Chandler Pappas told The Common Sense Converstive that he was with Aaron "Jay" Danielson -- the shooting victim identified by Patriot Prayer founder Joey Gibson -- as part the right-wing group in downtown Portland on Saturday. A massive pro-Trump caravan drove through the city as counterprotesters gathered for the 95th consecutive day to voice anger over police brutality and racial injustice.
The two groups quickly clashed in tense confrontations that escalated into violence.
"We have a First Amendment in the country," Pappas told the news site. "And for whatever reason, there seems to be this opposition that thinks we can't do that. They have been attacking us for years.

During a White House press briefing, Trump appeared to support the claim that 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was acting in self-defense – saying that the teenager tripped and that “he probably would have been killed” if he hadn’t use used his weapon.
“He was in very big trouble,” Trump said. “He probably would have been killed.”
The defendant's legal team claim he was acting in self-defense. Social media video shows Rittenhouse, who has been charged with murder, being chased before he fell and fired at his pursuers.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is forcefully condemning the violent protests that took one life in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday evening, calling on President Donald Trump to do the same. "The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable," Biden said in a statement on Sunday. "I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same." Biden is expected to travel to southwestern Pennsylvania on Monday to deliver remarks intended to contrast

On Friday's The Last Word on MSNBC, fill-in host Katy Tur presided over a panel discussion which placed the blame for recent rioting on President Donald Trump, and also blamed Fox News for convincing Trump voters not see him as responsible.
MSNBC contributor Yamiche Alcindor -- who is also a correspondent for PBS NewsHour -- recalled that President Trump has been trying to incorporate concerns over rioting into his campaign message, and then cited new polling suggesting that independents are turning against the Black Lives Matter movement because of the "chaos."
She concluded by fretting that the "peaceful message" of BLM is being "conflated" with "out of control rioters." Here was Alcindor:

Joe Biden will travel to western Pennsylvania on Monday to give remarks focused on how President Donald Trump has made America less safe, forgoing the chance to deliver that message in Wisconsin, where the president is planning a Tuesday visit. Biden faced mounting pressure to visit the battleground state amid violence after a police shooting in Kenosha. His decision to instead speak from Pennsylvania is designed to put some space between the violence and the former vice president as he continues to argue that the unrest in the city is an outgrowth of the president's rhetoric that inflames racial tensions. President Trump is going to Kenosha, Wisconsin on Tuesday. During a trip to Louisiana and Texas Saturday to survey the damage done by Hurricane Laura, he was asked by a reporter if he planned to go to Kenosha. At the time, he said he “probably” would. By Saturday evening, the White House announced the president will indeed travel to Kenosha. Trump plans to meet with local law enforcement and to survey the damage done by riots in Kenosha. Asked if the president will meet with the family of Jacob Blake, a White House spokesman said the president’s schedule wasn’t “fully ironed out yet”.

A conservative student organization at Arizona State University announced on Friday that they will be accepting donations to support the legal defense of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with homicide in the killing of two people at protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
College Republicans United, which split from the more mainline ASU College Republicans chapter in recent years, tweeted that a portion of the funds collected for the group would be donated to Rittenhouse.
"He does not deserve to have his entire life destroyed because of the actions of violent anarchists during a lawless riot," CRU stated in a tweet.

Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said in the statement.

Ann Dorn, the widow of retired Police Chief David Dorn, delivered tearful remarks about the death of her husband in the George Floyd riots in St. Louis. She spoke about fearing for David’s life every time he went out to help people, but on the night of June 2, he didn’t wake her up before leaving. She condemned the violent riots as the opposite of peaceful protest. “The alarm that went off the morning of June 2nd was for real. It was a violent night in St. Louis. Four police officers were shot. Others were hit with rocks and fireworks.

The Wisconsin Justice Department revealed Wednesday that Jacob Blake had admitted to investigators that “he had a knife in his possession” when he was shot seven times in the back by Kenosha police on Sunday.
Investigators found a knife on the “driver’s side floorboard of Mr. Blake’s vehicle,” the DOJ release states. The DOJ also named the officer who shot Blake as Rusten Sheskey, a seven-year veteran of the force. The DOJ’s release said that, before Sheskey shot Blake, officers had “deployed a taser to attempt to stop Mr. Blake, however the taser was not successful.”
There was no body-camera footage captured by the officers

The Democratic convention was an express embrace of the BLM in song and word, with the Democrats even Barack Obama, simply denying violence and calling them “peaceful protesters.”
Here’s a little sample of that embrace. Democrats seem unable to condemn the violence.
But Democratic polling must be very bad at this point. All the indications are that President Donald Trump has pulled more or less even with Joe Biden in polls, which likely mean he is really ahead if you count the “hidden Trump” vote. A large part of it is likely the Democratic embrace of the BLM, the failure of Democratic governors, mayors and DAs to do anything about it.

An intensifying Hurricane Laura grew stronger by the hour Wednesday over the Gulf of Mexico as forecasters said the system strengthened into an "extremely dangerous" Category 4 storm, spawning a storm surge that's already swamped parts of the Gulf Coast. The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said Wednesday after that Laura, now a major hurricane, has exploded into a Category 4 storm, threatening to bring life-threatening storm surge, extreme winds, and flash flooding over eastern Texas and Louisiana.
As of 2 p.m. EDT, the storm is located about 200 miles south-southeast of Lake Charles, La., moving northwest at 16 mph with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph.
