A new sitcom about a same-sex couple is being developed for ABC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the multi-camera project will focus on first-time parents Sam and Bertie, “whose lives take a turn when Alex, their spontaneous biological donor-daddy, pays them a visit and becomes part of their lives.” The show will be written and executive produced by Canadian-born comedian, actress and writer Sabrina Jalees.(Snip) The still-untitled project comes from 20 Television, a part of Disney Television Studios. Sam Saifer (“Broad City”) will also executive produce. Jaales, who speaks about her experience of coming out as a lesbian

I started watching one of their new shows last season (Stumptown) -- until they revealed the main character was bisexual. Click (off)!

I'm surprised it's not "Bert and Ernie," per the Sesame Street cesspool.

HERE'S SOMETHING DISNEY SHOULD CONSIDER.... AN AUDIENCE....they are selling a product.... WE are the customers... if WE can't identify with the characters... no matter how Nobel Disney thinks the project is.... no one will watch and sponsors will not support it...so unless Disney is in this for a "feel good" payment... it ain't happening...

Decades ago Newton Minow called television a "vast wasteland." That is still true. Now more than ever. My dad called it the "idiot box."

Is there any show on main stream TV that doesn't have homosexuals.
They represent 2% of the population and nearly 100% of the TV.

I had a gay friend who became a sperm donor that allowed lesbian couples to becom legal parents. He had zero legal rights slthough as best as I can tell he did have relationships with all of the kids. In fact, his primary motivation was so that HE could have kids and simultaneously maintain his homosexual lifestyle. He did this four times. He was quite proud of himself for this.
I, on the other hand, consider going out of one's way to intentionally and with premeditation deprive a child of having a father in the home as an extraordinarily selfish act.

Not exactly groundbreaking. Decades ago there was Ellen Degeneres' sitcom, 'Will & Grace' and several characters on 'Roseanne'.

I predict in 10 years there will be a sit-com featuring a married couple. The husband will be around 40yrs. old his spouse will be about 10yrs old. Won't matter if the 10yr old is male or female. And watch how those who are horrified about this will be vilified by social media.

If you want to watch a cute show give Bob Hearts Amadolah (sp) a try. We’re really going for a season 2.

Producers say they expect it to be a BIG international hit in Saudi Arabia where the Arabian sense of humor is so sophisticated.

It will stay on long after it's ratings warrant for it's "social value".

Sorry, perverts aren't funny. I will not EVER watch a show about perverts.
NCIS: New Orleans was a show I used to watch every week. When the obnoxious NY lesbian came on, that was the end of it. Haven't watched the show in years now.

I have cut the cable, so I don't know what advertisers are sponsoring these shows, so those products aren't on my have to have list. It won't end until companies stop getting a return on their advertising dollars and stop supporting this nonsense. When the company loses money and the shareholders rebel, they might figure out what's wrong.

And I was already displeased a bit when the excellent Zoe McClellan left NCIS: New Orleans, too. No idea why she left, but she is a favorite, likeable actress.

I watched a couple episodes of "Broad City" when it was on, repellent, predictable and hateful as only progressives can be hateful. So of course the "critics" said it was great but they too are repellent, predictable and hateful as only progressives can be hateful. Expect more reductive destruction with this new effort.
But yeah, woke so nothing else will matter.

Who's going to play the transgender Mr. Roper?
(For the non-Boomers, that's a reference to Three's Company.)

I guess sitcoms about normal people are just too hard to write. Well lets see if viewers are laughing with the new characters or at them. Great thing about watching TV at home, you can insult, criticize and demean anybody you feel like for whatever reason suits you.
Liberal media types think people care about LGBTQ issues, most don't care and find it annoying that they are being interjected into their entertainment for no redeeming social value other than to satisfy the whims of some compromised studio executives.
Wonderful thing about today's virtually endless viewing options, you never have to watch ABC to find something respectable to watch. For that matter I'm surprised anyone actually watches ABC anymore. I thought they were a sports/fake news channel.
