Chris Wallace says he hopes

Chris Wallace, the host of “Fox News Sunday” and moderator of the first presidential debate between President Trump and Joe Biden, said that he hopes to remain as “invisible as possible” during their faceoff on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio. “I’m trying to get them to engage…to focus on the key issues…to give people at home a sense of why they want to vote for one versus the other,” he said. “If I’ve done my job right, at the end of the night, people will say, ‘That was a great debate, who was the moderator?’”

I'll tell Chris how to be "as invisible as possible"........don't show up with that smirk on your face and try to help Biden get through this ordeal !!!! We all know which way Wallace leans and he certainly isn't going to allow Trump to be at his best. My first question to Wallace would be " has Biden been fed the questions so his teleprompter can be programmed with the answers before the meeting''.

I'm going to watch (the demeanor and tricks) of Chrissy "little dweeb" Wallace at least as closely as watching the words and actions of Biden and President Trump. Wallace is a sneaky anti-Trumper and he'll attempt to be coy. Viewers should notice how many times Chrissy says his snarky, dismissive and condescending "but sir, but sir" to the President.

More and more Americans are realizing that "liberals" always lie... saying he wants to invisible means he wants to be the center of attention. He prides himself on being a great moderator... but we see his extreme bias... which exposes his lack of understanding, wisdom, patriotism. Come to think of it, he is poster boy for the Democrat(ick) Party.

This would be a great for Chris Wallace if he can pull it off. He would immediately rise to the top of the heap. I doubt that he can. He cannot stand Trump as evident with his past words and actions. There are no middle of the road journalists anymore. Nobody sits on top of the fence. To the democrats, you are either with us or you become the enemy!

Maria, on Fox Business, reported that Chris Wallace WILL NOT include anything about China in the debate! This is nothing but blatant bias, because China is a weak issue for Biden, and a strong issue for President Trump. Wallace is a smarmy, mealy-mouthed excuse for a journalist. He has no business moderating a debate!

But the worst part of the whole thing is that this will be the closest Pres Trump gets to a fair shake from a moderator. They may as well have Jill Biden moderate the rest of the debates. I believe one of the moderators was a former intern for Joe Biden.

Chris Wallace is a miserable debate moderator 8 replies

Chris Wallace was always going to be a terrible choice as a moderator for any of the three presidential debates, let alone the first one, but good God, did he fulfill that destiny with flying colors. We knew it back in July when Wallace attempted to fact-check President Trump on the accurate claim that former Vice President Joe Biden was on the record committing to defunding police departments. Biden is, in fact, on record committing to that, and yet, Wallace pretended we hadn't heard it with our own ears. The Fox News anchor was supposed to show up and moderate a debate, with it having expressly been stated

President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden went head-to-head on Tuesday night, and moderator Chris Wallace got knocked out. Wallace seemed to push left-wing talking points to help Trump and hurt Biden, but both candidates talked over him. Trump and Biden brought out the fisticuffs and both got in a few good hits. Biden stumbled but he did not come across as a bumbling fool. While Trump and Biden both went on the offensive, Trump got in more clear statements and Biden came across as shifty, especially on packing the Supreme Court.

A  hot mess does not make for a great debate. Or an interesting one or even an entertaining one. America was mistreated Tuesday. A highly anticipated showdown in a closely fought presidential election in a deeply divided country had the potential to be a clarifying moment. Instead, it was a sweaty, formless flop. Worse, it was annoying. Neither the candidates or moderator Chris Wallace acquitted themselves well. Joe Biden was sharp and coherent enough, though he relied heavily on notes in front of him.

When Michael Flynn heads to court for his final sentencing hearing today, a lifetime of respected national service will hang in the balance on what is said and done. I am not talking about Flynn but of Judge Emmet Sullivan. There is no issue over the dismissal of the charge of Flynn lying to federal investigators. The only issue is whether, just before an election, Sullivan will use the hearing as a forum for injudicious commentary. I have practiced law for years before Sullivan and praised him for his demeanor and record as a judge. He has served with distinction since 1994 in cases ranging from Guantanamo Bay

A tidal wave from the mainstream media is speculating whether the two remaining debates between President Trump and Joe Biden should even be held after their brutal first showdown Tuesday night in Cleveland. There appears to be a wide consensus about the messy and ugly nature of the first debate -- which was filled with interruptions and insults. Two more debated are scheduled for Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, with a vice presidential debate set for Oct. 7. During MSNBC's post-debate coverage, "ReidOut" host Joy Reid questioned her colleague Nicolle Wallace, who has worked on presidential campaigns in the past, if Biden should bother showing up to the next debate.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden will take center stage for the presidential debates that begin on Tuesday, but the real work will be done by a small but influential group of experts and consultants who specialize in preparing them to enter the arena. For 43 months out of every 48, these individuals live their lives as lawyers, academics, politicians, and consultants. But for five crucial months, from June through October of a presidential election year, they shift gears and become the researchers, writers, trainers, and coaches for the American gladiatorial spectacle. Chris Wallace: Trustworthy Debate Moderator? 57 replies

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

“Two weeks to flatten curve.” Remember that? It was several months ago now. The deal elected officials struck with the American people was to trade lockdowns for hospital capacity. The fear in the early days of the COVID pandemic was that hospital capacity would be overwhelmed if we didn’t lock down, curb activity, and so forth. So we got “two weeks to flatten the curve.” New York City built a hospital into its Javits Convention Center. President Trump sent a Navy hospital ship to handle the expected caseload. None of that capacity was needed. Way back in June, CNN declared that New York had “flattened the curve.”
