This year was scary enough.
Traditional Halloween activities won't be allowed for residents in Los Angeles County this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to local health officials.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced a ban on door-to-door trick-or-treating, carnivals, festivals, live entertainment and haunted houses.
"Door to door trick or treating is not allowed because it can be very difficult to maintain proper social distancing on porches and at front doors especially in neighborhoods that are popular with trick or treaters," officials said in a news release detailing guidelines for the annual tradition.

Of course they have. We can't have people enjoying themselves. I have no doubt they will ban Thanksgiving and Christmas too.

Wife heard thru her sister in PA that Wolfe has arbitrarily extended their lockdowns. Rogue mayors and governors have turned this country on its head.

I’m ok with banning trick-or-treaters. We suffer the annual invasion of tricked up children of Democrat voters, demanding free candy. It’s not your 50’s Halloween anymore. It’s disgusting to see cars parked bumper-to-bumper on the access roads to our neighborhood whenever this socially acceptable extortionfest comes around.

The left and some pearl clutchers on the right have sucked out any joy that children could possibly have this year. While I am not a huge fan of trick or treating, the kids get a big kick out of it. They love dressing up as their favorite characters and going out and getting candy that will for the most part be thrown away or eaten by parents. This virus has been terribly hard on children. They have had amusement parks closed, fairs canceled, festivals cancelled, pools closed, have been unable to have birthday parties and go to movies. All the fun things have been jerked right out from under them. People making these decisions are just real life grinches. These totalitarians are having a ball but the rest of us have had enough. We now have been taught that we must shut down our lives on the whim of some elected official or power hungry bureaucrat. I am amazed by lengths these power driven nitwits will go to retain control. Our children are suffering from this continued lockdown. School is chaotic, virtual learning is a nightmare for students and teachers, and children need socialization. Please, make it stop!

After President Trump wins re-election we need to nationally or locally enact laws that only allow governors and mayors emergency powers for immediate physical emergencies like fires and floods, all other "emergency measures like a shut down for a virus can only be approved by a board comprised equally of the left and right politicos. This is to prevent governors and mayors from becoming dictators.

But they can still riot, loot, and burn buildings. Just a different form of trick-or-treating.
Its the beginning of September and they are talking about the end of October. Next they will close the polling precincts. Election day is only a few days after Halloween. This has nothing to do with CV.

It's a pity. But, I am sure LA County can work in some good healthy rioting to help restore some excitement into the community.

Children are still welcome to trick-or-treat. They just need to dress in Antifa black, carry a BLM placard, a baseball bat, and a pillowcase to carry their loot.

Just Trick or Treat in defiance of the petty dictators. Put a sign in your yard Trick or Treaters welcome and turn on your porch light. Next vote the dictators out of office. Don't vote for incumbents that support Chinese virus lockdowns, masks and school closure. A new politician might not be any better but it will help spread the money around.

When Bill Gates, Dr. Fauci and the rest of the corrupt Dems "War gamed" what would happen in the event of a pandemic, even they couldn't imagine how easy it would be to turn the American people into scared sheeple. The fact that Americans were so ready to give up their freedoms is terrifying.
And I'm with #5, what they are doing to the children is criminal! There will be long term damage and repercussions because of this abuse.

Please pardon this second post, but, while I agree with #5 100%, the dims' objective behind taking away all activities and social outreach away from children is to stress the family unit to the point that the voting parents blame Trump for covid on November 3rd and vote dim. Another dim objective is to start conditioning children at an early age to always obey the marxist state.

I'm so glad I live in fly over country. I'm guessing our Dim governor will once again, at the last minute, extend phase #2, because he's drunk with power, but we the people will have the lights on and the candy waiting. It will be the parents choice, and almost everyone is fed up with the mandated BS. Everyone needs to keep repeating the truth, that it's the Dims that are responsible for all this. For Halloween, I might hang my governor in effigy, in the front yard.

Well, because of the fear of the Chicom virus, the Naval Academy banned normal football practice, forced the team to only be able to lift weights, run, but NO plays, NO scrimmages, NO contact, NO blocking, NO tackling (except tackle dummies), and then let them play BYU on Monday, a team that DID have real football practices to get ready for their season. The first time Navy lined up their offense and defense since 2019 was Monday on the game's first play. Then surprise, Navy got beat 55-3. LA can buy all their kids Skittles and tell them they came from the poop of all the government's purple unicorns. That will get our kids ready for what the national leaders will do to them should they too get admitted to Navy. America has become a Monty Python skit on acid, surrendering to a new source of fear of death that doesn't exist.

But the kids will be wearing masks!!! Isn't that what government tyrants insist upon?? Instead of calling the holiday Halloween just rename it to be Night of Candy Looting and all will be well. Good Grief, the overreach of these power hungry control freaks has to stop.

On July 4th they also banned all firework displays, in case you forgot how that turned out I'll remind you. For as far as you could see, from sea the the mountains the city became a sea of rockets' red glare and bombs bursting in the air.

RE #17:
Is THAT what happened?? I was wondering. I started to watch the game and after a while, it looked like a Pop Warner team playing the Patriots. That’s when I turned it off. Didn't really want to see an esteemed military academy have their arses handed to them on the football field.

Well ... seeing it's Los Angeles (originally named "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles"" --- translation = The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels ... how's that for irony?) may I make a suggestion to the mayor?
Have all the kids dress up in Halloween costumes anyway and then have them sit out on their front lawns or in a big parking lot. Then have all the parents drive by and throw candy at them. Instead of a drive by shooting, make it a drive by Trick or Treat.

Los Angeles is giving California a bad name. Derelicts and BLM reparators roaming the streets at nights lit by fires is making every night Halloween. Garcetti and Nancy´s nephew should be ashamed of themselves, as should all the Democrat voters that destroyed our state.
