In October of 2016, James Taranto wrote in the Wall Street Journal that I was “one of the 2 or 3 most intense Never Trumpers we’ve encountered all year.” He was right. (Snip) My criticism of Trump was relentless and brutal. I exposed his connections to Mafia figures, I latched on to any vague allegation of racism I could find, I didn’t just want him to lose, I wanted him to lose in a landslide.
Thursday night, as I watched my president accept the nomination of the Republican Party for the second time, I fully realized how wrong I had been. This is not new for me, I’m wrong a lot.

This is a terrific article. He even addresses those Republicans who need to tell us they have the wincies about his tweets, his bluntness, his defending himself... and generally view him as NOCD (Not Our Class, Dear).

FTA: Even if he should lose he has changed the GOP, he has changed conservatism, and he has changed me. We will not play defense anymore.
ergo, Civil War

I thank Donald Trump for helping me find the courage to be a part of the fight. Here’s to four more years.
This should have been the title, not the closing sentence. (Modified slightly)
I got on board and voted for him in the last election, but I felt very much the same way about 4 years ago.

I always enjoyed watching the closing of the old Billy Graham Crusade when the folks left their seats to come forward to make a life-changing commitment. This story sort of reminded me of that.
I believe we all have the right to be better and smarter today than we were yesterday.

It's an easy choice. The start of another failed socialist government, or a system that's been proven to improve the life of it's citizens and others around the world.

Nice to hear a professional journalist admit a mistake.
Fta: "It is fashionable these days for former Republicans to gang up and sling dirt at Trump."
Only in New York, Washington and the West Coast. Finally we have President that has found the people's voice, not those of Wall Street elites, Beltway lobbyists, Hollywood and Silicon Valley.
Dave, may yours be the first of many Dominos that fall to admit they were wrong. Now go try and do something about the corruption in journalism. By the way Dave, you will not be wrong about Trump being reelected for 4 more years.

He sees the writing on the wall for November. So, we're just supposed to overlook that he actively opposed the president and approved of anything the Left did to remove him. What's next? Does Jonah Goldberg jump on the Trump Train?

David Marcus did something that most Trump Haters will not do. He listened to him. Most will say they would rather eat used toilet paper than listen to Trump. How do we expect them to learn anything? Certainly not from listening to Biden, Pelosi or the rest.

O k a y! Can we talk for a moment about all those who have fought, lied about, and protested the will of the American citizens who elected President Trump? I really do feel disenfranchised by voter fraud, illegals & the-dead participation in the last election that gave the House to nasty Nan and the evil Squad. To save this great, exceptional nation, we must elect all Republicans (House & Senate) who will support our president, then hold their feet to the fire to root out Swamp remnants.

FTA: "I was afraid of electing a man who had never held office to our highest office..."
That was one of my first reasons for supporting Trump. That and the fact that I knew him to be a problem solver.

I have to admit that faced with a choice between Donald Trump (Paris Hilton had something better to do?) and Hillary !!! the most corrupt woman on planet Earth since Imelda Marcos I was happy I was not yet a citizen and did not have to make up my mind. I am a citizen now and President Trump is one of the first that I have seen actually WORK to keep his campaign promises and this year I GET TO VOTE. MAGA

Thank you # 16 and everybody else who has welcomed me to OUR great nation. When they do their silly polls I am not a likely voter, I am a committed voter from President on down to my school board. It's my duty.

Good for Mr. Marcus. I hope that there a millions more like him out there.
FTA:
"For me, he was no longer the lesser of two evils but a man I dearly hope will remain our president."
I laughed out loud when I heard Trump say some of his brash truths about illegal aliens and the border, early on. I remember telling my wife, "If this guy is for real, I'll vote for him." Ted Cruz seemed more real at the time of the Kansas primary, but by a few weeks after that, Cruz and other favorites, like Walker folded up like umbrellas in a wind storm. And I was HAPPY to support the President in 2016, fully on board by September.
We have to win this time, too.

A refreshing and honest reversal and admission of a conversion in his view of what Conservatism SHOULD be, an active participation, not an failed, theoretical academic exercise. Simply, it is all about the American People. Fancy words that don't work for the people are useless. As with all such conversions, my attitude is welcoming but reserved. Time will tell if this is real or not. One thing to note, Trump is not right because he is successful, although the two things are often linked. He is right because he is right. That's why when he tweets, fighting a vicious media/dems/Left, he is fighting for the right things and the only way to confront these fools is straight on and forcibly. Such confrontations make a lot of people nervous but the point is, you will NOT win with polite conversations. They don't care what you have to say and you are not going to convince them otherwise. They need to be confronted and their arguments need to be rejected.
