Law enforcement agents on Thursday killed an Antifa supporter, 48-year-old Michael Forest Reinoehl, who was a suspect in the fatal shooting of a right-wing activist who was part of a pro-Trump caravan in Portland, Oregon.(Snip)Antifa has been around for several decades, though accounts vary on its exact beginnings. The Merriam-Webster dates the term as far back as Nazi Germany, describing the etymology of ‘antifa’ as “borrowed from German Antifa, short for antifaschistische ‘anti-fascist’, in Antifaschistische Aktion (multiparty front initiated by the German Communist Party in 1932 to counter Nazism) and in other collocations”.

Quakers may be anti-fascists....Buddists may be anti-fascists...real Americans may be anti-fascist.....BUT the thugs in antifa who use violence, rioting, and intimidation are doing EXACTLY what fascists do.

They have essentially copied the logo of the violent German Communist group from the early 20th century. The German Communist group's logo was a circle with two flags in the center waving on flagpoles. The flags are mirrored and very slightly differently drawn, but the flagpole angles, and way they are drawn is clearly directly copied from their German Communist progenitors. And the name in German is Antifaschistische Aktion, a direct translation to English is on the US Antifa logo, and their proper name is Antifascist Action.
Look at the logos.....not a coincidence.

If there was a "Truth in Naming Law", Antifa would be required to be renamed, "Fa".

Here it is in a nutshell for you India. I may explain the term nutshell later.
Antifa is a bunch of spoiled little punks who think they look cute in their Ninja suits. I have been to Bombay, Mumbai, or LGBbombia, however you want to spell it. These little Ninjas would be on their knees crying for a plane ticket home after 2 hours exposure to Indian culture and they couldn't stomach the food. They are useless little Twits, as in Twitter, incapable even of physical labor under close supervision.

The Fascist movement was founded by Mussolini, who was a firm adherent of left-wing policies. He bragged about being "a man of the Left." He instituted Big Government programs in Italy and was much admired by the FDR Administration for improving efficiencies in Italy and "making the trains run on time."
The pointed end of Mussolini's Fascist spear was the army of Black Shirts, who enforced obedience to the Mussolini program and who physically attacked any who refused to obey. Fascism is Big Government with a merciless army of thugs to enforce its edicts. It is the polar opposite of Conservatism, which promotes small, constitutionally-constrained government.

They're communists and they started in Germany in the 1920s / 1930s. Ole Adolf hated communists and his opposition to them helped bring him to power because the German people were sick of their antics.

In the 1930s, Germany sure had its hands full with their Antifaschistische Aktion who hated Hitler. But, then they had the "brownshirts' who were Hitler's useful idiots and went around taking out anyone who opposed der Furher.

In Wiemar Germany and immediately after it dissolved, the opposition to the Communist Antifaschistische Aktion was the Freikorps, which was made up of former German soldiers and German civilians who formed a sort of a civil defense organization against the Communists. There was tremendous unrest in Germany during this period and the Freikorps was, at the peak, made up of about two million Germans who were unwilling to let the Antifaschistische Aktion take over their country the way that the Bolsheviks had taken over Russia. They had seen that done, and were having none of it.
Keep this history in mind. Let's hope we don't replay it, but the enemy gets a vote, and we may have to choose between inaction and saving our country from Antifa and BLM thugs.

A fairly left leaning article. All conservatives mentioned are "right wing" and all the others are just.....without any lables in general.
Antifa is extreme, violent left wing, and any even handed article would report there history of violence.

It says a lot about the state of American journalism today when it is left to a newspaper located in New Delhi, India to explain the origin and mission of the Antifa organization.

The German Communist Party "Antifaschistische Aktion" was deliberately established as a STREET FIGHTING direct action group to take on the Nazi street fighters of the SA or Sturm Abteilung. There was none of the political persuasion sophistry, dialogue or finesse to its purpose. The trouble with the modern version, including within the USA, is that there is no organized street fighting mob like the SA to fight against, so they violently attack anyone without provocation whom THEY perceive or define as their enemy, including law enforcement for no more than its performing their legal obligation to restrict and control the Antifa violence. Watch how they always turn out willing, able and equipped for violent action. That is why Antifa qualifies to be declared a "Domestic Terrorist Group"
