On Saturday, as many expected, President Trump announced that Judge Amy Coney Barrett was his nomination to fill the empty seat on the Supreme Court. (snip) Bewilderingly, Democrats claim that Barrett is a racist because she adopted two children from Haiti. The Dem strategy backfired during the Kavanaugh hearings. Be interesting to see if this confirmation goes a bit easier than we all expect. If the Dems do attack her, all the attack dogs will be female.

The rats won't peaceably accept the loss of this seat just like they wont accept the loss of the election. Peaceful transfer of SCOTUS position is a thing of the past with them. Wonder if the republicans could make it like the impeachment hearings. Behind closed doors and just leak the most outrageous attacks.

During the useless confirmation hearings, when the dims ask Judge Barrett about her pro-life views, she should explain in detail where she stands. Then counter by asking each dim - "Are you grateful that your mother did not abort you?" And see how each one of them answers.

I agree with #1. It's distressing to witness the depths of insanity, ugliness, stupidity and irrationality, and obscene lies and innuendo oozing out of every Dem/Left orifice. As for the adopted children, are the hectoring pestering nags in the media concerned about ANY mixed-race arrangement? Are they averse to mixed marriages? For example, Harris and her husband. Or, about the product of such a relationship such as Barack Hussein Obama, whose mother was white and who denigrated his own grandmother, referring to her dismissively as, a "typical white person?" Are these shallow thinkers advocating the return to old Democrat policies of segregation, just under a little different rubric, like "they" want to be segregated? Can't find adequately opprobrious words to describe Maher, so i'll just say he's a vile, pompous ass.

There is NO constitutional or legal reason to demand a delay beyond the election. It is a purely political demand. If the Democrats have a right to make it, then Republicans have a right to insist on being allowed to follow the Constitutional requirement. By calling this process illegitimate Democrats are saying two things (1) The President making the nomination is himself illegitimate. Therefore the 2016 election is not valid (2) They occupy a higher moral ground so the Republicans have no right to claim equal status. They have been making both arguments for four years. It is for the people to choose. AFTER the approval process is complete..

"But Democrats are not sane." "Democrats are incapable of refraining from attacking her" "Trump must have known that the leftists’ compulsions would be their Achilles’ heels." I am sure that part of Trump's reason for picking Coney Barrett is her equanimity under fire. Trump's nominee, no matter who it turned out to be, will be attacked. Everyone KNOWS this. Since Mitch has the votes already, it will be a pointless show purely for the purpose of pettily venting Leftist anger that RBG is gone and so is the Left's hold on the SCOTUS and it is the evil Trump that accomplished it. I can imagine the conversation with Judge Coney Barrett. "You saw the confirmation hearing for Justice Kavanaugh? Can you deal with that kind of viciousness or worse? Suppose they attack your kids?" If the dems attack Judge Coney Barrett too viciously, some women, who already have a problem with touchy feely Joe, are going to have a hard time supporting dems. The Left is driving the dem bus and seems ignorant that most of the voters are NOT Leftists so they may not care who they offend. In the end, Amy Coney Barrett will be a SCOTUS Justice and the dems will be shut out and it will be good.

On the face of things, the July 2016 murder of Seth Rich had intrigue enough for a full season of House of Cards. (snip) To understand how a story this potentially explosive could be suppressed for so long, it is necessary to understand one basic fact of Washington life: Donald Trump received just 4.1 percent of the District's vote in the 2016 election. Trump's election disrupted short-term strategies and long-term expectations in every one of the capital's major institutions, local and federal, public and private, the legal community among them.

The New York Times is undoubtedly pleased that it published more than two decades’ worth of Donald Trump’s tax returns. The self-congratulations are premature. The Times’ article reveals that Trump was telling the truth all along about his audit. We can also see that Obama’s policies benefitted rich people. Finally, because the policies show how our complicated progressive tax system will always benefit rich people with good accountants, the Times unwittingly advanced the argument for a flat tax.

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
