In the greatest showdown in the history of American politics, it’s Spartacus vs. the Colonialist! It will be a cage fight to the death. Only one gladiator will exit the ring. There will be just one survivor on the island in a sea of blood! Finally, some good news for American popcorn farmers. Best of all: everyone watching already knows who is going to win. SPOILER ALERT: It’s not Spartacus. The true victor will surely be the Notorious ACB — Amy Coney Barrett, in the black robe, wearing colonial garb.

They're trying, though. Inuendo about membership in a cult that subjugates women, too many kids, blah, blah, blah. If it's good, the left hates it.

She can't be smeared by the Dems? Try this - She was a college professor. Some former female student comes forward and claims Barrett made unwanted sexual advances in return for an "A" in the class. Everyone knows religious people have sexual skeletons in their closets. The Dems pretend to be shocked, and demand the hearings be suspended until the FBI does another full background check. Meanwhile, the Media finds a couple of other former students who say the same thing happened to them. She still gets confirmed, but she has been smeared for life.

Charles Hurt is a good guy, but the Article itself and its title could not be more incorrect. "Sorry, Charlie." The democrats will smear Any over and over. Although democrats know Amy will be confirmed, their intent is not to defeat her nomination, it's to plant doubt regarding her character into the minds of the folks to thereby bolster their future never- ending attacks on her opinions. Similarly to the democrats utterly false accusations against Bret Kavanaugh, it's going to be infuriating to watch the crap that will be thrown at Amy. Hopefully the viewing public will hold the vicious attacks against these democrats, but it's not a certainty. Their attacks against Kavanaugh hurt the democrats to a degree, but not nearly enough. My hope is that Kamala Harris' questioning of Amy will be so over the top that the viewers will clearly see her ultra-partisan viciousness, and will realize that Harris is a serious threat to future of our country.

One of the Democrats will, again, attack her for being an actual Catholic. It's unconstitutional, and bigoted. She was first in her class at Notre Dame, and the 40-ish clerks on the Supreme Court when she clerked for Scalia, deemed her the brightest of the group. High praise which should be enough. I hope she knows which states would have laws in place should Roe end up being overturned, and remind that Senator of that fact. New York, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii all allowed legal abortion prior to the 1973 decision, and nearly all states have some law allowing for legal abortion should Roe be overturned.

The lying democrats can't smear Amy with the truth but there will be several lies from anonymous sources concerning anything from drugs, prostitution, love affairs to shoplifting hair care products in the eighth grade. If the democrats have one talent, it's in attempting to ruin the lives of people who do not follow their mantra. The two Haitian children will no doubt be dragged through the mud. Only the Clintons are allowed to help Haitians, oh, wait...

Chris Wallace is a miserable debate moderator 12 replies

Chris Wallace was always going to be a terrible choice as a moderator for any of the three presidential debates, let alone the first one, but good God, did he fulfill that destiny with flying colors. We knew it back in July when Wallace attempted to fact-check President Trump on the accurate claim that former Vice President Joe Biden was on the record committing to defunding police departments. Biden is, in fact, on record committing to that, and yet, Wallace pretended we hadn't heard it with our own ears. The Fox News anchor was supposed to show up and moderate a debate, with it having expressly been stated

President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden went head-to-head on Tuesday night, and moderator Chris Wallace got knocked out. Wallace seemed to push left-wing talking points to help Trump and hurt Biden, but both candidates talked over him. Trump and Biden brought out the fisticuffs and both got in a few good hits. Biden stumbled but he did not come across as a bumbling fool. While Trump and Biden both went on the offensive, Trump got in more clear statements and Biden came across as shifty, especially on packing the Supreme Court.

A  hot mess does not make for a great debate. Or an interesting one or even an entertaining one. America was mistreated Tuesday. A highly anticipated showdown in a closely fought presidential election in a deeply divided country had the potential to be a clarifying moment. Instead, it was a sweaty, formless flop. Worse, it was annoying. Neither the candidates or moderator Chris Wallace acquitted themselves well. Joe Biden was sharp and coherent enough, though he relied heavily on notes in front of him.

