Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse already is turning into a nightmare for the progressives who immediately demonized him. (snip)
Squad member Ayanna Presley: A 17 year old white supremacist domestic terrorist drove across state lines, armed with an AR 15.
He shot and killed 2 people who had assembled to affirm the value, dignity, and worth of Black lives. (snip) An entity with far deeper pockets -- BET -- used the expression “white supremacist” in its headline: "Kyle Rittenhouse: 7 Things To Know About 17-Year-Old White Supremacist Who Killed Two Jacob Blake Protestors" (snip) Lin Wood, the superlawyer who has won settlements for Nick Sandmann, stepped up

Who knew that looters had their own food trucks? Who would have guessed that Antifa had its own soup kitchen to come to after working up an appetite after a hard day's rioting?
Turns out they did, and when they headed out to Kenosha, Wisconsin, the cops shut them down.
Here's the weepy Washington Post report:
A Seattle-based nonprofit group that serves food to protesters said Thursday that several of its members were still in police custody in Kenosha, Wis., after law enforcement officers sprang from unmarked cars and arrested them

As I began writing tonight, I had a lot of tabs open. Shall I write about the racist attack The Nation launched against black Trump supporters? Or should I write about Nancy Pelosi’s suddenly announcing that Biden shouldn’t demean himself by debating Trump? (snip) As I contemplated three or four separate posts, one for each question, I realized that they are all actually the same post: Democrats are realizing that Biden’s early poll numbers were misleading and that Trump may well win. Some respond like trapped rats with viciousness or frantic manipulations. Others, though, are feeling something akin to relief.

Last night offered a warp speed example of mob violence triggered by utterly bogus charges of police misbehavior resulting in the sack of the premier shopping district of a major American city. (snip) Three was no doubt that police were blameless, but that did not stop bystanders from immediately castigating the police with the same sort of bogus claims that led to mob violence in Ferguson, MO and elsewhere, even as they attended to the bleeding corpse of the suicided perp. The mob began pillaging stores along the Nicollet Mall, the Minneapolis version of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile or New York’s Fifth Avenue.

Last night provided more evidence that Tucker Carlson is the most important political commentator of the current crisis. Ankle biting critics, jealous of his status as host of the eponymous top-rated cable news show, seized upon perfectly reasonable comments he made on Wednesday’s edition of his show and launched a campaign to boycott his advertisers (they are close forcing me to buy one of Mike Lindell’s pillows) and thereby pressure Fox News into cancelling him.
Tucker proudly tweeted out the segment in question, with Twitter cautioning viewers that it may be sensitive

In recent weeks, not only have we seen some very large holes punched in the narrative of what happened to George Floyd, but we’ve also seen the very thin veil come off, as the “peaceful protests” by Black Lives Matter and Antifa rapidly devolved into perhaps the worst string of violent riots the country has ever seen. (snip) We are finally starting to see a pushback by John Q. Public; and I believe we’ll see more as the weeks and months go by. The “woke” forces of Antifa and Black Lives Matter -- mostly overindulged, pampered, underparented, overeducated and spoiled children -- are on the verge of a rude awakening.

One of my least favorite responsibilities on social media is serving as an administrator for a large group of Georgia Bulldog football fans. (snip) Last night unexpectedly became chaotic because Herschel Walker, unanimously considered by Dawg fans to be the greatest player in Georgia history and believed by many to have been the greatest running back in the history of college football, spoke about his long friendship with the president at the Republican National Convention in order to defend President Donald Trump against unfair and untrue allegations of racism.

What planet does Joe Biden live on?
In his campaign for president, he's promised more lockdowns if the "experts" tell him to do it, maybe permanent lockdown, lockdown as a lifestyle, which means shutting down the entire country. It's bizarre stuff given that it's already been done, with plenty of unintended consequences. It's a supposed leadership redo of President Trump's supposedly bad leadership on COVID. This, according to Joe, is how one really does it, so rewind the reel to March 2020 and let him start the lockdowns from there as if nothing had at all changed (snip) the call of someone still living in March 2020, embedded in amber

The Trump derangement syndrome pandemic continues to rage through the CNN staff, with a dangerous confirmed case popping up last night in the Twitter feed of Joe Lockhart, CNN analyst and former Bill Clinton press secretary. (snip) Joe Lockhart, Bill Clinton’s former press secretary now a CNN analyst, attacked Sandmann on Twitter, proudly stating that he would not watch the teen (snip) The settlement between CNN and Sandmann is confidential, not just the amount involved, but the existence or non-existence of a non-disparagement clause, which is very common when defamation suits are settled. If such a clause exists, CNN will be hearing from Lin Wood today.

he second night of the Republican convention has come and gone (and very successfully too) but what should live forever is the article the New York Times wrote about the line-up of speakers for the evening. It is a triumph of misdirection and fraud by omission. It may well be the most perfect example ever of how the media functions, not to inform, but to mislead.
The article, entitled “How to Watch the Republican National Convention,” gives practical advice about how to find the convention on the internet and television. Interestingly, it does not mention C-SPAN

The future of local police departments has become a top election issue. Rasmussen released recent polls showing that Americans pay close attention to debates about law and order. For instance, 50% of likely voters want to see harder crackdowns on urban unrest, while only 38% support continuing protests in cities. Overall, 72% are concerned about recent reports of urban violence. Over 60% of Americans said their feelings about the protests will have an effect on their November voting.

On August 20th, President Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was arrested on fraud charges relating to the “We Build the Wall” construction project on the U.S.-Mexico border.
The news made for splashy headlines, but story behind the charges was more mundane. Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran and Purple Heart recipient, used a crowdfunding website as part of a political gag aimed at raising $1 billion dollars to construct a U.S.-Mexico border wall. After unexpectedly raising $17 million dollars within the first week, Kolfage decided to hand off the suddenly real and ambitious initiative to someone with more experience, connections, and resources. Steve Bannon stepped up to help
