Cindy McCain is going to bat for Joe Biden, lending her voice to a video set to air during Tuesday night’s Democratic National Convention programming focused on Biden’s close friendship with her late husband, Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
She’s just the latest Republican to join in the convention, after a number of notable GOP former elected officials — including former Ohio Gov. John Kasich — endorsed the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on Monday night. It’s a continuation of a major theme that Democrats have pushed through the first night of the convention — an effort to broaden the party’s appeal to occasional Republicans and disaffected Trump voters.

McCain is well-remembered for being the lone Republican to NOT vote down Obamacare.

Another female poster child for RINOs Anonymous. Well, they don't have many attractive females on the Dem side, so they recruit. Another one not sad to have lost. Trying to take the tarnish off the "Walk Away" movement by saying some of "ours" are jumping ship. I'd gladly trade Cindy McCain, Meg Whitman, Christy Todd Whitman, and whoever the other female they touted voting for Biden for Kim Klacik. She's a shiny star!
MAGA!!! KAG!!! TRUMP 2020 AND BEYOND! A FOR-EVER TRUMPER!!!

I'm a bit surprised that Ms. McCain thinks that this effort will be helpful.

Chattering Class Republicans are flocking to Biden. I noticed that election historian Larry Sabato said such endorsements will have Zero impact on the election. No one listens to these people.

McCain revelled in his 'maverick' status. But quite simply he was a RINO who should have gone to prison long ago for being one of the Keating Five.

What would you expect Mrs. McCain to say, as both her late husband John McCain and Joseph Biden were longtime members of the US Senate old boys club “UniParty” working for their special interests while snowing the American people. Most of those “UniParty” members are strongly connected to the global investor class and their supporters who make a lot of their money from government spending, and foreign investments in countries all over the world, and in recent years adversarial countries like Communist China that do not have any regard for US national interests.
Those “UniParty” types also supported sending huge numbers of American jobs to foreign low wage countries and to allow masses of foreign low wage workers, both illegally and legally, to gain entry to the USA to be hired by the “UniParty” special interest corporations in the USA to American jobs that could not be send overseas, at a much lower wage then those corporations would have to pay if they hired American workers. That “UniParty” political manner doing business has allowed those corporation’s labor costs to remain low thus creating more wealth for investors, some of which is then kicked back to the “UniParty” politicians in corrupt ways or through campaign contributions, that serve to keep those “UniParty” politicians in office and to build up their own, and their family’s wealth.
As we have seen those “UniParty” politicians have been just about all against President Trump both covertly and overtly. That is because the special interests cannot buy Trump out, so those “UniParty politicians and the special interests must oppose, contrary to America’s interests, Trump’s “Make America Great Again” and “Put American Workers First” political policies and programs, including securing the borderline with an effective borderline barrier to keep illegal aliens and illicit drugs out of the USA. On the foreign policy side they are also against Trump’s efforts to stop the endless foreign wars and to bring the American military back to America. What else do you need to know in order to vote in the November election!

Is this the same John S. McCain who distinguished himself academically by finishing in the bottom 1% of West Point graduates? And is this the same Joe Biden who finished in the bottom 11% of his law school class? Slackers of a feather.

At the heart of the McCain and Powell animus towards President Trump is his breaking the Republican taboo of opposing the Iraq War. This was an unforgivable sin because both McCain and Colin Powell staked their entire political career on the pursuit of this war which history has clearly confirmed was a massive miscalculation and deadly mistake. To support Trump would be to admit their monumental mistake which is impossible for them to swallow.

McCain was a brainwashed ally of the Democrats. I gave him the benefit of the doubt early on, but in the new Millennia, wondered why the Republicans didn't kick him out for his disloyalty.

The McCains are republicans for one reason and one reason alone. They get attention, favorable coverage, high paying jobs and praise for reliably being a "republican" that will bash republicans for any and every reason. The McCains are slightly to the right of Mao.

I can see what a Trump/Biden debate will look like.
Both will be standing at podiums, but Biden will have 10 people seated behind him. When its Biden's turn, one of them will get up and answer the question or make a statement for him all the while Biden stands there and grins idiotically.

We get it, Cindy. You hate Trump. You are a hate-filled daddy's girl and trying to uphold the memory of your treasonous father. Too bad your Daddy died before his role in the Fake Dossier and attempted treasonous overthrow of a US President could be exposed for all to see.
Daddy was a corrupt fake in 1989, when he was one of the Keating Five, and was caught on tape negotiating a bribe price as part of Abscam. Unfortunately, the money never changed hands before the undercover sting came apart, and Daddy got off free.
Once a corrupt government official, ALWAYS a corrupt government official.

It must be galling to the socialist wing of the Party that their convention is centered around uni-party dinosaurs and Republican Trump haters. Which of these two groups is expected to turn Trump voters into Biden voters? Isn’t that why they’re there?

Dear Cindy, May I remind you that I did not vote for your husband. I voted for Sarah Palin. And I know that I’m in the company of thousands of Americans. It is a great American tragedy that he was on the ticket with her.

That is because they were both lie-beral Demon-Rats.
At least Creepy Uncle Joe Biden was honest about it. John McPain was a creepy liar, who pretended to be a Republican, but served his Demon-Rat masters with pride. I truly hope I get the chance to pee on his grave some day for being the sole vote that stopped the destruction of Ovomit-Care!!!!!!! The day he died should be a national day of celebration!!!

Well like Dr Jill ( she has the same PhD as Bill Cosby) , Cindy McCain also committed adultery with the senator she married.
In the early 80s I worked on Capitol Hill with the Captain McCain and it was known among those in the office that he had been selected for admiral but was soon told to retire when it became known that he was having an affair with an female petty officer on his staff.

McCain’s grandfather was a great American admiral who commanded the fast carrier task force in the Pacific War against Imperial Japan, there is no doubt about that. He was so worn down with bad health he died right after relinquishing his command and returning to the USA at the end of the war. I believe that McCain’s father was then a naval officer in the submarine service who also became an admiral. When Senator John McCain was at the Naval Academy he was at the bottom of his class academically and mostly likely, but for his family naval heritage, would not have graduated. But now that is all water under the bridge.

#13, "murder?"
THAT is way fictional. McCain is not someone that I respect much, but that comment is ludicrous and counterfactual for the Forrestal incident.
Yes, he went AWOL, but his aircraft was struck by an errant missile fired accidentally by another aircraft on deck.
