defense of Joe Biden throughout the debate on Tuesday night was so obvious, so blatant, he should be proscribed from ever “moderating” a debate again.
Wallace’s performance was as Biden’s protector, his advocate, and that is undeniable. He stepped in at every moment Biden seemed lost: court-packing, lack of support of law enforcement, and Hunter’s criminality.
The debate was so poorly managed. The questions were designed to aid Biden, to coddle him. No wonder Trump felt duty-bound to interrupt. Trump was debating both Wallace and Biden and only one of them is sentient.

A tidal wave from the mainstream media is speculating whether the two remaining debates between President Trump and Joe Biden should even be held after their brutal first showdown Tuesday night in Cleveland.
There appears to be a wide consensus about the messy and ugly nature of the first debate -- which was filled with interruptions and insults. Two more debated are scheduled for Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, with a vice presidential debate set for Oct. 7.
During MSNBC's post-debate coverage, "ReidOut" host Joy Reid questioned her colleague Nicolle Wallace, who has worked on presidential campaigns in the past, if Biden should bother showing up to the next debate.

Joe Biden was in some kind of foul, putrid mode at the debate last night.
Many people have cited memorable lines from the contentious political slugfest, but the lines that stand out to me are the grotesquely disrespectful ad hominem insults Biden directed at the president of the United States.
The Rev.com transcript shows tons of them:
"He's a fool on this."
"Everybody knows he's a liar."
"Will you shut up, man?"
"Keep yapping, man."
"He's the racist."
"He's Putin's puppy."
"He never keeps his word."
"Well, it's hard to get any word in with this clown."
"You're the worst president America has ever had."
What kind of argument for 'civility' and 'decency' and

A group of Pennsylvania lawmakers posed topless to help remind voters to avoid submitting so-called naked mail-in ballots. “Desperate times call for desperate measures!” Allegheny County Councilwoman Bethany Hallam tweeted on Saturday. “So your favorite elected officials got naked so that you remember to make sure that your mail-in ballot is NOT submitted without its secrecy envelope!! #nonakedballots #dressyourballot.” The topless tweet comes after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that ballots had to be rejected if not enclosed in the proper secrecy envelope.
The decision left Democratic leaders fearing a large number of votes could be invalidated

Verizon has been quietly scrambling to unload HuffPost as it grapples with continued losses at the left-leaning news and culture website, The Post has learned.
The telecom giant — which acquired the site formerly known as the Huffington Post as part of its $4.4 billion purchase of AOL in 2015 — has approached multiple digital-media companies during the past few months in a bid to get the property off its books as losses accelerate due to the coronavirus, according to sources close to the situation.
Verizon has pitched the property to prospective buyers including Thrillist-owner Group Nine Media, Rolling Stone publisher Penske Media Corp., Bustle Digital Media and J2 Global

Community health advocates and some aldermen called Tuesday for creation of a crisis response team that excludes police officers to help people experiencing mental health emergencies.
“Currently, the city’s response to crises has been done and managed exclusively by the city’s police department,” said Arturo Carrillo, lead organizer for the Collaborative for Community Wellness, a citywide coalition of community groups. “As a result, the largest mental health provider in this city and this country is Cook County Jail.”
Instead, Carrillo, a licensed social worker, said the crisis response team would be staffed by paramedics and social workers and operated by the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Boeing Co. will set plans this week to consolidate 787 Dreamliner assembly in South Carolina, people familiar with the matter said, ending production of that jetliner in Washington state as the coronavirus pandemic saps demand for aircraft.
The decision carries significant implications for the Seattle-area economy and Boeing’s unionized workforce around Puget Sound. It wasn’t clear over what period of time the consolidation would play out, or how many employees might be affected by the move. Boeing could announce the plans as soon as this week, some of the people familiar with the matter said.

The final question of the night by debate “moderator” Chris Wallace was to ask President Trump and Joe Biden to tell his supporters not to riot.Violent leftist groups have rioted and looted in city after city across the US since May. Leftist rioters have caused over a billion dollars in damage. In Minneapolis over 1,500 buildings and businesses have been damaged or destroyed. For Wallace to ask Trump supporters to quit rioting is an absolute disgrace!!!Chris Wallace was an embarrassment to journalism.