When Michael Flynn heads to court for his final sentencing hearing today, a lifetime of respected national service will hang in the balance on what is said and done. I am not talking about Flynn but of Judge Emmet Sullivan. There is no issue over the dismissal of the charge of Flynn lying to federal investigators. The only issue is whether, just before an election, Sullivan will use the hearing as a forum for injudicious commentary. I have practiced law for years before Sullivan and praised him for his demeanor and record as a judge. He has served with distinction since 1994 in cases ranging from Guantanamo Bay

The decision carries significant implications for the Seattle-area economy and Boeing’s unionized workforce around Puget Sound. It wasn’t clear over what period of time the consolidation would play out, or how many employees might be affected by the move. Boeing could announce the plans as soon as this week, some of the people familiar with the matter said.

There appears to be a wide consensus about the messy and ugly nature of the first debate -- which was filled with interruptions and insults. Two more debated are scheduled for Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, with a vice presidential debate set for Oct. 7. During MSNBC's post-debate coverage, "ReidOut" host Joy Reid questioned her colleague Nicolle Wallace, who has worked on presidential campaigns in the past, if Biden should bother showing up to the next debate.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden will take center stage for the presidential debates that begin on Tuesday, but the real work will be done by a small but influential group of experts and consultants who specialize in preparing them to enter the arena. For 43 months out of every 48, these individuals live their lives as lawyers, academics, politicians, and consultants. But for five crucial months, from June through October of a presidential election year, they shift gears and become the researchers, writers, trainers, and coaches for the American gladiatorial spectacle. In light of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, Democrats have gone all-in on vote-by-mail schemes, ostensibly to protect people from the virus. Yet this shift empowers nefarious criminals who subvert elections by buying and selling ballots and engaging in other forms of voter fraud. Thomas Spencer, a lawyer in the Bush v. Steve beat me to this, I see, but here are a few additional comments on the New York Times’s felony du jour. Well, to be fair, they just aided and abetted the felony. Maybe someday that will be illegal. First, I doubt whether anyone cares. Donald Trump has been president for four years, and if you think he has done a good job (as I do), you are hardly going to be deterred from voting for him by the fact that he hires good accountants. The people who are excited about the Times felony/scoop weren’t going to vote for him anyway. Second, on its face the Times “expose” falls flat.

California is the first state in the nation to consider reparations for those harmed by slavery and racial discrimination. Gov. "After watching last night's debate, this signing can't come too soon," Newsom, a Democrat, said on a phone call announcing the decision. The legislation, Assembly Bill 3121, calls for a nine-member task force to document the historical and present impact of enslavement on African Americans and to "[r]ecommend appropriate remedies." Those recommendations, including the possibility of "full reparations," are to be presented in

Chris Wallace’s overt defense of Joe Biden throughout the debate on Tuesday night was so obvious, so blatant, he should be proscribed from ever “moderating” a debate again. Wallace’s performance was as Biden’s protector, his advocate, and that is undeniable. He stepped in at every moment Biden seemed lost: court-packing, lack of support of law enforcement, and Hunter’s criminality. The debate was so poorly managed. The questions were designed to aid Biden, to coddle him. No wonder Trump felt duty-bound to interrupt. Trump was debating both Wallace and Biden and only one of them is sentient.

Joe Biden was in some kind of foul, putrid mode at the debate last night. Many people have cited memorable lines from the contentious political slugfest, but the lines that stand out to me are the grotesquely disrespectful ad hominem insults Biden directed at the president of the United States. The Rev.com transcript shows tons of them: "He's a fool on this." "Everybody knows he's a liar." "Will you shut up, man?" "Keep yapping, man." "He's the racist." "He's Putin's puppy."
