"Hey guys. Just letting you know that I'm not gonna run the league this year. My heart's not in it plus at least two guys are done with the NFL in general. Maybe next year all of the BS will blow over but until then y'all take care."
This is how my NFL fantasy football league (established ca. 2005) came to its inglorious end last month. "Sounds good to me!" was one response to the league commissioner's text message. "Same here... I don't even care anymore" was another. There were no rebuttals or arguments in favor of continuing the league

I will not look back. You have lost millions of fans because of this stupid “woke” BS. I refuse to be used as your doormat for whatever “white privilege” guilt you feel.

I admit I went to a local sportsbar and watched (sort of; I didn't really pay that much attention) an NFL game Sunday night. But only because I found out that my best friend of 40 years, who is an absolutely and completely out-of-his mind Cowboys fan was going to be alone. Usually he has several other people with him. I am anti-NFL, but pro-my friend.
I have always been a big all-around sports fan, but my sports interest is down about 90 percent. It's sad.
Fortunately, there are a basically infinite number of other things I can do with my time.

There is nothing ''National'' about the NFL any more. It has become the Marxist Football League (MFL.) I doubt there are enough BLM members to make it profitable.

The author is wishing upon a star. We thought they were having that come-to-Jesus moment last year when they went full-on patriotic for the Super Bowl. (I only know this because we had one last die-hard NFL fan in the family and didn't want to make waves when he invited us to the watch the game.) Flags and veterans were all over the place in the production of the game; of course mixed in the social justice-supporting commercials. But then here we come with the 2020 season and all the crud being pushed even harder. Well, that die-hard NFL fan last week finally, angrily, agreed with the rest of the family that the NFL was dead to him.
So, the author can hope to get suckered in by another round of insincere flag raising and faux support for veterans. We're not falling for it again. We're done.

I haven't missed a Bears game in 50 years but won't watch them this year. NBA, I quit on those gangsters years ago. Major league baseball lost me too. I go to the local grade school and high school games. I know the kids, parents and grandparents, it is much more enjoyable watching kids playing kids games.

Since I cut the cable and don't want to pay for a sports channel, I haven't watched NFL in a number of years. I've found that taking walks, visiting with my grandchildren and going on drives to see local historical places is much more fun than watching players preen and listening to endless commercials.

Time to go "full woke" and remove the WHITE Commissioner of the NFL and put in a black man.
Those oppressive WHITE team owners need to PAY UP for oppressing black players to make money off of their backs selling jerseys and other trinkets while they get no cut of the profits--
ALL of them have Nike "swoops" on their jerseys and those poor and oppressed Chinese workers making .25cents an hour need a raise so the company can STILL pay millions of dollars in endorsement money to LeBron James and other "woke" players
Jerry Jones for example, became a billionaire by marketing, and stays there from it-- winning football games would seem to be the primary focus rather than marketing and hype-- and last year bought a YACHT that cost more money than he paid for the franchise in 1989....

There is no coming back for the NFL. I left after Kapernick.
My husband a die hard Saints fan would watch the teams where players didn't kneel. Our neighbor, a die hard Steelers fan is now refusing to watch. Americans have had enough! While my kids still watch, I'm working on them. They do not understand that by supporting the NFL, they are supporting Marxism. I'll get them there. It just might take some time.

Goodell represents the owners. The owners need to stand up and push back on NFL wokeness. In 10 years, there may be a handful of the current players still on a team's roster, but the owners will still own the teams. For the long term good of the game, being woke is not a good strategy and it is up to the owners to change the direction.

I checked into one of the games last night to see how they were playing and the games are unwatchable.
No fans in the seats, so they have to load the games with TV commercials. You can tell the players are just standing around waiting for the tv timeouts to end. There is no rhythm in the game at all. Then you have to sit through the insufferable commercials. I have better things to do.

Employers will be happy to get back all of the employee and computer time previously spent on that fantasy football nonsense. Going forward it will ALL be fantasy, played in the minds of those SJW morons who formerly made millions of dollars a year chasing a funny-shaped ball around a field.
People in cubicles who need quiet time to do their jobs will also be happy to have that two hours back on Monday morning when the sports fanatics would discuss the previous night's game, play by agonizing play.

Interesting that this is all happening in the shadow of the pandemic. Because of all of the attendance restrictions, the league doesn't really know the full impact of their wokeness campaign and it will be that much more of a shock when they realize down the road that they might be able to social distance fans in the stadium forever.

Going on my fifth season of not watching the NFL the NBA I quit watch more than three decades ago. Now my beloved baseball put BLM on the pitchers mound so I turned it off. I didn't know who were the Super Bowl champions until a few days ago on this site.
If Goodell thinks he's going to replace the fans with new ones I have news for him. Have you seen who marches in BLM protest and riots? Mostly white women, nutty women, rabid loud mouth women do you believe they are going to fill those stadiums? They would be more prone to burning it down because it a 'white guys' structure. No Roger you missed your target group by a mile. Have a nice 'woke' life with your new diversity virtue signaling you have killed the sport.

Once upon a time in America, sports were sports. So Goodell can get seriously bent and take his entitled millionaires out with the rest of the trash. I knew something was seriously wrong with NFL way back when other teams and writers made terrible remarks about my Tennessee Titans after Steve McNair was murdered.

If Goddell resigns and Condoleeza Rice becomes the commissioner and brings the league back to just playing football, I might watch again. Singing of the National Anthem, and players standing while it is sung, Is a requirement.

Roger Goddell works for the team owners. If the NFL fails, the owners did it to themselves.

Caught a few replayed taped highlights of the Packers-Vikings game played in MN. On the sidelines, in either paint or chalk, was a message, "End Racism". So, next week will we see other genius signs like, End Cop Killing, End Adultery, End Child Abuse, End Meanness painted along the sidelines? How about some other woke dream like End Selfishness or End Envy? End Pain or End Death would be so much more poignant, not attainable, but poignant. My, my. I can't wait. Might as well paint "End NFL" and get it over with.

I'd love to see pro athletes' resumes--
Look at me! I can dribble a ball!
I can bat a ball! I can run with a ball!
I can ice skate! I can kick a ball!
Not many companies hiring those 'talents' if pro athletes are de-idolized.

I agree completely with #14. The NFL was driving me away a couple of years ago with endless commercials and “breaks in the action”. The kneeling just finished it off. I do not miss it at all and will not return. I don’t think that the league realizes how easily their former fans will find something else to do and never return.
