Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he feels “optimistic” that Republicans will be able to hold on to the Senate come November — but warned it was going to be “tough.”
McConnell (R-Ky.) offered his take on where things stood for the GOP ahead of the election during an appearance on Fox News’ “Bill Hemmer Reports” Tuesday, after being asked if his party could keep Senate control.
“Yeah, we can, but this was always going to be a tough cycle for us. This is a big class of incumbents because we took the majority six years ago,” the Kentucky Republican said.

Maybe if guys like him supported the president and did what we elected them for, we would be more inclined to vote for them again. It gets pretty discouraging to pay a mechanic who does a bad job, but at least he doesn't destroy the car.

McConnell did Nothing to get the Senate majority in 2018. Trump had to go and campaign to drag the Republicans into the majority. Now again, McConnell is doing Nothing. McConnell cannot even whisper a positive message, and certainly will not lift a finger. Neither will any of those ossified faces that walk around behind him, nonentities every one of them. And even with the Senate majority, McConnell has done nothing. He says look at all the judges, but those judges have given us nothing so far, and I wonder how many of them are really conservative. The Democrats never make a mistake on their judges, but the Republicans do half the time. I don't think it really is a mistake.

Well Mitch honey, if you didn't bow down and kiss demonrat feet every time they demand something, you wouldn't have to worry about keeping the Senate.

I don't think the establishment Republicans actually want to be the majority party. They like being in the minority, as long as they, themselves, get elected. Then they can make conservative promises to their constituents, that they don't intend to keep, and blame the failure on the Democrat majority.

At this point we cannot afford the luxury of complaining. If we lose the senate President Trump, even if he squeaks through to re-election, will be effectively neutralized. McConnell is not anyone's idea of the ideal SML, but the only alternative to him is Schumer. You DON'T WANT a country with a Dem senate majority. The world is a grubby place, make the best of it, vote straight "R".

I hate voting Republican for the sole reason that it is the lesser of two evils. 90% of Congress is worthless.

Re: #4 Last week after Hugh Hewitt FINALLY asked a Republican some tough questions. Senator Ron Johnson on the receiving end of the barrage later admitted he had full subpoena power. During the interview he said he couldn't get any of The Big Four (Comey, McCabe, Brennan and that other guy) to come before before his committee. A bald-faced lie! He's always had the subpoena power.
