Axios reported on Sunday that Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) has become a “GOP Trump critic” ahead of the 2020 elections.
Sasse, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Finance Committees, released a statement after President Donald Trump issued executive orders granting Americans a payroll tax holiday and unemployment insurance after negotiations with leading Democrats fell through.
Referring to Trump’s executive orders as “unconstitutional slop,” Sasse said in a statement on Saturday:
The pen-and-phone theory of executive lawmaking is unconstitutional slop. President Obama did not have the power to unilaterally rewrite immigration law with DACA, and President Trump does not have the power to unilaterally rewrite the payroll tax law.

Timing is everything, Senator Sasse. And this isn't the right time. You risk becoming a member of the minority party by opening your stupid trap now. So, SHUT UP, Senator, Please!

Hey, Sasse, you have a better way of dealing with the democrats?
You and Romney need to stop being played for fools by the progressive democrat party establishment. They aren't going to help you if they win in November, but you'll sure feel the pain of being in the Minority, as they fully intend to change the rules to only need 51 votes to pass any type of legislation.
By the time you think the next election will enable change, it won't be an avenue available any longer.
They are working overtime on how they can impeach hundreds of those Federal judges Trump has been able to appoint, and definitely will be coming after Gorsich and Kavanaugh.

It seems that the Cornhuskers have a propensity to elect politicians who are supposedly conservative Republicans, but then when they get to DC turn out to be RINOS, who when the next election comes around cannot be further elected in Nebraska. Right now Sasse has already won his primary for re-election to the Senate and thinks that he is safe and able to criticize and cause problems for Trump who most Cornhuskers support in a Romney like mode. Obviously the problem in the first place is with the Nebraska Republican Party who are blind to the difference between a true conservative and a self serving RINO. I would say that Sasse is trying to position himself to be up there with Romney in 2024. But that will not work, as the Trump supporters who make up the majority of Republicans have memories, and are not going to vote for known anti-Trump trouble making RINOs like Romney or Sasse on any 2024 Republican ticket.

Ben should go for 'truth in naming' and drop the "S" and the "e" from his name.

This is nothing more than acting as a Romney wingman in case the chips fall the right way. Romney will announce (or at least go strongly and openly negative) right after GOP “convention” as a “man of good conscience”. Big Bang coverage by major nets and media. I give it 60-40 he runs.

Gee Sasse, you illiterate dope, do you not know that Barry's DACA EO is still being enforced by our supreme court system that says President Trump can't do anything about Barry's unconstitutional EO.
DACA still stands as the law of the land, unconstitutional or not.

What exactly is their problem with Trump? I just don't get it. Is making the country richer and more powerful something they are against?

Disappointing from Sasse. And as far as EOs go, what's good for the goose (Obama/Dems) is going to be good for the gander (Trump/Repubs). Shoulda thought of that, Barack--or maybe you just didn't care.
