Goodyear Chairman, CEO and President Rich Kramer on Thursday released a statement following public uproar over a slide shown at a Topeka, Kansas plant that suggested pro-police apparel should be banned.
The slide categorized "Blue Lives Matter," "All Lives Matter," "MAGA Attire" and "Political Affiliated Slogans or Material" as "unacceptable" but described "Black Lives Matter" and "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender Pride" as "acceptable."
"The slide in question was created by a plant employee to try to explain what is acceptable to wear in the workplace.

Sorry, Rich, this response does not adequately address your situation... when an employee states the corporation must allow and support the groups he mentioned, there must
be quick heartfelt apologies and even quicker well-publicized firings...

Mr. Kramer was really reacting to the stock market activity that Goodyear is experiencing; I'd bet he supports the sentiment listed on the slide. Had Goodyear stocks not declined he would not have issued any statements in support of police.
I agree with comments above. He's trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube.

The slight drop in GoodYear stock price is not the best indication of the damage GoodYear did to itself. The product it sells lasts from one to three years, and those committed to boycotting them will not discard their tires with tread on them. But, when the cycle comes about to replace them, if they choose another brand the damage will begin to become apparent. The real self-inflicted damage will be assessed in two to three years from now.

My Dad worked for Goodyear in Akron for quite a few years. There was a time when they were a good company. They made innovative, quality products. The employees were well paid and generally happy. When they invented a new bicycle tire they would give them to employees kids to test. They had golden gloves boxing contests employees families could go to, and they had a huge Christmas party every year for employee's kids with a Santa and presents. They even had their own bank that employees could use.
Now they make policies on gay shirts. How far they have fallen.

ICE is the law. We have immigration laws, and not just the ones Democrats choose to follow. A MAGA cap is support for law and order. Trump is a vote for law and order. Trump is endorsed by the police and sheriff's departments. Please add conservatives to your diversity training programs. Also, add instructions on how to appreciate and respect the white male. While you are respecting cultures, please include respect for the white culture and our traditions.

Bad corporate governance to have Chairman of the board, CEO and President rolled into one person. No one in authority to check bad decisions at the highest level. This is what happened to Rich Kramer.
Dude, its never a good idea to let workplace clothing carry virtue signaling: Generates bad feelings somewhere.
Now, the marketplace will tell him what to do, but not before Goodyear is badly damaged.

The employee or employees who did this should be fired. Why not? They fire employees who are critical of the “Cause” in other places! The real damage is to the Independent Goodyear dealers all around the country. They do sell other brands, but there’s that big Goodyear sign on the roof.

Cooper Tire is the other American tire company (the guy who called Rush Wednesday was wrong). I use their subsidiary brand MasterCraft, also made in the United States because they're really good tires and they're affordable. They make a great 10-ply pickup tire.

2020 has been a bad year but one thing for certain it flushed out the commie traitors among us this is a good example. It's not a good year for Goodyear thanks to Mr. Woke Kramer a jerk of supreme stupidity. Buy Cooper tires not Goodyear and no more blimps overhead. By the way when BLM and Antifa come around to protest your capitalist product a sign in the window won't save you or your plant so don't call for the Blue Lives when they do. Rubber burns real hot just remember that.

A friend of mine mentioned that at his workplace any nasty phrase was okay BUT don't you dare wear anything with a Christian message on it. Salvation offends so many people. Thanks, Ldotter nation.

I didn't need this to keep me away from Goodyear. After an issue I had with them, and the attitude of their management, it convinced me that Goodyear doesn't want any return business. It's too bad too. I was into racing for many years and Goodyear was a part of it. I am sorry to see the company bend to the left.

If you look at the stock price drop, it is about 5% down. Volume of trading jumped way up as people sold. But, with evil, rich leftists like Larry Fink of BlackRock there to buy up more of Goodyear to keep up the stock, not as much difference as you might otherwise see.
I urge everyone to see if BlackRock fund are a part of your retirement or investment portfolio. If so, have your broker shift to a different fund. It is insane to give money to people like Larry Fink, who hate everything America stands for, and let them use it to further their leftist programs.
I divested from BlackRock about a month ago after getting really sick of Larry Fink's extreme politics.

I would bet that slide and the policies listed on it, were made by some young Social Sciences major that Goodyear hired so they would have a Diversity Director..
Don't misunderstand me - Goodyear is still responsible, but companies must get rid of all the SJWs they've hired to be 'Woke'. They're dangerous dead wood.

Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization that stands against traditional marriage. Goodyear can go be anti-American somewhere else. MAGA hats are not for use at work. Eight years ago a co-worker wore an Obama hat and I took offense. Diversity training by Social Workers is ruining our country.

Look --- Kramer (related to that Seinfeld guy??) either your woke "equality trainer" said it --- or she didn't!
Where'd your employee get the whole idea from in the first place if it wasn't from this re-education camp Goodyear ran with your approval? Why pull the whole idea out of thin air if that is not what was being pushed?
You can't have it both ways: you support the police and BLM. That's like saying you support angels and devils. The line in the sand makes you stay on one side and Goodyear first chose BLM (Bolsheviks Leading Morons) over Trump, the cops, our flag, etc. Until they got called out!
You're a day late and a dollar short.

Since the company went so far as to ban pro-police apparel while approving anti-police apparel I would say that simply reversing the policy is not good enough. The leadership has shown they are not competent to understand their customers nor to understand the political climate of the country. They all need to resign.
All they had to do was stay out of politics.

One need look no further than this to understand what's wrong with Goodyear:
"The slide in question was created by a plant employee to try to explain what is acceptable to wear in the workplace. The slide was not approved or distributed by Goodyear Corporate or anyone outside of that facility," Kramer explained.
The gutless Goodyear CEO would rather throw an employee under the bus rather than be a real leader and admit this falls on his shoulders.

I had a choice between Goodyears and many other tire brands. Today I replaced a set of four tires on my truck with Michelin's.
