The left always finds a reason to pick on Donald Trump. Without fail, they always find a reason to be upset with him, spending a good deal of their time digging into his past. For years now, they have Dubbed President Trump, “Captain Bonespurs” in relation to Trump’s deferments during the Vietnam era. Trump received five deferments during that time, 4 for education related deferments and 1 for bad feet, or as diagnosed by a doctor, bone spurs.
Well as it turns out, Joe Biden himself also was the beneficiary of numerous deferments during the same era.

a quick history of selective service in the 1960s.
As LBJ excalated thge Viet Nam war, draft rules changed, and Biden played the game well.
First, graduate students as well as undergraduate students received student deferrals.
Then graduate student deferrals were canceled, unless the student was married. so Biden found a local syracuse girl, an elementary teacher, and married her.
This was not unusual - the Johnson administration gave advance notice of the rule change, and the networks covered the story, showing lots of rushed weddings. It was sort of a national joke.
then the rule was changed again. Only married men graduate students with children received student deferrals. Biden, like many others, impregnated the wife.
Who else did this? dick Cheney - he admitted it. He said Viet Nam was not a priority for him. liz Cheney exists because of Viet Nam!

Creepy Uncle Joe is a Demon-Rat. Like all Demon-Rats, he hates and disrespects the military. So other Demon-Rats would find it admirable that he found a way out of getting to serve in that horrible baby-killing organization!!!
Donald Trump loves and respects the military. So Demon-Rats find it "hypocritical" that he didn't serve in that horrible baby-killing organization!!!
So Creepy Uncle Joe -- no big deal, and this shows how qualified he is to be president. President Donald Trump -- horrible, terrible, and this disqualifies him from being president.
Yes, that is the "logic" of your average brain-dead lie-beral!!!!!

Not to worry, at that time the military was only accepting men!

In 1962 I joined the Marine Corps but couldn’t pass the physical (one kidney). Not all of use dodged the draft by staying in college. I always thought that the draft should’ve scooped them up too but looking back I don’t think I would want those snowflakes in my squad. My regret that I couldn’t be a Marine but then again, I could be a name on that wall.

FTA: ~~ "Biden received four education related deferments and a final fifth deferment for asthma in 1968. Biden fails to mention any asthma during any of his memoirs, which also mention his extremely active lifestyle during his childhood (football and being a lifeguard). While Trump should be known as Captain Bonespurs, does that make Biden Commander Asthma?"~~

Biden got both sons signed up in military jobs that held little risk of life. Hunter is so rotten that he could not last even in a cushy REMF job and got kicked out because of drug addiction. But papa Joe would have loved to trot his boys out in full regalia to make himself look like he always had skin in the game. I would say he represents a case of "stolen valor," but no valor was required in any Biden military "career."

Any college student got a deferment, automatically. In the first draft lottery, I got about 22, so was planning to join the Marines, without regret. As a very good shot, I was hoping for sniper training. But, before I graduated, they ended the draft, and the lottery number was moot.
I had studied engineering and went on to a 40+ year engineering career.

Commander Asthma! That word always reminds me of Piggy in Lord of the Flies. Perfect - as that book is a perfect illustration of what has been going on and being supported by Biden for the last 4 months in places like Portland.

Lots of lessons from Vietnam, starting with the hat salesman Truman who thought it was a great idea to give France $8 billion so they could turn Vietnam back into a colony. We could not stand backing Ho Chi Min who was quoting the founding fathers, but we could prop up and then overthrow a variety of thugs and misfits under JFK. When LBJ started restricting missions from the W.H. and the South Vietnamese students rioted rather than be drafted into the South Vietnamese army, that made it pretty clear that each and every one of the 58,220 killed in that 'police action,' should have been deferred.
Perhaps the communist takeover of South Vietnam was going to happen anyway, but US Presidents, including Ike, made sure it was going to happen and they sacrificed a lot of US servicemen while doing it. All of it a repulsive waste. God bless every man and woman who served. They were horribly misused by people not worthy of shining their shoes.
Of all the Commanders in Chief since Truman, maybe two or three might have a clue about the real cost of war. President Trump seems to favor a strong statement that involves as few US troops as possible, for as short a time as possible. I hope that is the case. IF you are going to fight a war, fight it, don't police it and never think you are going to rebuild any country to be anything like the USA.
