‘How Could We Get This Wrong?’:
Texts And Emails In Palin Defamation
Lawsuit Show NYT Editorial Negligence

In 2017, the New York Times ran an editorial claiming that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was connected to, and even incited the 2011 shooting that killed six people and wounded Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Palin is now suing the paper of record for defamation, and discovery documents obtained by The Columbia Journalism Review (CJR) reveal how chaos and editorial negligence played out in the Times’s newsroom. The editorial titled, “America’s Lethal Politics,” first penned by Elizabeth Willaimson on the congressional baseball practice shooting in Arlington, Virginia, was reportedly submitted right before 5 p.m. but required extra editing from The Times’s editorial page editor James Bennet.

One of the problems is the MSM and the Dems lie and distort and then a few years later the reporters that didn't keep up on that issue have only heard the lies and distortions. So they reference the lies as if they are truths.

The New York Times has been an enemy of Truth for a long time. It goes so far back that we only tend to remember the new stuff. Teddy Kennedy and his lifetime of being stupid while being Kennedy, the First Gulf War, the Second Gulf War, The entire Clinton presidency, the Reagan presidency. I think I have bought two copies of the paper-version Slimes in my lifetime and I regret the fifty cents I spent on each one. In my defense, I think I was looking for a job in New York City, something I would never do again.

Here is a question that no one ever asks. Why was the shooting all about Gabby Giffords? The man who died was republican judge John Roll and a 9 yr old girl. Gabby survived and yet the press pretended it was an attack on her. It was not. No one ever mentions Judge Roll who was appointed by HW Bush. They pretend this was some right wing nut case who did the shooting, he was a nut case alright but he had no real affiliation with anyone outside his own twisted mind. I am sick to death of the Times and their propaganda machine. Let us please call this what it was a shooting by a crazed gunman that killed a republican Judge and wounded a democrat representative. I bet most people don't even know that Judge Roll was murdered on that day.

For the times it is all about socialism. Remember Walter Duranty. Socialism is so wonderful. Especially for dead Kulaks, who don't have to live under it anymore. times wants a revolution. They will be first up against the wall when the revolution comes. They lie so persistently that they cannot tell the truth, and have not been able to do so for 100 years.

Negligence is no excuse...but it is probably the hook on which the Times will hang their defense. Maybe Bennet didn't know...maybe he should have asked...but was this published in "reckless disregard of the truth"? He says he didn't know the truth...

President Trump’s most senior health officials leaped to his defense against allegations that he mishandled the COVID-19 pandemic, insisting that he based his decisions on the best scientific advice and saved lives. Trump has been under intense pressure ever since it emerged in Bob Woodward’s book Rage that the president knew the virus was airborne and highly contagious, even as he sought to reassure the public that its risk was limited. The result was a slew of claims that he lied to the country and failed to meet the basic responsibilities of his office.

Whence the story that Robert Mueller’s maleficent miscreants wiped their government phones? Judicial Watch strikes again, as the organization explains in this press release. The press release announces that Judicial Watch received 87 pages of records from the Department of Justice that show senior members of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel’s Office repeatedly and “accidentally” wiped phones assigned to them. The Department of Justice has posted the documents online here. Politico’s story doesn’t mention Judicial Watch, but let’s give credit where credit is due. Perhaps some bad news can at least result in a lesson being learned, though in this case, it comes too late for one Chicago sales clerk. Last week, prosecutors report that 18-year-old Sincere Williams had robbed three stores in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, including the local Walgreens. Apparently not satisfied with his take from those robberies, Williams returned to the Walgreens last Sunday with more on his mind than simple theft. Armed with either one or two knives, Williams proceeded to stab store clerk Olga Marie Calderon nearly a dozen times before calmly walking out of the store covered in blood,

Holiday, which was renamed Magellan in 2015, is being auctioned off next month, along with four other ships from Cruise & Maritime Voyages. The U.K.-based cruise line closed in July because of the coronavirus pandemic. CW Kellock & Co., a ship auctioneer and broker is managing the auction for all five ships. In 2016, as I was preparing to write my “Why Hillary Will Win” piece, I decided to have my able then-assistant, David Byler (now of Washington Post fame), do a bit of research. His job was to look up the share of the electorate that pollsters were anticipating for whites without college degrees and for African Americans. What he found put an end to the piece. It seemed a big bet was being placed on 2012 levels of black turnout occurring in 2016 and, more importantly, that pollsters were badly underestimating turnout for whites without college degrees. In previous years, that hadn’t really mattered – whites with and without college degrees

Biden has gone from no campaigning to faux campaigning. Over the last two weeks, America has gotten a good look at the Biden campaign’s strategy and tactics for the race’s homestretch. They intend to focus primarily on race, while minimizing direct exposure and maximizing their indirect exposure through advertising. President Trump’s law-and-order offensive and polling rebound explain why Biden is abandoning his virtual campaign for at least a vestigial one. On September 4, Rasmussen’s job approval daily tracking poll showed Trump with a 52 percent approval rating. This matched his 2020 high, last hit on February 27, following his Senate impeachment trial acquittal and before coronavirus lockdowns

As perceived security threats mount in Earth's orbit, countries around the world are following the example of the United States and creating their own "space forces." Nine months ago, in December 2019, the U.S. Space Force was born. The new military branch was created with a focus to protect the nation's satellites and other space assets, which are vital to everything from national security to day-to-day communications. Now, countries including France, Canada and Japan are following suit, as leaders from those countries' "space force" analogs said Thursday (Sept. 10) during the 2nd Summit for Space Sustainability, an online event hosted by the nonprofit Secure World Foundation.

September 11 closed off a rather embarrassing week for CNN. Shortly after the network’s chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, published a book condemning Fox News for a “dangerous distortion of the truth,” evidence emerged that CNN leaders meddled in a congressional race, offered favors to a presidential candidate in exchange for the promise of a TV show in 2016, and tried to coach President Donald Trump’s lawyer on the topic of Stormy Daniels. But by all means, keep complaining about Fox News. That tactic is sure to hurt your competitor’s ratings, right? Without further ado, here’s a round-up of CNN’s scandals.

Famed reporter Bob Woodward is dropping his new book about President Trump, Rage, next week. Woodward has already leaked the book’s juiciest excerpts to the media, such as the the President telling him during an interview on March 19 that he wanted to ‘play down’ the severity of the coronavirus in order to avoid a panic among the American people. This comment has led Trump’s critics to call for his resignation or for him to be impeached a second time. Rage, however, is perhaps more revelatory about its author than its subject. Let’s assume that the critics are right, and that Trump’s decision

This year’s presidential election confronts voters with the most consequential choice they have faced in decades, and for many, their lifetimes: between a divisive, authoritarian-leaning incumbent and a seasoned patriot who brings not only five decades of experience, ability and commitment to American values, but also bold ideas at a time of national crisis. Nothing less than the health of our constitutional democracy is at stake. So stark is the contrast between Donald Trump and Joe Biden that we feel compelled to announce our endorsement of the Democratic nominee and his running mate, Sen. One is that MSM Trump-haters have no compunction at all over relying exclusively on anonymous sources (snip) But the other factor is more serious and directly relevant to the anonymous post I am about to cite. I woke up in the morning wondering about the dark red rays coming from behind the curtain. While I expected the darkened sky, the degree of darkness and the fact that I couldn’t smell fire surprised me. Northern California fires have become increasingly common over the last decade as a consequence of mismanaging the environment. Native Americans staged controlled burns to safeguard their villages and create favorable hunting conditions. We failed to emulate that practice, and, as even Mother Jones concedes, so much fuel accumulated in the wilderness that megafires began burning year after year.
